From the bride, on how they met:

"It was all a matter of technology and timing. Roy is a tattoo artist and one of his clients posted a photo on Facebook of work he had done. That client happened to be a friend of my cousin. So, when my cousin liked the photo in her feed, it popped up in my feed. I was like, 'Wow, look at that work- by a fellow Singh!' I liked the photo and a few minutes later he requested me on Facebook. It all grew from there."

On the lenghas:

"I wanted to aim for a more antique, traditional look for my wedding ceremony lehengas. After scores of hours online, I ended up purchasing two out of three of my outfits in New York, one being from a designer I adored beyond reason, Tarun Tahiliani. I ordered the thirds online from Benzerworld, as the craftsmanship of their outfits are definitely beyond expectations, as I have ordered from them in the past."

On the hair and makeup:

"My hair and makeup was done by the exceptional Kanwal Batool. She is one of the best decisions I made during the process of planning my wedding. Kanwal is ridiculously talented. She is everything an Indian bride needs on her wedding day in terms of beauty prep. Not only does Kanwal master the art of makeup and hair, but she is also a perfectionist at an often overlooked concept, known as the draping of the bridal clothing. I believe draping makes the bride. Kanwal is a perfectionist and probably the only person I have ever come across to know exactly how do this."

On the wedding style:

"We are both huge fans of Game of Thrones. We wanted to work along the lines of a regal look and even formed our own ''House of Singh" theme. The Lannister flag bears a lion crest on it and it worked perfectly into our House of Singh theme. When he arrived with his bharat, they carried the flag with the crest, and my yard was decorated with the same flag, signifying the merger of the House of Singh."

On family and friends helping:

"My wedding was spectacular because of all of the help I had from both sides of my family. I've had cousins take of months from work to prepare my home for my hindu ceremony. I have a cousin, who is working on her PhD at the age of 25, who flew back and forth from New York to be at all of my ceremonies and organize the special dance performances. I have countless members of my friends and family perfect every single detail of my hindu wedding, from the food to the decor, to my liking, with no expectation of a thank you. It was truly an emotional time for me to see how hard it was to pull together an elaborate hindu wedding of over 500 guests that would take place in my backyard. It literally took a village- which is basically my family, lol. I cannot and will not forget to mention the patient and an unmatched work by my wedding planners, Platinum Celebrations. They genuinely focused not only on perfecting every detail of each day, but also put a lot of their energy into the bride and groom actually enjoying every second of the wedding."

Additional details:

"For my mehendi party, I wanted a very traditional, vibrant feel, so my decorators Stylish Events decorated our tent in bold jewel toned colors and organized low tables with floor seating for a very authentic, cultured feel. At our Hindu wedding, our other event decorators, Star Party rentals, surprised us with amazing acrylic chairs that catered for photos of the bride and the groom to be placed on the back. On the chairs we had photos from our engagement shoot by Max Photo NY and our favorite quote by superstar scientist Carl Sagan (whom we both adore) placed on the back: "For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love."

The reception portraits and celebration are next!
