From start to end, Poonam and Nikul’s wedding bash had an underlying festive tone that was brought about by a myriad of things that Tum Hi Ho Events put together perfectly. While lavender and purple tones are a classic for decor, Wedding Design turned it up a notch at the reception by adding royal blue to the mix, and finishing it with gold accents. The Grand Marquis ballroom looked so very eclectic and regal, with tablescapes that featured glistening candelabras with stones in a pave setting, tiny vintage tea cups, and rose petals all over. Poonam was dressed in a royal blue Indian cocktail gown, with metallic floral print all over, and an embroidered zari border. “Beauty by Shital knew exactly what I wanted and was really easy to work with,” shared Poonam. Palak’s Cakes designed a white and purple cake with gold embroideries in fondant that pleased everyone’s palates alike, and the DJs from M4U Events brought in the party with their Bollywood beats. Erstwhile Pictures captured this festive spectacle, which Poonam said that their guests continue to rave about! Head straight to the gallery to take a closer look at this wedding fete!

We asked the bride to share all the details leading up to her big day, and here's an excerpt from our conversation:

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Nikul and I met at Drexel while we were undergraduates. He was part of broad street baadshaaz and we had a lot of mutual friends. I met him during the summer before my junior year and we started talking and hanging out and we went to our formal together that year. By January of my senior year he asked me to be his girl friend. I don't think there was an exact moment where I knew he was "the one" but as our relationship grew I knew I was falling in love and could see a long future ahead for us.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Nikul found a weekend where he decided to plan a trip to Laurita winery in New Jersey. He had one of his good friends talk up the winery to me and tell me i should wear a nice dress when I go. I was in Maryland at the time and busy with classes and had no time to go get a new dress so she told me I could "borrow" one from her and Nikul would pick it up from her. So the day came and Nikul gave me this beautiful red maxi dress that he had actually bought for me and we went to the winery around 11 am. He told me we were doing brunch at the inn first and needed to stop at the winery to get the tickets. So he left the car to go get the tickets. I get a call while I'm waiting in the car and it's Nikul telling me they need to see my ID so I needed to go up. So I start walking up and I see one of our friends taking pictures of me as I walk up and then I see rose petals on the floor in the shape of a heart and Nikul is standing there waiting for me. I remember internally screaming as I figured out what was going on.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Nikul and the team of Tum Hi Ho helped a great amount planning our dream wedding. Nikul really deserves most of the credit. I was studying for my boards at the time and so a lot of the research and planning was done by him. Our venue was amazing and the people there were just as amazing. They helped us with every little detail. Ravi Verma was our decorator and he was able to read our minds and knew exactly what we were looking for before we could even explain it.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Being able to do it with our family and friends. We would all get together multiple times a week and just have so much fun while trying to plan everything that it made the stress of planning lessen.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the process and know everything will work out in the end even if there are obstacles in the beginning. Your wedding will turn out perfectly!

Congratulations to this lovely couple! We have some fabulous weddings lined up in the coming days that we can’t wait to share with you so do come back!
