Beauty Concept By Shirley Wu was right by Erika's side, helping her get ready to dazzle on her big day with picture perfect hair and makeup to go with her gorgeous white and gold wedding lengha. The blushing bride topped her look off with a traditional tikka and jhoomar, and we can't wait for you to see the smile on her hubby-to-be's face when he lays eyes on her for the first time in her bridal fashions! Maharani Erika, on how she met the Raja of her dreams, Hasan:
"Hasan and I first met in 2011, in Toronto. I was there for work and I went out to dinner with a couple of my friends. One of my friends, Nida, met me outside the restaurant to tell me that she had someone inside that she wanted me to meet. I was so embarrassed because I wasn't ready to meet anyone at that time and I thought it would be awkward. We all had dinner and he seemed like a great guy, but I just wasn't interested. Flash forward to three years later -- Hasan was completing his post-doctoral research fellowship at Yale and I was on my way to NYC for work. I asked if he was free to meet up because my plans fell through and I wanted someone to hang out with. He couldn't make it work with his schedule, unfortunately, but we kept messaging anyways. A month later I went to Toronto on vacation and he was there so we met up. Two weeks later he flew to Detroit to meet me, and that's when I knew he was "the one." Things moved so fast from there...three weeks after his first visit, he came back to Detroit to meet my family and then we got officially engaged in August!"
On her wedding hair and makeup:
"Shirley Wu did my hair and makeup. For this event I wanted a little more heavy makeup and an elegant updo. She delivered on both!"
