San Mateo, CA Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Photography

The best part of being an Indian weddings editor is learning the back story on how each wedding came together straight from our Maharanis.  When I find out that a wedding was filled with friends and family making sure that each event went out without a hitch, I know that's an Indian wedding I will quickly be head over heels for. The true love that people put into your day and surround you with, can always be felt by each guest. To celebrate Poonam & Rajeev's reception, SB Arts transformed the ballroom of the San Mateo Marriott into a chic, party with a delicate club vibe. Our Maharani, Poonam, stunned in a sapphire and gold bridal lengha she bought in India on her trousseau trip, as I like to call them, with hair and make up by Beauty Innovations. The talented team at NorCalVisuals handled the photo booth, lighting and music at the event.  Cake cutting, first dance, and a romatic getaway are just a few of the splendid moments to enjoy in this gallery by  Sameer Soorma Photography

San Mateo, CA Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Photography

Cozy up Maharanis, because today's colorful Indian wedding by Sameer Soorma Photography from the San Mateo Marriott will make you forget all about your fall boots. Our Maharani, Poonam, wanted a wedding filled with parties where each individual celebration had its own color scheme and theme. SB Arts designed a fabric mandap that captured the beauty of the lawn while bright coral and pinks added a touch of romance. We always love a Rolls Royce exit for the newlyweds, but my favorite detail is by far this adorable ring bearer. You must spend some time in this gallery packed with festive pictures of the baraat, so make sure you take a look for some Indian wedding ideas of your own!

2create Designs Produces a #RHOC Baby Shower!

Our dear friends at 2Create Designs produced a rustic, chic baby shower for the soon to be new mama and #RHOC star Meghan King Edmonds and we have all the juicy details!  Bringing together natural elements with some Maharani flare, Saman, the owner, created an event that was intimate and impressive to this guest list of saavy shoppers. Charming, usable details, like this white play teepee and chair garland decorated the gorgeous room at the Balboa Bay ResortSweet Tooth Candy Buffets delighted guests while Patty Cakes Tasty Bakes and her "naked cake" made sure these ladies were calling their trainers in the morning!  My favorite detail of all is hands down the laser cut wooden signs by The Bleu Dahlia that give that personalized finishing touch.  Make sure that you browse through this lovely gallery, filled with ideas for your own shower or engagement party!

1. How did you first meet Meghan and start working with #RHOC?

I had reached out to her via social media and she was extremely kind enough to respond requesting a meeting. It was very humbling to know that Meghan was just like any other client, requesting to set up a meeting rightaway to discuss details of her intimate shower.

2. What's different about working on a celebrity baby shower?

I think it is important to note that at the end of the day, celebrity or not, there just isn't anything more special than being able to witness the excitement from an expectant mom. Meghan is a very humble person and actually wanted a simple, shabby chic shower. I may have convinced her to add some elements as my own excitement and ideas came to fruition!

3. What was it like to work with Meghan?

Throughout the planning process, Meghan was very calm, collected, and excited! This made my job very easy as she gave me plenty of room to be creative with. She mentioned a few of her favorite flowers, colors, and the rest I tried to run with. She kept in touch with me regularly which made it very comfortable to talk to her and I am glad that I have gained not just a client, but a friend through this experience.

4. Did you meet the other Housewives?

I did meet some of the previous housewives who were very kind. They were generous with their nice words about the event and have even inquired about future events which I am very excited about!

5. What was the inspiration behind the shower?

In terms of inspiration, I would have to say it was very airy, earthy, and rustic. It ironically reminded me of mother nature in many ways-the soft colors, greenery, and woodsy palettes made it seem like we were in a secret garden. I am so happy that we were able to take Meghan's vision and bring it indoors.

6. Do you know Meghan's baby's name?

Yes, but not telling!

Check out more of 2Create Design's work here!  And, see you all tomorrow!

San Mateo, CA Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Photography

Sunny California awaits us on this crisp fall day, as Sameer Soorma Photography brings us this gorgeous indian wedding from the Marriott San Mateo. Our Maharani is the epitome of elegant, traditional style in a burnt red and champagne bridal lengha with heirloom gold jewelry. Persuing Instagram for bridal inspiration our Maharani found make up artist Martha Tafoya, who made her look and feel like a modern princess.  Mehndi Designer once again brought her unique, artistic style to create a personalized look for the wedding, and SB Arts handled florals and decor. There are tons of lovely pictures (especially from their Sangeet) in the gallery, so make sure you take a look!
