The epic wedding adventure of Naha and Pramay continued with a marvelous night with food, music, and dance! The new Mr. and Mrs. needed an excellent wedding space for their big soiree and the magnificent Hyatt Regency Schaumburg Chicago and their professional staff helped them create the event of their dreams! The fantastic hotel's crew welcomed and accommodated the guests who enjoyed an exquisite dinner thanks to Gaylord Restaurant. Maharani Naha exuded elegance with her ravishing emerald evening gown and loose hairstyle created by the beauty pros of Appease Inc. The downright dapper groom’s midnight blue tuxedo with black lapels added the perfect vibrancy to his wedding night look! Thankfully, Dybala Studio caught the best memorable scenes of the stylish duo and captured all the candid moments of the night at the dance floor as DJ Krush-Shaadi Entertainment made everyone danced all night long! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Pramay freshman year at raas team auditions. We didn't talk much because Pramay was shy. During a overnight practice at our friend's house, we started talking about life and what we wanted to do in the future. We spent days after that texting non-stop. Shortly after we began dating, he said "I love you." That's when I knew he was the one.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
The proposal happened on December 23rd, 2016. Christmas is my favorite holiday and Pramay chose the perfect time to propose. The location was at Clark Street Park or, as we call it, "The Rocks." During our first year of dating, we had carved our initials on one of the rocks near the lake. This was the place we had decided that we will marry each other. On the evening of December 23rd, Pramay said we were attending his work Christmas party close to this. During our drive, we "got lost" and he pulled over to get directions. He pulled out a blind fold and said "you knew this was coming." He placed the blindfold on and drove to the location. Once we arrived, he said, "Wait here, someone will come get you." I waited, my friend grabbed my hand and walked me to the location. All I could hear was the music and feel the snow in my shoes as I walked. When the blindfold came off, I saw my closest friends and family waiting on either side of the path holding sparklers. At the end of path stood Pramay. I walked down the lane, crying, and unable to stop smiling. He said so many beautiful things, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. After all this, how can anyone say no!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was a whole different experience. All we knew was that we wanted a traditional Indian wedding with traditional outfits. After looking at 17 venues, we finally decided on Hyatt Regency due to location and kindness of the staff. Pramay and I wanted a simple but elegant wedding that captured us and that is how we came to choose Aga Décor. Our outfits we had custom made based off of designs I chose in India. Hair and makeup was the hardest for me. Since I am not a "girly girl" I couldn't decide who to go with and what I wanted. I was lucky to find Carrie at Appease. During my trial, she captured the look I was hoping for and I knew I had to have her. All the looks for the wedding were better than I could have imagined.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I selected my bridal lengha based on tradition. Pramay and I knew we wanted a traditional indian wedding. Our theme colors were teal and bright red. We wanted our wedding to be bright which is why we went with bright red and white. When I went to India, it was a very difficult process to choose designs. I was torn between so many designs. One of the store owners gave me the option of drawing out the design and custom making it. So that is how we came across our lengha.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was the décor. I made most of the décor at home, including the ganesh for the mandap, center pieces for the sangeet, garlands for the mandap, etc. I was able to put my creativity to work and it showed as our wedding turned out to be beautiful.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
As most guests are, our guests loved the food and music in particular. We are still receiving compliments on all the food served at each of the events as well as DJ Krush "krushing" the music!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The most special moment that I can't shake off is the moment I walked down the aisle. I know it sounds cliché as this is most bride's special moment. For me this moment was special for one reason, my parents. As I walked down the aisle, I couldn't stop smiling. I looked down the aisle at my parents as they watched their little girl coming down. I saw the tears in both of my parents eyes, their proud smiles that were hidden behind the sorrow of their daughter leaving and marrying into another family. This is the moment I can't shake off. Even now when the song "Ishq De Fanniyar" comes on, I can't stop the tears.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Mehendi: It was an intimate event where we had the closest friends and family attend. It was the first event of the wedding and it was combined between bride's side and groom's side. My mehendi took 5 hours. I had the Chicago and Miami skylines, which are the places we have lived and both are our homes.
Sangeet: This was a colorful event and more so traditional garba/raas style. We wanted big space for all our guests to enjoy dancing without feeling crowded. We had stations for our food and we went with Indian street food kind of meals.
Reception: We wanted it simple but elegant. Pramay doesn't like big centerpieces as he feels they get in the way of conversations across the table so we went with centerpieces that gave the tables a beautiful look but kept them simple.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Brides-To-Be, some days you will want to give up, some days the arguments do make you wish you didn't start this journey, and some days you will feel stressed and frustrated. Hang in there, all of this will be worth it and one day you'll look back, and wish it wasn't over.

The wedding jewelry was mixed of gold plated and real antique polished gold. Personally, I do not like the yellow gold look on brides, which is why I had chosen the jewelry that I did. My favorite type of jewelry is the maang tikka. This is what I picked first for both the mehendi and wedding outfits. The tikka is what gives an Indian bride the elegance and shows our culture.
My favorite thing to see in the pictures was Pramay and the groomsmens' reactions to their gift. I went back and forth with what to get this man with whom I've been with for 9 years. We have given each other all sorts of material gifts and I just couldn't justify giving him something materialistic. So instead, I bought a bottle of nice scotch (Pramay's favorite) and customized scotch glasses for him and each of his groomsmen. I gave him the gift of a MOMENT. A moment that he'll remember forever.
