Dear Shawna,

I am getting married on the beach next spring, and my personal style is unfussy and casual.  I am afraid that if I wear a traditional, heavy red or maroon lengha two things will happen.  First, I won’t feel like myself, and second, my vision of a light breezy ceremony will be destroyed.  Do you think that I have to wear red or is there a color that you can suggest that is still bridal yet airy and elegant?

Thanks!
Monika

Dear Monika,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I am always thrilled to meet brides that are thinking outside the box. Hats off to you and your originality! Pink is a great color for brides to wear – from fuschia to light pink the range leaves many magnificent choices.  Paired with the right jewelry and accessories you will have your guests buzzing about what a smashing bride you are!

To better illustrate my point, I threw together a little inspiration board (shameless reminder: enter our September inspiration board contest) for you featuring a bride wearing baby pink and looking rather divine. A similar look will translate well for a ceremony on the beach, and you could still wear it to a formal reception. A light pink wedding lengha is definitely a unique way to be the ultimate Indian beach bride.
