Lindhurst, NY Indian Wedding by Bliss Wedding Films

Some love stories feel like they were always meant to be. Manisha & Jason's is one of them. Their journey began not with fireworks or grand declarations but with a simple question at a mandir wedding: "Do you know where the photoshoot is?" Little did they know that that moment would lead to lifelong snapshots together.

When Jason asked Manisha to "get glammed up" for a surprise, she didn't know she was stepping onto her red carpet moment. On a breezy August afternoon at the LIC Pier, Jason—accompanied by their families and closest friends—popped the question with florals, a glowing Marry Me sign, and a chorus of "Say Yes!" If that's not cinematic magic, what is?

Manisha & Jason envisioned elegance, minimalism, and meaningful moments for their big day. Every venue was thoughtfully chosen to reflect their journey. Their Sangeet came alive at Pearl Banquet in Hicksville, where a vibrant Jungle Disco theme set the tone for a lively celebration. The wedding ceremony found its perfect home at Chateau La Mer, Long Island, fulfilling Manisha's dream of a mandap over water. For the grand finale, the couple hosted their reception at Hyatt Regency Long Island, an elegant space that embraced their large guest list with impeccable service and charm.

The talented team at Studio Sheen Events brought their vision to life, ensuring every detail flowed seamlessly. Stylish Events crafted the floral and decor elements, striking the perfect balance between minimalism and sophistication. Manisha's flawless beauty looks for each event were in the expert hands of Makeup by Gurdeep, whose versatility brought a fresh and unique style to every celebration. The artistic touch of Henna by Pallavi adorned Manisha's hands with intricate mehndi designs, telling stories of love and heritage.

Capturing the magic on film was Bliss Wedding Films, a team whose name says it all. More than just documenting events, they artfully wove Manisha and Jason's story into a visual masterpiece, where every glance, every laugh, and every emotional moment felt cinematic yet intimate. From the soft morning light during bridal prep to the golden hour pheras by the water, Bliss Wedding Films knew how to let each moment breathe, making the couple's love story the show's true star.

From there, the celebrations pulsed with rhythm and joy, thanks to the energetic beats of DJ USA's Arjun Patel and DJ Smooth's Akshay Luthra, who kept the party alive from Sangeet to reception. Live performances by Premier Drummers and Raj Daffu added layers of vibrant energy, perfectly complementing the carefully curated ambiance. The baraat procession, led by Ponies Will Travel, was a show-stopping spectacle that kicked off the festivities in style, ensuring every guest felt swept up in the magic. Enjoy today's footage!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I first met Jason at the mandir during my best friend’s Mata Ki Chowki. I was a bridesmaid, and he was a groomsman. We exchanged glances but didn’t speak—until the day of the wedding.

That’s when Jason approached me, asking if I knew where the bridesmaids and groomsmen photoshoot was taking place. When I told him I wasn’t sure, he asked for my number so he could send me the details. What started as a simple exchange turned into texts, then FaceTime calls, and eventually, our first date—and the rest is history!

Jason asked me to find the perfect outfit and have my hair, makeup, and nails done—but little did I know what was in store. On a beautiful August afternoon, he brought together our families and closest friends and proposed at the LIC Pier.

A red carpet adorned with florals led the way, with a glowing Marry Me sign setting the scene. As he sang, "Girl, I got a question for you, can I get an answer?" our loved ones chimed in with "Say yes!"—creating a moment straight out of a dream. Then, in front of everyone dear to us, Jason got down on one knee and proposed. It was truly unforgettable.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We began our search with venues, and one of my top priorities was having the mandap over water. Chateau La Mer on Long Island was the perfect choice, offering the breathtaking setting we envisioned. For our Sangeet, we wanted a venue that felt fresh and up-and-coming, and The Pearl in Hicksville was a perfect fit.

When it came to our reception, we sought a venue that embodied elegance while accommodating a large guest list. The Hyatt Regency – Long Island exceeded our expectations, not only with its grandeur but also with its attention to detail and exceptional customer service. It was everything we had hoped for and more.

MakeUpByGurdeep is truly a bride’s go-to makeup artist. After scrolling through countless MUA Instagram pages, Gurdeep’s work stood out—her ability to create any look was unmatched. For the same bride, she effortlessly crafted unique and fun styles for each event, making every look feel fresh and distinct.

Jason and I put a lot of thought into our décor, as we both gravitate toward minimalism. We saved the most elegant designs for our Reception, while our Sangeet was a vibrant Jungle Disco—an idea we envisioned together and brought to life with the help of our incredible team.

The décor closest to my heart, however, was for my Mehndi. Originally planned for another location, it was moved to my backyard, where my bridesmaids took on the entire setup. From morning till night, they worked tirelessly, hanging banners, draping curtains, arranging flowers, and adding countless thoughtful touches. Who knew a group of girls with medical backgrounds could pull off such professional-level décor? It was truly a labor of love.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I didn’t want the traditional red—I don’t even own anything red. I wanted just a hint of it, but the base color had to be something unique (no pinks or whites). I shared my vision with my best friend—the same friend whose wedding led me to meet Jason.

At one point, I had a backup dress, but I wasn’t in love with it. Sensing this, she kept searching and then sent me the dress. The moment I saw it, I knew—it was perfect. I reached out to the vendor, Baljit from Zardozi Couture in Canada, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. After more than a year of searching, I had finally found the dress.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The time spent with your partner is truly special. Wedding planning is a creative journey—one that involves endless brainstorming, bouncing ideas off each other, and celebrating the moments when something just clicks. Each decision, big or small, is a reminder that you're in this together. (Jason and I would high-five whenever we had one of those "aha" moments—those were the best!)

More than anything, planning a wedding lays the foundation for marriage: teamwork. I’m grateful that Jason and I embraced this early on in our relationship, but for couples just starting out, cherish this process. It’s the first of many beautiful moments of working side by side—just the beginning of forever.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our wedding ceremony itself was the highlight for many of our guests. They described it as something straight out of a movie—filled with magical moments. From live painting capturing the essence of the day to our sunset vows, the soothing melodies of wedding tunes, and our pandit beautifully explaining the meaning behind each vow, every detail was woven together to create an unforgettable experience.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Jason and I have always been captivated by sunsets—the way they paint the sky with warmth and promise. It felt only natural to exchange our vows as the sun dipped below the horizon, our pheras unfolding by the water’s edge.

As if fate had woven its own blessing, our pandit smiled and noted that sunset is the most auspicious time for this sacred ritual. With a hint of amusement, he added, "I don’t know where they got this idea from," as if the universe itself had whispered it to us, guiding us toward that perfect moment and blessing our union.

Their first conversation was about a wedding photoshoot. Today, they're the stars of their show.

Maharashtra, IND Indian Wedding by WhatKnot Photography

If elegance had a zip code, it would surely be wherever Shalvaree & Yash tied the knot. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Maharashtra, India, this wedding wasn't just an event—it was an exquisitely choreographed experience. Think heritage meets high fashion, tradition soaked in glam, and every corner whispering, "Did you get that on camera?"

Hosted at the timeless ITC Grand Central, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Mumbai, every event unfolded with grandeur and ease. From the intimate mehndi moments to the big baraat bash, the venue's stately architecture and opulent interiors offered a perfect blend of regal ambiance and five-star service. Moments Forever, the talented planning and design team, translated Shalvaree & Yash's vision into a seamless celebration. Every element—from the mandap to the reception seating—was orchestrated to feel meaningful, luxurious, and effortlessly photogenic.

Let's pause and give the queens of glow their due—GS702 brought pure magic to Shalvaree's big day. This powerhouse glam squad brought artistry, poise, and professionalism to every momentStyled to perfection by Shamlee and Vipul Bhagat team, the bride looked like she had just stepped out of an editorial—graceful, glowing, and runway-ready. Whether it was perfectly pinned dupattas or makeup that lasted through tears, dance-offs, and Mumbai humidity, they nailed every look with ease. Bridesmaids, moms, and even curious aunts had one question: "Who did your makeup?" The answer? GS702, and they delivered a masterclass in timeless South Asian bridal beauty.

Shalvaree's bridal transformation was a celebration in itself. Donning dreamy outfits from Pernia's Pop-Up, Sabyasachi, and Seema Gujral, each ensemble was a masterpiece fit for a Maharani. Yash, not one to be outdone, was dapper in Sabyasachi and Raymond's tuxedos, which screamed royalty with a side of "Yes, I clean up well."

WhatKnot Photography didn't just document the wedding—they told its story through every lens, frame by frame. From the soft, tear-filled glances exchanged during the pheras to the high-energy dance floor chaos, they were everywhere without being seen. Shalvaree's quiet bridal moments, Yash's baraat swagger, the intricately tied kaliras swaying in the breeze, the elders blessing with emotion in their eyes—it was all captured with a balance of elegance and authenticity. With an A-list vendor team, impeccable planning, and a dance floor that never quits, Shalvaree & Yash's wedding set a new standard for what a modern Indian celebration can look like—effortlessly elegant, joyfully bold, and truly unforgettable. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I knew Yash was "the one" for me when he took me on a road trip across Scotland. It was our first trip together, and I was a bit unsure how we would get along for 2 weeks on the road together.

Scotland was incredibly beautiful and everywhere we went, the views were breathtaking. However, the moment where I knew that Yash was the one was when, in the middle of the trip, he took me to see the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. For all those Harey Potter fans, this is the bridge that the train to Hogwarts uses and it appears in many of the films.

We went to a nearby hill to watch a train go over this viaduct, and when we got there, it started pouring. We were both soaked. It got muddy really quickly as we stood there. In that moment, I felt a bit down because I thought we would have to turn back and that Yash, especially, not being a Harry Potter fan, would not be inclined to stand in the pouring rain waiting for a train.

Yet, stand he did. He stood with me, with not a single complaint about how drenched and muddy we were. He enjoyed my joy at seeing a part of my childhood come alive. He cheered with me and a group of fellow fans as the train came by and raised its horn.

And then after, we went back to our car, chilly and wet to continue our journey; and what a journey it has been.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Yash and I met in Zurich, Switzerland, where we are based now. We dated for a few years before we started talking about getting married. However, I was finishing my PhD and wanted to wait until I graduated. He waited till the summer after I handed in my final Thesis and took me on a weekend getaway to Zermatt, a ski resort in the Swiss Alps.

Early the next morning, he took me on a 3 hour, 5 lakes hike, ending up at a lake that reflected the Matterhorn (the mountain on the Toblerone bar!). He proposed there, to which I of course said yes! He then immediately called my parents, who had been told beforehand what was happening and because they were located in the US, had stayed up until 3am to congratulate us.

It was a beautiful and intimate proposal with a fantastic view.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Our entire immediate family is located outside of India. At the time, my mom was located in Canada, Yash's parents were in the USA, and Yash and I were in Switzerland. So, it was really challenging planning the wedding for people from different countries and time zones.

Our wedding planner, Rohit of Moments Forever, was a literal godsend during this time. He coordinated everything and held Zoom calls for us with the team and vendors.

We made a trip to India some months before the wedding to go shopping for outfits but overall, everything else was done online and through Rohit.

I loved planning the creative details, like the themes and decor and colours, and I had a lot of Pinterest boards running at this time! It was a busy year, but honestly, it was also a lot of fun!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I have been a fan of Sabyasachi for a very long time. I knew for years that I wanted to get married in a Sabyasachi outfit one day. When I was finally able to go to the store, it was truly a dreamy experience and everything I could ask for.

I thought I would get a lehenga for the wedding ceremony. To be honest, all the way until the end, I was convinced I would get a lehenga. But when I was at the Sabyasachi store, trying on lehengas, nothing felt 'right'. Near the end of the visit, I got pulled towards the saris, and that's when I saw it: a gorgeous red sari that stopped me in my tracks.

My mom and my mother-in-law both fell in love with it too. It wasn't even a question after that. That sari felt like it was made for me and I felt amazing wearing it on my wedding day.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

During our Sangeet, to transition from the last performance to the dance floor opening, my mom and her friends, who were the last performers, started a round of dandiya. We handed out dandiya sticks and got everyone involved. It was a blast and got everyone out of their chairs and onto the dance floor.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take moments to breathe during all the events of the wedding. Just stop and look around. Take it all in. The time goes by so quickly and it's so easy to get carried away in the planning and nerves and hoping everything goes well. So I would really recommend that whenever and wherever possible, take a moment to really notice the sights, sounds and all the people that love you gathered together.

It’s a wedding we'll remember—the heartfelt ceremony felt like a scene from a modern fairytale.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met on the dating app, DilMil, while I was in orthodontics residency in St Louis and he was in his cardiology fellowship in Philadelphia. The distance was a concern for both of us but the more we talked, the more we knew this was something special and soon became inseparable after meeting in person.

I don't have one specific moment of knowing he was "the one" but it was the the fact that I could be my silly self around him! He made me feel "at home."

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I had dropped hints to Rashesh to propose to me in a warmer climate. He knew that the holiday season in December is one of my favorite times, so he planned a trip to Southern California and proposed to me in sunny San Diego! He told me to dress nicely for dinner and had a surprise luxury picnic proposal planned at La Jolla. He even contacted a photographer and had it all set up for sunset time. It was an instant YESS!!!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I made my family go absolutely crazy in finding the bridal lehenga. I knew I wanted to go to India and try them in person - we searched all over Mumbai. I always knew I wanted to wear red, but I tried on the few trending colors from the pinks to the ivories. I ultimately decided on the red Shyamal and Bhumika lengha. From the moment I put it on, I knew it was the one! I was also able to incorporate having a long veil, which I had envisioned for my bridal lengha - it made the whole look even more magical.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We got most compliments about the reception dance floor and all the fun they had dancing to the bollywood hits!!

Guests also loved the little travel themed details we incorporated into our reception decor ranging from having a globe for the guests to sign to giving each table a destination name that we had traveled to and having a picture of us along with it.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I walking down the aisle, followed by when the antarpat fell, and we locked our eyes.

Vidhi & Rashesh’s wedding perfectly blended tradition, glamour, and heartfelt moments.

Chatsworth, CA Indian Wedding by Deepicka Mehta Photography

If Bollywood needed a backdrop for its next hit wedding scene, Alisha & Romit’s Chatsworth celebration would be it. Nestled among the rustic charm of Woodpecker Ranch, their wedding was equal parts regal tradition and modern flair, with a touch of mehndi-stained mischief. From turmeric-filled rituals to red carpet-worthy glam moments, every detail was flawlessly orchestrated by EventSpell’s Ishita Vyas, bringing a dazzling multi-day celebration to life.

This wedding radiated joy from the first twirl at the sangeet to the final dance under a canopy of stars. The décor, masterfully created by Chez Rose Floral Designs, blended marigold magic with elegant draping, transporting guests to a dreamier version of Rajasthan—if Rajasthan had fairy lights and SoCal sunsets. Alisha was stunned in a series of jaw-dropping outfits, each styled to perfection with the help of Marwar Couture. Her bridal look—rich in ruby tones and intricate embroidery—was a vision of royal elegance, accentuated by flawless hair and makeup artistry from DreaVMakeup. Romit wasn’t about to let his bride steal all the spotlight. He brought his style game in sleek, ivory sherwanis and tailored suits that said, “Yes, I do look this good naturally.”

One of the most unforgettable highlights was the haldi ceremony. Alisha & Romit sat regally in golden tubs (yes, you read that right), surrounded by a vibrant shower of yellow garlands and uncontainable laughter. It was joyful, chaotic, and everything a haldi should be. Earlier, during the mehndi festivities, Henna by Tulsi’s artistry turned Alisha’s hands into living canvases, telling a story with every paisley swirl.

And then came the wedding ceremony. Under a floral mandap that seemed to bloom straight out of a fairytale, the couple tied the knot surrounded by family and friends dressed in ethereal shades of ivory and gold. It was a picture-perfect scene, and thankfully Deepicka Mehta Photography was there to capture every magical moment. From editorial-style portraits to candid joy, their photos and cinematography turned emotions into art.
