Miami, FL Indian Wedding by Sona Photography

Sweeties, gather around and let me whisk you away into the ethereal tale of Kantha & Krishna's enchanting wedding at the Lasso the Moon. Each detail and moment was breathed into life by the magical touch of Cristi G EventsEvents by Nicky lent their floral artistry, weaving blossoms, and dreams into a garland of affection and Lavish Event Design spun décor that whispered tales of royal courts. Kiss This Makeup LLC, with brushes that unveiled Kantha's intrinsic allure. The artful inscriptions of Henna by Sumaiya Waheed spun the yarn of their impending conjugal symphony. As nightfall kissed the skies, stars bore witness to the reception at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. A gathering so sumptuous, every flavor and aroma crafted by Saffron Caterers sang ballads of a confluence where cultures and souls met. Thanks to the soul-stirring rhythms by Awaaz Entertainment, every step was harmony. A silent sonnet was captured each moment, not just in lenses but in the soulful artistry of Sona Photography. Each portrait of Kantha is imbued with an ethereal glow, capturing the essence of her soulful connection with Krishna. Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning and preparations are very time-sensitive. Thankfully we had wonderful vendors who graciously answered our detailed questions and helped make our wedding weekend into such a memorable event. Our wedding planner guided us and helped us stay on track so that our dreams were able to come to fruition.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part was having everything come to life and go smoothly as planned (and on time!). Our friends and family were able to celebrate with us, which meant everything.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food (Chaand Palace & Moghul Catering) and Venue (Hyatt Regency Princeton) made a lasting impression on all the guests as everyone was memorized by all the events, decorations, displays, and food options.

Friday, October 14th Evening - Sangeet
Saturday October 15th (All day) - Baraat + Wedding & Cocktail Hour + Reception

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I had a bird's eye view from inside the hotel on the top floor on the morning of the baraat. When the DJ announced my name and pointed to where I was, I had 450+ people turn their heads and cheer me on. They were not only looking but smiling and dancing alongside me! Even though I couldn't hear the music, I was told my dance moves were on beat with the music!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Work on the wedding planning together. This is a special occasion for both of you, and you should not take that lightly. Spend time and understand what each other wants. Take breaks from the wedding planning and also remember to enjoy the present time!
Also, make sure you have a system, write everything down, and keep organized!
Remember to enjoy the moment and let go of your worries on your special day.

We hope you enjoy today's feature, darlings. Cheers to love and the endless possibilities it brings!

How did you meet your Groom, and when did you know he was "the one"?
I first met Amish from California when he was scheduled for a layover in Orlando, FL, on his way back from his trip to Trinidad and Tobago with his brother-in-law. I remember thinking to myself and saying out loud the phrase, “Catch flights, not feelings.” During his layover, he had planned our first date at Walt Disney World, in which I quickly noticed his brainy personality, sharp wit, and shrewdness. He was always a true gentleman. Our conversations felt relaxed and easy, we felt comfortable in each other's company. By the time his layover time was coming to an end, I was wondering what the practicalities were of how this would work, considering he’s from California. I’m from Florida, but I already knew he was the one I wanted to marry. At the same time, I wanted everything to be secretive before it accelerated to the world; however, sure enough, the news soon spread quickly amongst our families, and it seemed kind of like a novelty.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Shortly after graduating from Family Nurse Practitioner school, I made a trip to Morro Bay, California (where Amish is from) as my last chance to visit before studying for my board exam and diving deep into wedding planning, which had started even before he proposed. On the day of the proposal, Amish suggested a plan to go to Petra in San Luis Obispo for lunch. However, when we got there, it was very crowded, and I was ready to leave, so he insisted we should grab our food to go and have a picnic instead of dining in. Skeptical about the “picnic” since we didn't have any picnic-related accessories in our car, I agreed with our plan because I thought to myself, “Maybe we can find a bench somewhere, and we can sit down and eat there.” He drove us up to the top of Prefumo Canyon, which was very windy that day, and hiked up a small hill that had stunning views of the entire region, including San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. It was so windy, and not being accustomed to the CA weather, I was quite cold and suggested that maybe we eat in the car. To my surprise, when I turned around, he was on one knee and asked his me to be his forever. Despite the absolutely freezing weather, I didn’t let it get in the way of getting a chance to say yes to marrying My Amish!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We hired a full-service wedding planner, Elite Dream Creation (Rikti and Umangi), on November 2021. I would highly recommend having wedding planners for large Indian weddings as it helps facilitate an organized, seamless, and elegant event.

The venue was picked for the convenience of accommodating a large number of people indoors and providing food from a vendor of our choice. I was born and raised in Daytona Beach, FL, and my father owns motels in the area, so it made sense to us geographically to host everyone in the area as opposed to transporting guests to a further location. The entire mom’s side of the groom's family is from Florida as well, so Florida was our middle ground.
