From the bride:

"My Raja, Jared, works for the Department of Homeland Security in downtown Washington, DC and I just so happened to be working there on a short term project for Booz Allen Hamilton. Jared had asked me to lunch a few times at work when he first started but I didn’t really take him up on his offer, since I was a contractor and he was a federal employee and was just trying to get my work done and go home. After a few weeks of dodging him at work, he finally asked me why I didn’t want to go to lunch with him and I told him I was currently in a relationship. He laughed and said he was just looking to be friends and thought we were around the same age and he had recently moved to DC and didn’t really know many people in the area. After feeling pretty foolish, we finally went to lunch later that week, no big deal. Lunch was really good, we laughed, talked about our families, our weekend plans, and shockingly there were so many similarities between us that it felt like we knew each other for years. Coincidentally, we had gotten our fathers the same exact Christmas present the previous year. It was intriguingly bizarre, how easily we 'fit together.' Roughly six months later, my relationship came to a screeching halt and I was happily single. Shortly after, Jared asked me out on a date, and I wasn't ready for anything serious and frankly speaking I was Indian and he was Italian and I knew it would never go anywhere because my family wouldn’t accept it. Eventually, my sister convinced me to go on ONE date with him and give the poor guy a chance and that it wasn't going to be anything serious. She literally said 'it’s not like you’re going to marry him, it was just a date.' Little did I know…he was truly my SOULMATE.

Everything about our 1st date was literally out of a ROMCOM, seriously! He took me to Atlantic City, yup that was our 1st date. I’m from NJ, born and raised and had never been to AC and he loves the craps table so he surprised me and wanted my 1st time to be with him! Not kidding, after our date in AC, he had told his best friend, that he he knew he LOVED me and he can see me as his wife...NUTS.
Side note: Years later, I found out, after our 1st lunch date, he had told his mom that over Thanksgiving the next month, he had found the girl of his dreams at work and I was everything he was looking for in a girlfriend. This was even before our first date!

We've had several bumps in the road with my family accepting our 'love story,' after dating for almost 5 years we realized, life without the other just wasn’t complete. We tied the knot earlier this year and married life is AMAZING, especially when you woke up next to your SOULMATE. I truly believe, God has someone out there for each person and it took years for our paths to cross but the journey was absolutely worth it."

These two are about to say, "I do" so come right back!
