Beenish and Usman’s Pakistani ceremony set-up at The Westin at DFW was chock full of bridal inspiration. We are big fans of mixing nature with glamorous elements, and this couple did an excellent job combining these two concepts for their Nikah and reception. The glittering gold draping and hundreds of flickering candles against a rustic, fern-inspired backdrop was a gorgeous contrast. Weddings by Farah did a fabulous job with creating the whimsical decor, and Jasmine Dew Flowers created beautiful garlands for the couple and family members. The Nikah was an emotional affair, and featured incredible speeches from loved ones that deeply moved Beenish and Usman. Beenish was decked out in a beautiful pink ghararah, with amazing jade-green detailed jewelry, and picture-perfect hair and makeup by Ghalia A. The newlyweds cut a beautiful white and gold cake by Delicious Cakes to celebrate their union while the guests looked on with happiness. The next day, the couple returned for their Walima, to host their first dinner together as husband and wife. Again, Ghalia A created a stunning reception look for Beenish, featuring metallic makeup shades and a side braid encrusted with pearls. Guests had a fantastic time with entertainment by DJ Manish and taking home wedding favor cookies which were pink, gold, and green like Beenish’s wedding dress. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Mine is an arranged marriage. I met my husband's family through family friends. Once we were introduced we got to learn a lot about each other, our likes and dislikes and our common interests. I would say I found out pretty quickly he was the one. He is very sweet, intelligent, humble and caring. I was able to check off a lot of things on my list for a suitable spouse after speaking to him a few times!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Having planned my brother's wedding a few years ago, I already knew some of the vendors I wanted to work with such as the wedding decorator and DJ. Fortunately, my sister-in-law is Ghalia Alim, the amazing & talented hair and make-up artist, so there was no doubt in my mind about picking a make-up artist, she was the obvious choice! A lot of credit goes to my sister-in-law, Ghalia and my brother, Shahzad as they both helped me tremendously with picking out vendors and venues.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always wanted to wear a traditional Ghararah for my wedding so that was an easy decision. I also knew I didn't want to go for the traditional red color - I still wanted it traditional but with a little bit of my personality. I decided to go for a deep pink color for my Ghararah. Anyone that knows me will tell you that pink is my color. I browsed the internet for some inspiration and designs and found something I loved. My mom handled the rest. She flew to Karachi, Pakistan to visit the bridal boutique that has designed wedding dresses for most of the women in my family. The designers and embroidery artisans took my vision and ran with it - I ended up with what I wanted and so much more!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part for me was planning the wedding outfits and jewelry. I wanted to create a traditional look for myself for all 3 days of my wedding - it took a lot of planning and effort but it was my favorite part!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
My guests loved my bridal dresses, the ceremonies on all three days and my wedding favors. It would be unfair not to mention the incredible catering that brought the traditional flavors of our home country.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The speeches - some of my family members and guests said a few words for me and my husband and it was very touching. It felt really special and I was humbled by all the kind words, wishes and prayers.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Relax - I know it's easier said than done but it all does fall into place in the end. Looking back, I wish I didn't stress out as much as I did. Also, enjoy your moment - really live in the moment and take in all the joy and love.

I had cookies for my wedding favors - the cookies were in the shape of my wedding cake and in the color of my wedding dress: Pink, gold, and light green.
