Welcome back to another incredible Film-y Friday video! This spectacular feature from Faithbooth Cinematography takes us front and center to a traditional event in the heart of Toronto. With a vibrant color palette of scarlets and golds, the wedding stage is a glowing sight and our Maharani adds a stylish touch of emerald in her deep forest green sari. At the reception, she shines in a soft pink rose open shirt lengha. Fashion fabulous! This is clearly a charmed day filled with cheer! I'm about to turn up the volume (I love this Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat song!) and watch it again!

From the bride, on her wedding style:

"I always had a very clear vision of what my wedding should look and feel like so it really helped when I actually started to plan it. We had three functions and they each had different colours and themes (mehendi, wedding, reception). But, most importantly, both Sid and I wanted our wedding to be fun, welcoming, and full of memories for both us and our guests.

For the mehendi, we had it in my backyard and I wanted it to be colourful so the decor & clothes were in the yellow, red, green, and orange palette. For the wedding, we used traditional red and gold colours. For the reception it was in shades of ivory and pink."

On planning the wedding:

"I enjoyed every moment of planning the wedding and the actual days itself. Sid and I essentially planned our wedding entirely on our own but we had some great friends and family who helped out as well. Although being the girl I was more invested in the venue, decor, flowers and clothes than my husband. Also, we wanted the events to be reflection of us—Sid is Punjabi and I am half South Indian, half Maharashtrian so we tried to incorporate elements of both cultures.

Having lived in 4 different countries, I had friends and family from around the world who attended our wedding and it was very special to have everyone together celebrate with us.

My family is from Mumbai and having been there many, many times I could not imagine shopping elsewhere. My mom and I spent 2 weeks in India to do all our wedding shopping, including the invitations, clothes, jewellery, gifts, etc. Because I had such limited time, I did a lot of research before I went. I discovered designers Chamee & Palak and fell in love with their work. My mehendi and reception lehengas were from there. I bought them both in 1 day! To honour my Tamilian side, I wore a kanjeevaram to the wedding, which I bought at Nalli's in Chennai.

All 3 days of our celebrations were very extremely special—both of us were stress free and we really enjoyed our wedding. Also, our guests had a blast and left with some amazing memories (we were told)."

On special moments from the day:

"There were so many moments that really stood out. At the wedding it was moment when we exchanged garlands—I was so excited to be marrying the man I loved, I couldn't wait to put the garland around his neck.

Also, at the reception Sid performed a dance with me during the reception and it was his first time ever doing a choreographed dance so it was very special. Another one was when my brother and cousins did a dance performance and it was so energetic and so much fun! The live music performance by Parichay was fantastic that really got everyone on the dance floor. Seeing everyone having a good time was truly magical!

One of the things that are guests really enjoyed and had a lot of fun with was the photo booth—glad we had that! Our videographer was also amazing, he captured nuances of the ceremony and reception without being intrusive. Our family also left us some heartfelt video messages which we watched many weeks later and it brought back great memories."

Looking back:

"Our wedding was exactly how we wanted it to be. It was a happy occasion for all of us and one that I will cherish forever. Everything was seamless and all the months of planning, details and discussions were all worth it. But, most importantly I married the man of my dreams with all our closest people there to celebrate with us—we couldn't have asked for anything more."
