Pooja Mehta, owner and hair and makeup artist at Makiaj Beauty, has been beautifying lucky ladies all over the world on their big day, and today, we get to take a look into her own unforgettably fabulous wedding event in Scottsdale, Arizona! DB Bridal Expos planned the beauty experts' incredible Hindu-Jewish fusion celebration, where she tied the knot with the Raja of her dreams, Shimon! We're diving into her fabulous event with a photographic foray of sangeet night highlights at The Venue, where Occasions By Shangri-La delivered a sublime pre-wedding setting. The design, floral, decor and lighting specialists brought in some amazing Indian wedding decorations and lit them all in fantastic fashion to make sure it was an evening no one would forget. Portraits By Andra captured these portraits and highlights from the party, where Maharani Pooja dazzled in an Anita Dongre lengha and had her hair and makeup flawlessly styled by her own lead artist, Vanessa — because, really, if your team's got the skills to pay the bills, then why would you turn to anyone else?! Idan Barazani filmed some of the magical moments from Pooja and Shimon's sangeet, and you can watch it here, but keep an eye out on our Videos Blog next week for their other wedding highlights! Maharani Pooja, on her pre-wedding style:

"10 years ago my family and I took a month long trip to India and visited all of the major cities, to include Gujurat, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Updaipur and Khajurah. I was particularly fascinated with the Taj Mahal (Kings and Queens and Palaces! )  and Agra and loved the architecture and detail and artistic nature of the stone work and all of Jaipur. After getting engaged to the love of my life, Shimon, I instantly wanted to plan a destination wedding in India at Taj Lake Palace (in Lake Pichola). However, it was unrealistic for all of our family and friends to travel all the way to India. So, there it was! We were determined to bring India to Scottsdale, Arizona; and that iS how we birthed our wedding style! My inspiration was how the Kings and Queens lived in India during the Moghul time period — the gold, the glamour and the glitz! With this theme in mind for the sangeet and the Hindu ceremony we were off to solid foundation.

The family's hair and makeup for the sangeet was traditional long braids with fabric woven into it. We wore ancient silver jewelry from my mom’s personal lineage collection passed down from her family."

Do not let yourself miss out on the rest of this desert Desi dream wedding in Arizona! Check back in soon for much more!
