Happy Wednesday dolls! We hope that today’s gorg featured Indian wedding will give you an oomph of inspiration. The darling duo of Iva and Rahul wed in Philadelphia, PA in a Bollywood glam soiree! Iva filled us in on the inside scoop: Our wedding day was a dream come true! Rahul and I met in high school and spent 13 years together before tying the knot. It’s safe to say that I had planned my wedding in my head for a LONG time.” Their wedding film by Bliss Wedding Films - Nayeem Modan was truly magical, and we’re loving the dichotomy of playful moments between the couple and the glittering ceremony and reception. The duo held their events at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and Vie Philadelphia, and Sachi Sood - Partyland Sajawat outfitted the spaces with royal pizzazz. For her wedding ceremony, Maharani Iva donned a pink wedding lengha with bold jewels and luscious blooms that perfectly complemented her sparkly beauty look by Sohal Grewal - Blue Rose Artistry and Mehndi by Anuja. She was dazzling! Raja Rahul definitely agreed, and was awestruck as his Maharani floated down the rose colored aisle. Iva told us, The wedding day was by far my favorite. My vision for our wedding was glamour and the color PINK, lots and lots of PINK! I created the wedding programs myself as well as the bridesmaids bouquets!” The spectacular ceremony was followed by a black tie reception featuring eats by Chand Palace and Moghul Catering. We’re cooing over each sentimental pic from the weekend, and you can head into the full gallery where Ron Soliman Photojournalism has beautifully captured Iva and Rahul’s big day. Description of the Day from the Bride:

Our wedding day was a dream come true! Rahul and I met in high school and spent 13 years together before tying the knot. It’s safe to say that I had planned my wedding in my head for a LONG time, no need for a wedding planner here!

Our wedding weekend started with the Mehendi which was held at Positano Coast restaurant in Philadelphia. The setting was absolutely perfect! The gorgeous blue, yellow, and white decor was exactly what I had envisioned for an "Amalfi Coast" feel. The next morning was our favorite event of all, the Haldi! It was intimate with just a few of our closest friends and family. We went a bit untraditional and sat side by side while our friends and family covered us in turmeric...of course we spread it all over each other as well! We had a traditional dholki with music and dance, and even a little garba!

On Friday evening we held our combined Sangeet and Garba in the gorgeous Liberty Ballroom at the Marriott. We had dance performances from close friends and family. One of the sweetest moments was when Rahul surprised me by dancing to "Badri Ki Dulhaniya." What was so adorable was that Rahul actually spend countless hours changing the lyrics in the music to say "Rahul Ki Dulhaniya!" I was floored!! After performances we had a traditional Jaago as well as Garba. It was truly a nice of song and dance!

The wedding day was by far my favorite. My vision for our wedding was glamour and the color PINK, lots and lots of PINK! I created the wedding programs myself as well as the bridesmaids bouquets! The ceremony decor by Sachi Sood of Partyland was absolutely breathtaking! Sachi and I spent hours going back and forth on my idea of the perfect mandap, and what she came up with that morning was nothing short of perfection! Rahul and I were clad in shades of pink and peach, as was our bridal party. I chose contrasting green kundan jewelry and fresh jasmine garlands for my hair. Rahul's peach embroidered sherwani was elegant and understated. My goal was to mimic the "Sabyasachi" look, but on a major budget! We took pre-wedding pictures at City Hall which provided the most breathtaking backdrop. Our bridal party and close family joined us as well!  I walked down the aisle to the iconic "Chal Le Chal" by the Wedding Filmer. All I can say is that Rahul and I were all smiles through the absolutely perfect ceremony, a pink lovers dream come true! After a tearful bidai, Rahul and I returned to our (still separate!) suites to get ready for the reception.

We had another "first look" at the gorgeous Philadelphia Museum of Art. When I saw Rahul for the first time in that quintessential custom fitted navy tuxedo from Indochino, he took my breath away! We had an absolutely stunning reception at the Vie with ample food, music, dance, and lots of alcohol! We chose signature drinks that represented us and even came up with clever names! My absolutely perfect day was made even more perfect when Rahul surprised me by dedicating "God Must Have Spent" by *Nsync to me as our last song. With our friends and family circled around us, Rahul simply brought me to tears! We exited the venue in style with a sparkler send off and recommenced at the afterparty!

Have a wonderful evening Maharanis!
