From the bride, on the ceremony venue:
"We wanted to incorporate elements of our Hindu religion and specifically, the south Indian culture, into the wedding ceremony itself. The Ritz-Carlton helped create a beautiful "mandap" out of their gazebo on the Great Lawn (a mandap is the small pillared structure the bride, groom, and priest sit beneath during the wedding). It was the perfect way to blend the Hindu wedding setting with the beautiful Caribbean backdrop. The ceremony itself was quite traditional, though abbreviated. We kept the standard elements of the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, but we also consulted with both our families about specific details they wanted to have in the ceremony."
