Today’s super sweet Indian fusion wedding celebrates the union of two special people: Melissa and Vivek! The weekend was a blur of warm colors, deep rooted customs, and oodles of love. The duo’s wedding journey began in Thailand where Vivek proposed to Melissa with an exotic and creative proposal. With their emotions and adrenaline pumping at full blast, Melissa and Vivek began planning their wedding that very night! Their organization definitely paid off, with a marvelous wedding filled to the brim with the best of the best in fashions, decor, and style. The weekend kicked off with a waterfront sangeet, at Vivek’s parents’ home. With a massive tent festooned with fairy lights, draping, and tons of blooms, Vivek’s childhood house was transformed into a romantic paradise. Meanwhile, Melissa was a vision of fresh beauty in a petal pink lehenga that perfectly matched the breezy and light ambiance. This bride shopped her looks at Chandan Fashion and Frontier Heritage, and we can see the care and craftsmanship that went into each of her ensembles! In our next post, we’ll dive right into all the lavish ceremony action at  The Townsend Hotel where Bellasario Florist bathed the venue with luxury in mind. While you wait, you can peruse the full gallery where there’s ton of photos by Fairytale Productions awaiting your perusal. And scroll below for a description of the day from the bride herself!

Description of the Day:

When Vivek proposed to me in Thailand, his mother, two sisters and I began planning our perfect wedding THAT EVENING! I knew immediately that I wanted to have a predominantly Hindu wedding incorporating a few important American customs. Every part of wedding planning was amazing.  From choosing the decor to shopping for the most beautiful Indian clothing, I was in awe. The Sangeet was a blast. I never imagined that I would be part of an Indian performance let alone performing in front of so many people. The next morning, our wedding day finally arrived! Everyone kept asking me if I was nervous. I expected to be nervous, but surpassingly was not. I couldn't wait to marry the man of my dreams! Our morning started out with all of the girls in the family getting ready in the bridal suite. This was very special to me because I was able to begin this journey with my sisters and cousins as well as my newly acquired family members. When it was time for the baraat, I was able to get a peek as it arrived at the hotel. My heart began racing as the ceremony time approached.  My father walked me down the aisle. I had been telling Vivek for weeks that I was wearing American to the ceremony. I could see the look of surprise on his face as I walked toward him wearing a traditional red wedding lehenga as well as adorning solah shringar. Our wedding consisted of a hindu ceremony as well as ring and vow exchange. After we were pronounced husband and wife, it was time to start preparing for the reception. Our reception was absolutely more than I could have dreamed of. After dances, speeches, and a surprise Indian performance, we danced the night away with friends and family.

So sweet! See you in a twinkle lovelies!
