Hello ladies! Today's fusion wedding is just incredible! Joined by their family and friends, Komal and Dean’s marriage was more than a celebration of love, with a traditional Hindu ceremony and a Christian ceremony it didn’t just bring two different backgrounds together but two families! Skillfully planned by the mixed-faith marriage expert, Sonia Singh, this unique union took place at fabulous Imperia! The finest location was transformed by Wedding Design for the ceremonies and the fantastic reception with a clear and classy decor which totally reflected the couple’s personalities. Our charming Maharani Komal donned not one but three gorgeous attires! A soft ivory lehenga for her traditional Hindu blessing, an exquisite off-white lace gown and a dreamy blue embroidered evening gown for her big night! Raja Dean did the traditional horseback Baraat in a soft gold sherwani and later raised his glass in a stylish black tuxedo in which he danced the night away while DJ Monu Singh Entertainment played the best hits and encouraged the guests to get up from their seats with animated music that made this the most amazing party ever! Bliss Wedding Films’ crew captured the special moments in time in the same day edit film below!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met in medical school back in 2011. We were friends first! I instantly felt like I could share anything with him. We used to study together which turned into long talks about what we want in life, our goals, and aspirations. We started officially dating in 2012, graduated in 2015 and did the long distance thing for a while in residency. We supported each other with our careers and have been through the test of distance and were able to make it work! That's when I knew he was the one for me!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We went to Aruba for a vacation after a friend's wedding. One day he said he wanted to take a walk on the beach before dinner which I found weird, but I went with it. When we got to the beach, there was a trail of pictures of us highlighting different aspects of our lives together...our time in school, vacations, anniversaries, etc. Each picture had a personal note and led to a gorgeous spot on the beach where he got down on one knee! He surpassed all of my expectations!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Simplicity and elegance! Indian weddings are known to be extravagant affairs, but I knew we could have a beautiful wedding while keeping it simple and classy. We are a very laid back couple so that went with our personalities. We booked Ravi from WeddingDesign after a recommendation from a friend. He really listened to what we wanted and delivered on our wedding day. We were blown away by the decor!
We had a mixed wedding with 2 ceremonies so when picking out a venue, having a place to ourselves was very important. There were a lot of moving pieces and so we didn't want a place that would host 2 events at the same time. The Imperia was perfect! It was close to where my family lives and they have a hotel in the backyard (my husband's family is from Rhode Island, so this was crucial). Not to mention multiple locations on site for pictures!
For hair and makeup, I wanted a very modern and clean look - I can across Veronica from AnaHella Bridal on Instagram, scheduled a trial and booked her the very next day! She was very patient and convinced me to step out of my comfort zone! For my bridal party, I used Aleetha from Glass Slipper Wedding - they did a great job!
Cinematography was very easy - I was recommended Nayeem from Bliss Wedding Films by a friend and when we met him, we knew he would make a very personable film! He is so easy to talk to and truly dedicates time to get to know you as a couple.
We spoke to so many photographers, but when we saw Charmi Pena's gallery, there was nothing that compared. She was able to capture the fine details which I loved. Our pictures are gorgeous!!
One of our vendors had recommended DJ Monu/MC Indigo - they have a lot of experience with mixed weddings and do a great job of getting everyone on the dance floor! The MC did an amazing job with the baraat!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to India for my outfits and got everything in a week! It was stressful but so worth it...the selection is endless there. I knew I wanted "nontraditional" colors for my wedding outfit and had my dupatta custom made in a blush pink...it was perfect! The traditional red is beautiful but just not for me - the soft ivory color is more my style.
For my American white dress, I chose a simple lace dress with a trail with a veil from David's bridal. I knew exactly what I wanted and picked out my dress within 1 hour!
We knew beforehand we wanted a blue/gold color scheme for the reception so that helped me when picking out the reception outfit. The gown I found was a beautiful blue and so comfortable!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The food tasting! Rasoi had so many options and it was difficult to narrow it down! Our guests loved the food.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved the overall atmosphere. It was a mixed wedding and people got to experience something truly unique!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I was obsessing over the weather the week leading up to the wedding. I pictured a sunny spring day in May. Instead, I got a cloudy rainy day. It ended up raining during the baraat, but my husband still went out on the horse! Everyone was cheering him on. I was so happy to see him being such a great sport!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
When the wedding week comes, just try to relax and enjoy it. It goes by so fast!! Do not obsess about the details, it will all work out the day of if you have planned ahead.
I also recommend a coordinator for the day of - I had Sonia Singh from EventsCherished and she was an absolute pleasure. The day of went so smoothly and ON TIME!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
For mehndi I used mehndi by Anuja...she is the best and I highly recommend her! Her designs are intricate and the stain comes out well. My family loved her!
For my wedding jewelry, I had that custom in India to match my outfit. People were trying to convince me to make it "heavier", but I am so happy I stuck to what I wanted. I wouldn't change a thing.

Wait for more incredibly lovely films tomorrow!
