In keeping up-to-date with current Indian wedding rituals, Nimisha and Vimal meet up with Charmi Pena Photography in Princeton, New Jersey for a fabulous photo shoot showcasing their bridal and reception fashion! For their wedding day looks, our adorable lovebirds chose traditionally bright colors—primarily fuchsia and red tones. For their reception attire, they toned down the shades and took a more modern approach. Our Maharani is stunning in a champagne-colored lengha choli with subtle accents of magenta by designer Pinky ChopraCinderella Bridez glam her up with a sultry side do and flawless makeup! Turning our attention to the men—Vimal looks dapper in a dark blue suit and bow-tie, while his loyal groomsmen are debonair in black suits paired with royal blue ties! You can check out more of these stylish portraits in the gallery!

From the bride, on the lenghas:

"My sister had suggested I push the envelope and try pink. It was perfect - I was obsessed with pink as a little girl so much that my grandfather nicknamed me Pinky. I customized a magenta brocade blouse to incorporate a modern flair. My lengha was white, gold and tulle and my dupatta was dyed an ombré from light pink to dark pink. It was inspired by Gwen Stefani's wedding gown by John Galliano. I'd seen it in high school and never forgot it. My reception lengha was inspired by none other than Carrie Bradshaw. Ironically, I had a designer named Pinky make it. Pinky Chopra created an exquisite blush pink tulle ballgown with an Indian flair. The dress had pink gems and Swarovski crystals on it. I could twirl around in that gown every day!"

On a special moment:

"The first look! I was excitedly nervous and Vimal was worried about running behind - very fitting to our personalities. I'm fashionably late and he's 20 minutes ahead. We were driven separately to downtown Princeton. I remember when the camera crew kept saying "one more minute", it felt like an eternity! Once we saw each other, everything else just melted away. It was hard to believe we had to actually go back to our venue to get married."

The reception celebration is next!
