Shanaya & Dev's wedding was the kind that makes you want to pause real life, grab a seat at the baraat, and convince everyone you were absolutely meant to be on the guest list. This celebration unfolded like a movie with three sparkling acts: a vibrant sangeet, a picturesque ceremony under open skies, and a reception that could easily double as a royal gala. And through it all, WSS Weddings captured every last twirl, tear, and “OMG, this is stunning” moment with the storytelling finesse only a Platinum Guide photographer can deliver.

The festivities kicked off with a sangeet that felt like a glittering preview of the magic to come. Shanaya arrived wearing a mesmerizing ensemble by Jigar & Nikita, shimmering under the lights as if she were born to be center stage (the unanimous verdict: she was). Partyland Sajawat brought the room to life with décor that blended tradition and flair—think color, texture, and whimsy wrapped into one gorgeous creation. The Hilton Pearl River provided the perfect backdrop once again, effortlessly transforming with each event like a seasoned shape-shifter.

When the big day arrived, Shanaya floated into her ceremony looking like a modern-day maharani in a breathtaking Disha Patil couture lengha—regal, romantic, and simply unforgettable. The mandap, masterfully designed by Partyland Sajawat, rose from the greenery like a floral dream sequence, complete with lush roses and carefully layered textures that made every angle camera-ready. The artistry continued up close, thanks to Anuja Wala’s mehndi detailing, which looked stunning in all the getting-ready portraits.

Everything Beautiful Artistry and Beauty by Bijal Shah crafted Shanaya’s flawless hair and makeup looks. Soft glam, bold glam, and everything in between—each transition was seamless and picture-perfect, a testament to true industry expertise. Dev made his own grand entrance with baraat beats courtesy of Amplifire Entertainment, whose energy could have powered the entire tri-state area. The music didn’t just set the tone; it kept the celebration vibrating with joy from start to finish. The culinary journey was equally impressive thanks to Moghul Catering, who delivered a feast guests will likely be dreaming about until further notice.

At the reception, the ballroom glowed beneath crystal chandeliers and elegant décor touches, with Premium Event Rental’s curated pieces elevating every corner. Disha Patil returned as the designer behind Shanaya’s stunning reception look—a blend of sparkle, sophistication, and effortless glamour. For dessert, A Little Cake delivered a confectionery masterpiece almost too pretty to cut… almost. Once it was sliced, there were no regrets—just quick forks and happy sighs. Monaco Experiences handled seamless transportation with the elegance worthy of such a celebration.

Behind the scenes, Aria Events, our talented Platinum Guide member, orchestrated every detail with the precision of a symphony conductor. From logistics to ambience to unforgettable guest experiences, their planning ensured the wedding flowed with ease, beauty, and unforgettable moments. This was a love story told through flawless design, expert artistry, and families who celebrated with their whole hearts.

Shanaya & Dev’s celebration is a perfect reminder of what happens when the right vendors, the right vision, and the right couple come together: pure magic.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Dev and I met at Saint Louis University as undergrads! We had a natural friendship and eventually couldn’t deny that there was something more. We decided to go all in on our relationship and try long distance, and after 6 long years of FaceTime calls and plane rides, we’re finally in the same city and married!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Dev and I had dinner plans in NYC, but with my family, he planned for brunch in Hoboken, which I made the reservation for! When we got to the restaurant, my parents and sister drove away and Dev took me to the waterfront where he proposed. He had a photographer set up! After a photoshoot, he arranged for a dinner surprise with both of our families and a night out surprise with our friends from all over! It was a perfect night.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
My family, Dev, and I started wedding planning from the jump. We researched numerous venues and were Excel sheet obsessed with all of the budgets and vendors we were interested in. Dev really wanted a venue that also had a hotel, so all of our friends and family traveling had an easy weekend logistically, and I really wanted an outdoor wedding. The Hilton Pearl River filled all of our check boxes, along with having so much charm and beautiful features. Abbey, our event coordinator, was amazing to work with from the start, and we would choose our venue 1000 times over.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
At first, I thought I would go straight away from the traditional red color, but after trying on multiple outfits, I understand why so many South Asian brides wear red. It was undeniable that it just makes you pop. My family and I went shopping in India, and one of the first designers I went to was Disha Patel, and I fell in love.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the process was how it brought my family closer together, and all of the time we spent together and finding all of the details that made it really feel so special to us. Of course, it was also amazing. Just see all of our planning come to life on the actual weekend of the wedding. Additionally, my family handmade the backdrop and decor we used for our haldi, so seeing that turn out so amazing was so satisfying.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We had many people, on how amazing the food was, along with how our DJ did an amazing job, keeping the Dance floor hype. Shout out to Moghul Catering and Amplifire Entertainment! We also got a lot of love for our gift baskets, which my mom sourced from India.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
It’s hard to pick one special moment, but just seeing all of our favorite people together in one place was so special. Some highlights were the amazing performances our friends and family put together for our sangeet and dancing with everyone at the reception.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Have fun! This is the only time you will have these people in a room celebrating you and your love! Also, don't let people tell you the details don't matter. All of your effort will be recognized, so put in the work for what makes you happy.
