There is something about fusion weddings that makes us delirious with joy. It’s probably because every fusion wedding surprises us with the way they blend cultures, traditions, and rituals. They’re unpredictable and therein lies the beauty. Where do we even begin with Lakshmi and Andrew’s wedding? Erin McLean Events put together this classic wedding with a contemporary twist, and Stillsmith Collective seriously left us wanting more after we saw his stellar photographs. The blissful summer ceremony was hosted at The Carolina Inn, a historic and architectural hotel on the University of North Carolina campus. It made for the perfect venue given the mix of modern sophistication and rich history. Maharani Fashions designed a classic red ornate lehenga with dashes of navy blue on the borders and lankans. She completed her look with an exquisite Kundan choker set, and Kundan jhumkas. The Make Up Team dolled her up with a dewy matte glow, and styled her hair in a sleek, pulled-back low bun, thus enhancing her bridal radiance. Lakshmi’s bridesmaids and Andrew’s groomsmen matched elegantly in blue and gold ensembles, and along with the midnight blue and gold drapes, the entire color scheme come together so well. Raaga catered an assortment of scrumptious food that was displayed very sophisticatedly. Customizing Creativity crafted lovely white wedding cards with accents of navy blue, gold, and purple, with detailed explanations of Indian rituals and customs.
