How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Tyler and I were set up by my childhood best friend, Julie, who was Tyler went to college with. She really went all out trying to get us together. She sent each of us pictures of the other constantly until finally we started talking. She was right because we really hit it off. Our first date was just supposed coffee which turned into an 8 hour "unicorn" date (our friend Dave came up with the term). I knew we had something special when we could spend almost entire day together and were still constantly chatting afterward.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We went to Northern Wisconsin for my birthday weekend. I didn't really think it was anything besides a birthday trip because we typically take one each year.  On our trip Tyler wanted to take me to Bond Falls which is a waterfall in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that he visited a lot as a child. When we got to the bottom of the waterfall and popped the question. It was so private, romantic, and perfect.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Since we had a fusion wedding we really wanted to represent both cultures and sides. So for the ceremony I really wanted to go traditional Hindu. I had already decided on a deep red/maroon with gold. We shopped all around Ahmadabad and Baroda until I found the perfect color and detailing.

For the reception gown I decided with a western white gown. Since my mother-in-law and friends weren't with me in India when I got my wedding lengha I really wanted to share the experience with them. I knew I wanted off white and lace, and luckily found something amazing the first day shopping!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The dancing and the food were big hits at our wedding. The entire weekend was a party. For a lot of people, especially Tyler's family this was their first time experiencing an Indian Wedding and they had a blast with all of the traditions. The dance floor at the reception was overflowing and everyone from little kids to aunts and uncles danced the night away. My cousin even performed a roller skating routine on the dance floor. I know the bride is supposed to be the star but everyone saw how much fun Tyler was having and it was contagious.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Tyler and I got some time during cocktail hour to just spend time together. We got to see the reception space before everyone else and just got to soak in the weekend. It was great to steal away some time with just the two of us.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The week of the wedding just try to relax and enjoy the moment. You worked so hard during the planning process and this is really the time to take it in and enjoy. I promise the little things that might not work out exactly right won't even be a concern. It's all about spending time with friends, family, and most of all your love!

Thank you for taking the time to read this love story, stay tuned for more. Happy Thursday, Maharanis!
