Today’s gorgeous wedding is brought to you by A&A Video Productions that has been designed with a luxury blueprint in mind by K.I. Weddings. Soumya and Vinod have a timeless relationship and I loved getting to know their details in their special feature that was showcased on Maharani Weddings captured by VEK Photo. As I put this editorial piece together, I just knew that this was one fun wedding party! And, after viewing this cinematic experience filmed by A&A Video Productions, I was in for a real treat. Soumya had the ultimate dream team in mind when she started planning her grand event at the Hilton Anatole. Her glam squad consisted of Makeup by Shilpa who ensured that glowing skin and shiny hair were a must. JJ’s Saree Draping by Jessil was brought on to ensure that each outfit fit like a button and not a pin was out of place. We all know the importance of this right, Maharanis? The various decor styles portrayed throughout this highlight was designed by none other than Prashe Decor. The ballroom just shimmered with sheer elegance! The reception ended with a bang with DJ Indo of Desi Junction DJ’s churning out the latest hits to party goers on the dance floor. Once again K.I. Weddings proved to be an industry giant in the planning and design sector and we cannot wait for you to hit play!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Vinod and I met online, almost by accident in January of 2013. My sweet mother had me set up online with a profile and something on my profile must have caught his eye. I'm pretty sure it was the "Dwight" from The Office quote that had him pursue an interest.

Our first date went so well, we had a second date the following day! Some more months after dating and getting to know each other long-distance, he met my parents on Thanksgiving day of 2014. I knew they'd love him from the moment they met. That's when they knew he was the one.

Needless to say, that's when I knew he was DEFINITELY the one!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

The proposal took place in Times Square. The lights, the sights, the music it made all on its own with its people. I stood there realizing that Times Square has witnessed the best of our dates every, single, time. As I was already dumbstruck by the view, he turned us around to a table with all the pictures we took of ourselves at Times Square (one per visit), and pictures from the day our parents met along with rose petals and a sparkly little ring still in its box.

I do not remember much of what he said. I do know it was heartfelt, it was simple and to the point, it made him tear and tremble. All I remember asking was "Did you ask my dad?" and his response being "Yes, I did".

The rest was history!

We were joined by 30+ friends and family from Texas and NY. I will never forget how I felt that day-from beginning to end. Seeing all our friends and family rejoice over our being together filled our hearts with so much joy!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Thankfully, Vinod is more organized than I'll ever be in terms of details and planning. I could not have made this event so memorable without his help, and from our close friend and Groomsmaid Jincy Thomas. My outfit was purchased from a boutique from Kochi, Kerala. Vinod went for a more classic look, as this was a black-tie event. Our theme was classy black & gold (not to be confused with the Gatsby theme!) Prashe did such a wonderful job, envisioning our ideas and bringing them to life with everything from the tables to the bars and everything in between! We did DIY our favors (so much fun!), our dessert table set-up, blackberries in our champagne glasses, our bow-tie napkins, and seating chart board. Much of this reception was the product of elaborate planning and bringing to life the countless hours we spent in Pinterest.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

Since we had our wedding ceremony in Kerala, I was set on selecting my reception outfit from there too.

I almost left without one, as we were strained on time. After hours of combing through many gold gowns, I found the one!I was also decided on gold, since Vinod was going to be in a black tux and my bridesmaids sarees were black and gold.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

I'd say the most enjoyable part of the planning process was collaborating with my husband on aspects of the wedding such as photo/video ideas, our website, invitations and favors. Being is a long-distance relationship, we didn't really see each others creative sides & it was fun to see what we'd come up with on our own and compromise on! Contrary to popular belief, the bride doesn't always have to be stuck with the planning! Including your fiance can be so much fun!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Our guests raved about the whole party aspect of it, our Flipbook booth was pretty popular among our guests as well. They had a chance to put their goofy personalities into an itty-bitty keepsake, and watching the actual videos was even more hilarious! Our DJ and MC kept the crowd (and us!) going all night and made sure there was never a dull moment. We were told our late-night snacks, courtesy of Velvet Taco were a hit as well!

Thanks for joining us today for this wonderful tale down memory lane. See you all bright and early tomorrow.

Thanks for joining us dolls! Tomorrow we return with yet another blockbuster hit.
