Gorgeous is the word of the day, Maharanis, and you'll know why when you lay your eyes on this posh Pennsylvania wedding shot by KSD Weddings! From bride Puja's stunning updo (complete with a red rose!) to her blush lip and gold-plum shadow by Singhar by Ayesha, there is plenty to admire. And once we're at the ceremony, we're greeted by a glowing dream scene courtesy of Design House Decor that puts luminous chandeliers and a lavish mandap centerstage. For the reception, the ballroom at the Sheraton Philadelphia Dowtown is twinkling with a wall of snow white candles and our newlyweds are spinning and swirling on the dance floor. I can't help but take a sec to catch my breath (and every other detail) in the gallery

From the bride: "Bhavin and I met in college; we both went to the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and he graduated two years before me. We met through some mutual friends and I knew very quickly in our relationship that he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. His caring and adventurous personality stole my heart :)
Our engagement was a complete surprise to me. I was not expecting to get engaged till 2013 after I completed by residency. My sisters and sister-in-law tricked me into participating in a 'charity scavenger hunt' around NYC. At the end of the hunt, there was Bhavin, down on his knee with the most beautiful ring. The surprise did not end there. We drove from NYC to Atlantic City where we were congratulated by a room full of our best friends. It was one of the most heart-racing and memorable days of my life.
Honestly, when I sat down to plan my wedding, my ideas were everywhere. My first goal was to book my dream decorator, Design House Decor. Azizan asked me a million questions during our first meeting and she was able to draw out my dream mandap and then helped me select the perfect reception backdrop. I knew I wanted a completely different look for both events and she was there to help me create a vision. The colors did not come until later, basically not until I picked out my wedding and reception outfits.
I think the most enjoyable part of the wedding process was going to India to pick my wedding clothes out. I love Indian fashion, and being there knowing that you are shopping for your OWN wedding was exciting. I was lucky to be able to find everything I wanted in two weeks; even though they were the busiest two weeks, they were worth every minute! And finally spending time with my family and friends was PRICELESS.
Choosing my wedding lengha was simple, well at least I thought so. I am sure my mom and masi would disagree, haha. But I went to India for two weeks and found my wedding outfit on the second day. I had to make a few changes to the blouse, but other than that, it was perfect. My reception outfit on the other hand took a designer about six months to make. But it was worth it! I followed the Lakme fashion show the year before my wedding (I did not get married till 16 months after my engagement, so I had the time) and found a Manish Malhotra dress that I fell in love with. A designer that my mom worked with for years was able to re-make my dream dress for me and it was PERFECT. When I went to India, it was ready for me to try on and that ended my search! I wanted a style that was brand new so I am glad I took the risk of having it designed as opposed to purchasing it ready made! Best decision ever!
The most magical moment for me, was coming down the dholi on my elevated runway with everyone looking up at me. It brought tears to my eyes and my emotions were at their peak. Seeing the smiles on my family's face was priceless. Thinking about it right now is actually bringing tears to my eyes. KSD Weddings captured this moment for me, and the picture shows the tears glistening in my eyes; it is by far one of my most favorite pictures from the wedding. And just the thought of being carried into the mandap where you are going to marry the man of your dreams is a priceless moment all on its own!
Bhavin and I danced to 'This I Promise You' by N'Sync. Choosing the song was easy! I was an N'Sync fanatic growing up, so I always knew I wanted to use one of their songs as my first dance song. Our first dance transitioned into a flash mob that our bridal party participated in. The song we did it to was Black Eyed Peas 'Dirty Bit.' At the end of the flash mob, we all vocalized 'I'm having a good time with you tonight' and some confetti canons went off and the rest of the night was history!
As far as hair and makeup was concerned, I was not picky. I chose Singhar by Ayesha and she helped me choose a makeup style that worked with my features. I woke up a 3 AM the day of my wedding and her beautiful work did not let it show! I think it was really helpful having someone that was so good at what she does help me create a perfect and different look for both events.
My family and friends helped out with the ENTIRE wedding process and I could not be any more thankful to them. From the planning process to the wedding day, they were by my side. Everything was taken care of for me and the process was stress free! I had family and friends that flew in from all over the country and everyone took a part in helping my wedding weekend be flawless.
My cake was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. Well actually my cake topper, which my husband actually made for me. I was looking for the Philadelphia Love statue (since we met in Philadelphia) cake topper for months and I could not find the right one in the right color! So he decided to put his handy skills to work and created the most perfect topper for my most perfect cake!
I always wanted my wedding venue to be in Philadelphia, the city Bhavin and I met and fell in love in! The Sheraton in Center City was a beautiful venue and I am glad I was able to have my wedding there! Thanks to my parents of course :)
Finally, the dance floor. I received so many compliments from my friends and family about the DJ and the high energy of the reception and dance floor! DJ Insomnia really knows how to keep a party moving! It is hard to get 750 people to stay on the dance floor all night, and he definitly did it well!"

What could be sweeter?! See you tomorrow, loves!
