Detroit, MI Indian Wedding by Killer Creations Photography

There’s something undeniably magical about weddings that don’t just unite two people—but two entire worlds. And Bansili & Morgan’s Detroit celebration? It was the perfect reminder that when love leads the way, tradition and modern romance can coexist in the most breathtakingly beautiful fashion imaginable.

From heartfelt cultural moments to elegant waterfront celebrations, this wedding weekend unfolded as a cinematic love story layered with emotion, sophistication, and enough unforgettable dance floor moments to permanently exhaust at least three pairs of shoes.

The festivities began at The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, where timeless architecture and luxurious interiors created the perfect backdrop for the couple’s ceremony celebrations. There’s something about historic venues mixed with vibrant South Asian wedding traditions that simply works every single time—and this wedding proved exactly why. The grandeur of the space paired beautifully with the warmth and intimacy surrounding Bansili & Morgan throughout the day.

Of course, orchestrating a multicultural wedding of this scale requires exceptional coordination, vision, and the ability to seamlessly blend traditions while keeping every guest fully immersed in the experience. That’s where our Platinum Guide member Utsav Planners Inc. truly shined. Every event flowed effortlessly, balancing elegance with personality while ensuring both families and cultures were celebrated thoughtfully throughout the weekend. The beauty of fusion weddings lies in honoring heritage while creating something uniquely personal—and this team executed that balance flawlessly.

The celebration continued at both The War Memorial and Roostertail, where guests were treated to stunning waterfront views, sophisticated décor, and an atmosphere that somehow felt both grand and deeply personal all at once.

Eleganté Productions transformed the venues into romantic dreamscapes filled with elegant textures, glowing candlelight, and timeless floral and décor details that elevated every moment beautifully. From ceremony elegance to reception glamour, every space felt intentionally curated to reflect the couple’s refined yet joyful energy, while Crystal Drake ensured the bride’s beauty looked flawless throughout the celebration.

And then… the reception energy arrived. Because no matter how emotional the vows are, South Asian wedding guests are always secretly waiting for the dance floor to open. Thankfully, our Platinum Guide member, DJ Ice & Fresh Productionsfully delivered. The music, energy, and production transformed the evening into a nonstop celebration where guests clearly abandoned any plans of “leaving early.” Between cultural hits, crowd favorites, and the kind of perfectly timed transitions that keep every generation dancing, the atmosphere remained electric from beginning to end.

Guests also enjoyed incredible cuisine from Krishna Catering, whose rich flavors and authentic dishes brought another meaningful layer of tradition to the celebration. And because every iconic wedding deserves a memorable sweet ending, Sweet Heather Anne created desserts almost too beautiful to cut into. Almost.

Capturing every emotional, joyful, and beautifully chaotic moment was our Platinum Guide member, Killer Creations Photography and Cinematography, whose storytelling style brought the entire weekend to life with cinematic artistry. From intimate exchanges between Bansili & Morgan to sweeping venue shots and energetic reception moments, every image feels rich with emotion and authenticity. Their ability to preserve both the grandeur and the quiet in-between moments is exactly what makes South Asian wedding storytelling so impactful.

Bansili & Morgan’s wedding was more than a fusion celebration—it was a reflection of partnership, family, culture, and the kind of love that makes everyone around them feel lucky to witness it. Elegant, emotional, and joyfully unforgettable, this wedding weekend delivered every bit of Maharani magic we could ask for.

Rockleigh, NJ Indian Wedding by Aperina Studios

Not every love story gets the setting it deserves. But every now and then, the universe cooperates — the venue is exactly right, the light falls exactly where it should, and the people standing at the center of it all look like they were always meant to be there. Soni & Anuj had that kind of wedding day. The kind where you look at the photographs and feel something catch in your chest, not just because the images are beautiful, but because the joy in them is so plainly, unmistakably real.

Their celebration moved across two venues that together told the full story of a modern South Asian wedding done with genuine elegance. The Marriott Saddle Brook set the opening chapter — a polished, gracious space that handled the early rhythms of the day with the kind of effortless hospitality that a large, celebratory gathering genuinely needs. But it was The Rockleigh — a Platinum Guide venue and one of New Jersey's most breathtaking event destinations — that brought the full cinematic weight of the day home. Nestled in a setting that manages to feel both grand and intimate, The Rockleigh has a particular gift for making a wedding feel like it was designed specifically for the two people at its center, even when the guest count runs high, and the energy runs higher. Soni and Anuj filled it magnificently.

The architecture of the entire day — every timeline, every transition, every carefully considered detail — was the work of Detailed Affairs, a Platinum Guide planning and design team whose name is, it turns out, not so much a business title as it is a promise they keep at every single event. There is a specific kind of trust that comes with handing your wedding day to a planner, and it only works when the planner has earned it completely. Detailed Affairs earns it. They are the team that knows that a great wedding isn't just a great party — it's a sequence of emotional experiences, each one building on the last, each one requiring its own specific attention. From the design aesthetic that threaded through both venues to the logistical precision that made two locations feel like one seamless celebration, they held this day together with the quiet confidence of people who have done this before and still care as much as they did the first time.

The music — which at a South Asian wedding is essentially the heartbeat of the entire reception — was in the masterful hands of M4U Events LLC, a Platinum Guide DJ team that also handled the lighting, which means they didn't just control how the room sounded, they controlled how it felt. That is not a small thing. Lighting and music together are the emotional weather of a wedding reception, and when one team holds both, the result is a night that has a coherent emotional arc — building, peaking, softening, soaring — rather than one that simply plays songs in sequence while the lights stay whatever color they started at. M4U Events understands this deeply, and The Rockleigh glowed and pulsed with it all night long. If guests left with sore feet and happy hearts, M4U Events deserves significant credit for both.

And through all of it — both ceremonies, both venues, every quiet moment between the loud ones, every laugh that happened too fast and every tear that arrived without warning — Aperina Studios was present. Handling both photography and cinematography with a singular vision and a consistency of eye that only comes from a team that sees storytelling as the actual job, not the byproduct of it. There's a reason couples trust Aperina Studios with both formats: when the same creative perspective captures a wedding in still and moving image, the result is a complete story, told without contradiction, without gaps, without anything important left in the margins. Soni & Anuj's day deserved that kind of completeness. These images deliver it.

Two venues, one Platinum Guide planning team, one Platinum Guide DJ handling sound and light, and one studio capturing every frame of it — this is what happens when everyone in the room is excellent at what they do and shows up to prove it.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Anuj when I was visiting Chicago from NYC for work. I happen to be the only one from my company at a conference, and I decided I didn’t want to have dinner alone, so I opened up Bumble, and we ended up matching! My first message to him was “Hey, I’m visiting Chicago and looking for dinner recommendations. It would be even better if you wanted to show me around as a local!” Both of us were tired of making pen pals on the app - you know the ones that talk but never meet - so asking him out worked in our favor!

After that initial weekend, we stayed in touch as friends because neither of us wanted to get into a long-distance relationship. In hindsight, this was a great time to get to know each other as people without the pressures of a relationship. I ended up visiting Chicago again a few months after our initial meeting, he asked me out again, and we decided to give it a shot because we developed a connection despite the distance. From there, it was a whirlwind of flights, video calls, family introductions, and a proposal within the year!

I knew he was the one when I saw him pour into me as much as I did into him, when he loved my family like his own, and when every day with him felt like something exciting was about to happen!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We planned a trip to Hawaii, jam-packed with things both of us wanted to do across the islands. One day, we were on the Big Island, and he kept getting phone calls. I just thought work was really busy. Turns out, he was coordinating with a helicopter company to get us a tour of the island and was asking for their support to help make the most magical proposal! Once in the helicopter, we landed at the base of a waterfall on a cliffside. Anuj walked me closer to the waterfall and got down on one knee! The pilot was in on it and secretly recorded the whole thing :)

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Anuj and I each had a few things we really wanted: a lush traditional ceremony, an elegant and romantic reception, amazing food, and events where our love for each other and our guests was apparent. We found an amazing team of vendors who took the time to understand our vision and helped us create the wedding of our dreams. Anuj grew up in India, and I grew up in America - it was very important for us to incorporate both these things in our wedding.

Our venue was The Rockleigh in New Jersey, one that I’d visited when we were planning my sister’s wedding. Due to the outbreak of COVID, her wedding was an intimate affair at a private residence, but my family always had this venue in the back of our minds. After we got engaged, it was only natural that we went there again, and we ended up getting the last Saturday date left in their calendar. After that, I used Maharani Weddings, Instagram, and personal recommendations for my mood boards and vendor shortlisting.

Each event had its own theme that helped us decide our clothing, accessories, venues, decor, and vendor needs.

Mehendi Mood: Intimate Connections - reconnect with family, blessings, and reflection
Haldi Mood: Elevated Backyard Party - games, impromptu dances, and celebration
Sangeet Mood: Colorful Disco - performances, garba, dance like no one’s watching
Wedding Mood: Royal Affair - lush florals, gold tones, candles, and warmth
Reception Mood: Twinkling Elegance - ivory tones, gold accents, lush greenery

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I wanted to be a red lehenga bride so badly! At the start of my shopping, I didn’t entertain any other colors. But they kept falling flat on me, the reds were too bright and the maroons unseasonal. I tried a variety of embroidery, beadwork, and stone work, and nothing clicked. Just as I thought I would have to give up my red bridal dreams, I came across my lehenga - a redish, pinkish, orangeish, gold tissue lehenga with unique work - that elegantly combined everything I was looking for. And I got all the jewel tones in one dress, rather than just red. Once I saw it, I knew!

When we shopped for  Anuj’s outfits, we did not want to be matchy. We wanted to be complimentary while respecting our individual styles, and I think we accomplished that!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was building something together, taking each of our ideas and making it better.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests traveled from all over the world to celebrate. Both sides stayed in the same hotel, with the youngest generation playing with cousins they’ve never met, and family members practicing their Sangeet dances together. Everyone felt not only the love Anuj and I have for each other, but the love we have for all our family and friends.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Stealing the shoes! In the middle of the ceremony, I realized my side never got Anuj’s shoes since his groomsmen hid them so well. So when the ceremony was over, and his groomsmen revealed the shoes for Anuj to wear before leaving, my dad shot out of nowhere and pounced onto the shoes, grabbing them! It turned into the most entertaining wrestling match between my dad and Anuj’s brother, but we got them in the end!

Another moment was the amazing speeches at our reception, all heartfelt and beautiful. Most especially my mother, who didn’t leave a dry eye in the room!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Anuj never considered himself a dancer, but no one would believe that after the wedding! We spent time choreographing and practicing over 11 dances between the two of us and with other groups. The most laughs we had during wedding planning were practicing our dances!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Connect with your fiancé throughout the planning process and the wedding, both of you have dreamed of finding each other, and now it’s finally time to announce it to all! Add your special touches and make it your own.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I carried pieces from my family throughout the wedding. During my mehendi, I wore my mom’s wedding earrings. During the ceremony, I wore my late grandmother’s nose ring. These pieces kept me grounded and reminded me of the strong women I have come from.
Save this and share it with someone special. Tap the link in our bio—your perfect venue is waiting!

Bridgewater, NJ South Asian Wedding by Saroj Studios

Not all love stories start with fireworks—some begin with a swipe, a conversation, and a connection that quietly blossoms into something unshakeable. Janki & Nishil’s journey reflects resilience, laughter, and a love that shines brightest in the moments that truly matter. For Maharani readers, this wedding was a beautiful celebration of love earned through determination and heart.

Set at the elegant Marriott Hanover, this wedding was a beautiful blend of heartfelt moments and thoughtfully curated details. But what made this celebration truly unforgettable wasn’t just the décor or the venue—it was the story behind it all. Through health challenges and life’s unexpected turns, Nishil stood by Janki’s side as her constant, her calm, and her biggest source of strength. And if that’s not the definition of “the one,” we don’t know what is. Their proposal? Straight out of a love story with meaning woven into every step. A hike at Bear Mountain—symbolic of a promise they once made to each other—became the setting for a new beginning. It wasn’t just about the “yes,” it was about hope, resilience, and everything they had overcome together.

When it came to planning, Janki & Nishil approached it like a true partnership (and honestly, take notes, future brides and grooms). They leaned into their strengths—she handled the conversations and creative direction, he mastered the spreadsheets and logistics. The result? A wedding that felt balanced, intentional, and uniquely theirs. A little teamwork, a little patience, and a lot of love—clearly the winning formula.

Visually, the wedding struck that perfect harmony between classic and romantic. With All Event Decorator bringing their vision to life, the pastel pink and white palette created a soft, dreamy atmosphere. The open mandap design was a standout—allowing every guest to feel fully present for the ceremony (because let’s be honest, no one wants to play musical chairs mid-pheras). It was intimate, elegant, and incredibly thoughtful.

Janki’s bridal look? A timeless vision in red. After a journey across multiple stores in India (and a near “I give up” moment we can all relate to), she found the one. And just like that, everything clicked. With glam by Makeup by Ami, her look was radiant, classic, and effortlessly stunning—the kind of bridal moment that never goes out of style.

But let’s talk about the heart of the celebration—the moments. The first look? Emotional, intimate, and filled with tears that said everything words couldn’t. And the ceremony? One of those rare moments where, despite a room full of loved ones, it felt like it was just the two of them. That kind of connection is something you can’t plan—it just is.

And then came the reception—where the energy shifted from emotional to electric. With Deejay Rish behind the booth, the dance floor quickly became the place to be. Add in delicious bites from Moghul Catering (which, according to guests, was a major highlight), and you have a celebration that satisfied both the heart and the appetite. From their laughter-filled envelope-stuffing nights to last-minute dance rehearsals (where, plot twist, Nishil turned out to be the better dancer), every part of this journey reflected who they are as a couple—playful, supportive, and deeply connected.

Capturing it all was Saroj Studios, which brought its signature storytelling approach to both photography and cinematography. Every frame feels genuine, emotional, and alive—preserving not just the moments, but the meaning behind them.

Janki & Nishil’s wedding is a beautiful reminder that love isn’t just about the big moments—it’s about showing up for each other, especially when it’s hard. And when that kind of love is celebrated? It becomes something truly unforgettable.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

I met Nishil on Hinge. We moved in together a year after dating. Unfortunately, as soon as we moved in I ended up having medical issues with nerve pain and one of my arm barely functioning.  He was my rock during that time, and always made me smile on days I was in pain. I knew right then that he is the one because it is not easy to make me smile when I am crying so for him to be able to do that said a lot!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He took me on a hike on our dating anniversary to Bear Mountains and proposed there. We had gone on a hike when we first started dating, promised to stay active and do more of these. However, due to my health we could not do any of it. Therefore, he took me there to propose to show that once I am better we will do more of these in our new chapter in life.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Our wedding planning was not easy, especially with both of us having different views. We started off by seeing venues. Finding a venue was the easy part for us. The real stress came when we had to find other vendors and create a guest list with our parents. We ended up splitting our work where he did all of the work for his side, and I did it for my side to make it easy. He took care of making Excel spreadsheets, emailing vendors, etc. I took care of talking to them on the call and figuring out the details of decorations, etc. he would then jump in when I had my top three options ready to help me pick. I would say splitting it with each of our strengths is a big help. I am a people person, so I was always ready to call, meet on Zoom, and discuss the details. He is more of an introvert, so he took care of the Excel, guest list, and emails.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted red from the moment I got proposed to. I travelled to India with my parents and got the help of my cousin in India to pick out my lengha. We went to many stores, and I was not able to find the one until I stepped into one last shop before I almost gave up. The moment they showed it to me, I said, “This is it!” Do not show me any other ones. I tried it on, and my parents and cousin also agreed it was the one.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
When we were doing our photoshoot, mailing the save the date cards, and practicing our first dance.  During the pre-wedding photoshoot, we had so much fun, and after that we went to have dinner at a restaurant. It turned out to be a day full of laughter and good food! When we were labeling the save-the-date envelopes, at first it was overwhelming. We had over 300 people on the guest list, so you can imagine the number of envelopes we had to mail. We ended up making it a fun thing by playing music and distributing who does what. I did the putting cards in each envelope, and he would label them one by one. We had fun laughs reading some of the street names, etc. During the wedding planning, I was still going through a tremendous amount of pain due to my health. We could not practice our dance until last two weeks before the wedding. I was freaking out, but he stayed calm and basically remembered all of the steps and helped me learn as well. He doesn’t like dancing, but then turns out he was better than I was! We ended up enjoying ourselves so much during practice.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone loved the food!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our wedding ceremony and first look! The first look was so special for me because I was tearing up the moment I started walking towards him. Our wedding ceremony was special because it felt like it was just him and me, because we both just focused on each other.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
The decor was picked based on our outfit colors, so we went with pastel pink and white. We did an open Madap concept and loved it! It gave everyone a good view, so people weren’t constantly getting up to see the ceremony. We did our first dance songs based on our love story and the experiences we have had so far, so it made it even more special. During our food tasting, my dad, who loves to cook, stepped in and spoke to the chef personally. This made the food completely different, and every single person loved it!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Communicate with your partner before the planning starts! Tell him what you expect from him to support you during the wedding planning. Highly recommend splitting the tasks based on each of your strengths, just like my partner and I did.
Take this as your sign: communicate, support each other, and don’t forget to laugh along the way.

Woodbury, NY Indian Wedding by Riant Films

Some love stories begin with a spark. Lalita & Tushar’s began with a screen—FaceTime calls that slowly turned into something deeper, something undeniable. Long before they met in person, they already knew: this was it. What followed was a proposal filled with intention, surprises, and a breathtaking moment overlooking the Manhattan skyline—setting the tone for a love story that would always feel larger than life.

Their wedding weekend unfolded like a film—layered, emotional, and beautifully intentional. Rooted in the traditions of a Guyanese Hindu celebration, every moment was thoughtfully curated to honor culture while creating an unforgettable experience for their guests. From the vibrant ceremony at Crest Hollow Country Club to the meaningful choice of venues that prioritized comfort, accessibility, and connection, every scene was designed with purpose. Planning and design were expertly orchestrated by Wedding Wishes by Neha. Wedding Design & Decor transformed each space into an immersive experience. And then, the moments you can’t script. The ones that define everything. Under the Mandap, in front of family and friends, Tushar did something Lalita had never seen before—he sang to her. A quiet, deeply personal gesture that turned into one of the most powerful scenes of the entire weekend. It wasn’t just romantic—it was real, vulnerable, unforgettable.

Through the lens of the talented Riant Films, this celebration becomes more than a memory—it becomes a story you can feel. The colors of the ceremony—yellow, pink, and orange—don’t just decorate the space; they move, they glow, they breathe life into every frame. The Mandap, carefully redesigned to complement the outdoor setting, becomes the emotional centerpiece of the film, where tradition and modern vision meet in perfect harmony.

The celebration continued with a rhythm all its own. A backyard transformed into an enchanted garden for the henna night, where lavender outfits, live music, and bubble tea created an atmosphere that felt intimate yet electric. Music and live performances were the heart of the celebration, with performances by Rakesh Yankaran, Ravi B, Angels Caribbean Band featuring Geeta Bisram, Randy Recklez, Babloe Shankar, and Vishale Samlall helping shape the wedding vibe. Performances flowed seamlessly into one another—Bollywood, Soca, Chutney—blurring the line between wedding and concert. A beloved Guyanese Hindu tradition is the “seven curry” spread—featuring seven distinct curries prepared for the wedding day. While this is typically made by family, recreating it at a venue can be challenging. In the lead-up to the celebration, the couple explored several vendors before choosing Fazee’s Delight, whose version beautifully honored the tradition and was thoroughly enjoyed by their guests.

Every detail adds another layer to the story. Lalita’s bridal journey—from her striking red and gold ceremony look to the radiant yellow ensemble she once hesitated to wear, and finally to her timeless Western gown—unfolds like chapters in a visual narrative. Each look, each transition, captured with intention, emotion, and movement.

But what makes this film unforgettable isn’t just the beauty—it’s the feeling. The laughter between friends who became family, the music that carried through every event, the traditions honored with pride, and the love that was present in every frame.

Lalita & Tushar’s wedding isn’t just something you watch. It’s something you experience—again and again, every time the film plays.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We started our romance virtually and met for the first with a Facetime. Tushar and I facetimed for a few months before we met in person. We bonded over many shared interests and had similar goals. Before we met in person, months later, we both knew that this was going to grow into something meaningful.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
While dating, Tushar lived in Orlando, and I lived in Queens, so we made it a priority to see each other at least twice a month. In October 2023, I planned to visit him for the weekend of October 14th, but he unexpectedly told me he couldn’t because his best friend would be in town. I had no idea that this was part of a much bigger plan—Tushar and his family were actually flying to Queens to surprise me.

On the day of the proposal, my sister began giving me a series of gifts and handwritten notes that Tushar had left for me the night before. Each one built anticipation for what I thought was just a thoughtful gesture. Later, a hair and makeup artist arrived at my home to get me ready for what I believed were simple evening plans.

A few hours later, Tushar arrived and told me we were heading into Manhattan for dinner. Still unaware of what was coming, I followed along as he led me to a private rooftop with a direct view of the Empire State Building. There, surrounded by the city skyline and with our favorite songs playing in the background, he got down on one knee and proposed.

Afterward, we called our families and had a private photoshoot on the rooftop to capture the moment. When we returned home, I was surprised once again—our closest family and friends were there waiting to celebrate with us. My best friend had even flown in from Miami to be there.

It was a day carefully planned and filled with meaningful surprises, ending in a celebration with the people we love most.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I poured my heart into customizing the wedding day. I definitely knew I wanted a statement Mandap. Initially, I was going to do a smaller Mandap that focused more on the structure of the Mandap, and less on the florals, but as we got closer to the wedding, we wanted a Mandap that complemented the outdoor scenery so we changed the design. I am very happy we made that change because it set the tone for the wedding decor. On the wedding day, we wanted color, so we selected yellow, pink, and orange, which worked well with the different outfits we had.

I had a hard time visualizing what would look good on me and what I loved in terms of makeup, outfits, and hair. Therefore, I had a lot of trial and error. I am so thankful for the various vendors that worked with us to help us figure out the right style.

When we looked for venues, we tried to select venues where we felt the staff were accommodating and would give our friends and family a great experience. Guyanese Hindu weddings have a very involved timeline and sequence of events, which we tried to honor. Therefore, it was important to find a venue that would be conducive to that. Fortunately, we found a beautiful venue that did so, Crest Hollow. Additionally, we thought the team at Jericho Terrace were welcoming of Guyanese weddings, so we felt comfortable working with their team for our reception. As an added bonus, I had caught the bouquet at that venue years ago, at a family wedding. Lastly, while it would have been fun and different to select a venue in the city, we tried to pick places that were easy for our guests to travel to because we knew we wanted them to save their energy to party.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went into my wedding shopping trying to buy pieces that I couldn't wear if I were not a bride.

For my main wedding ceremony, I knew I wanted a red and gold outfit. There were no exceptions.

In Guyanese Hindu ceremonies, the bride usually comes out first and does a ceremony with her mom and family members. The bride would typically wear yellow here. I initially thought I was not going to do yellow here, and instead do pink, my favorite color. However, once I tried on a yellow, I was sold on yellow. At Nazranaa, I selected a burgundy outfit and worked with the team to customize it and change the base color to yellow.

My aunt, who is like my second mother, was with me for most of my shopping. She spotted a red lengha with a beautiful train and said I should try it on. Once I tried it on, there were no other considerations. That was the lengha. I ended up making a few changes, but overall kept most of the original design.

Prior to my engagement, I thought I was going to go to India for my wedding shopping. However, after shopping at Nazranaa for my engagement outfit, which I loved, I decided to return to Nazranaa because they were very reliable, had great tailoring, and understood my style.

My wedding dress shopping was a bit different and harder. I had no idea what my dream dress was. I knew I wanted a silhouette that only a bride could wear, and since I was going to wear this for my reception, I wanted a bit of sparkle. I was that girl who tried on a hundred dresses but could not decide. However, I ultimately decided on my Ines Di Santo dress when my aunt saw it on a mannequin and asked me to try it on. Once I tried it on, I loved how it fit me and while it had sparkle, it was not too overwhelming. Overall, I loved Vera Wang and Ines Di Santo the most.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Shopping for the outfits was very fun! All of the stores and boutiques we worked with were so helpful. I enjoyed selecting accessories and finding unique pieces.

Booking the various artists was also very fun. We were lucky they were available and able to perform during our wedding weekend.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think our guests were in love with the venue and Mandap on our wedding day. Additionally, we had many popular West Indian artists throughout the wedding weekend. Many guests were excited to see those artists perform live.

Traditionally, the family would prepare a spread called "seven curry", which includes 7 curries for the wedding day. However, at a venue, that is not possible. Leading up to the wedding, we sampled seven curry from many different vendors. However, Fazee's Delight was our favorite, and our guests loved the seven curry.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I knew Tushar used to play the harmonium growing up, so I always asked him to sing, but he never did. However, on our wedding day, under the Mandap, he sang part of a song we used to listen to together for me. It was such a surprise, and I felt so loved during that moment. He was so brave to do that in front of everyone.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For our henna/sangeet night, we transformed my home yard into a colorful, enchanted garden. We did many traditional outfits and customs for most of the wedding weekend, so on this day we tried to have fun. Tushar and I wore lavender outfits with pearls. I tried to find unique foods and decided to have Bubble Tea served fresh on the day for our guests. We also had a live band, the Angels Caribbean Band, featuring Geeta Bisram. They sang many Bollywood, Soca, and Chutney songs. They were so good that some people didn't realize it was a live band.

I considered doing the henna/sangeet at a venue to make logistics easier. However, I love the intimacy and the energy of having the henna/sangeet night at home, and ultimately decided that would work best for us.

On our reception day, the final day, we had a surprise Ravi B performance. He was great! During the reception, he had such great energy and engaged all of our guests, even those who didn't know anything about soca music. What's great about Ravi B is that he has a lot of range - he did Soca, Chutney, Bollywood, Pop, and Reggaeton! He made us feel really special, and he was so kind to our guests after the performance.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
If you are like me and have trouble visualizing elements of your wedding, give yourself sufficient time to try on outfits, visit venues, and decor studios. It helps to see things in person rather than on a Pinterest board.

Get a planner and a day of coordinator! Even if you are a type-A bride, it will be helpful.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I loved the drama of a long veil for both my wedding and reception day. On my wedding day, my red lengha had a long train, and my veil was also long. Prior to walking down the aisle, my sister and cousin performed to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. They did such a great job, and I was so impressed, considering they learned this choreography in a few weeks. Thank you to International Dancer Zaman for putting together this entrance dance for them.

Music and live performances were at the heart of the celebration, with performances by Rakesh Yankaran, Ravi B, Angels Caribbean Band featuring Geeta Bisram, Randy Recklez, Babloe Shankar, and Vishale Samlall helping shape the atmosphere throughout

Old Greenwich, CT Indian Wedding by Unique Vision Studio

Some weddings are meant to be admired. Others are meant to be felt. Teju & Samin’s celebration? It’s the kind you press play on—and instantly get swept into every beat, every emotion, and every electric moment that defined their unforgettable day.

Set against the stately elegance of the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, this wedding comes to life in motion—where grand architecture meets the fluid beauty of rituals, movement, and celebration. The venue’s iconic atrium becomes more than just a backdrop; it transforms into a stage where every glance, every step, and every tradition unfold with cinematic grace.

Behind the scenes, Chandai Events orchestrated a seamless experience that now shines even brighter on screen. Every transition feels intentional, every moment thoughtfully timed—creating a visual rhythm that carries from sacred ceremony to high-energy reception. Their expertise ensures that nothing is missed and everything feels effortlessly connected.

As the video unfolds, Exclusive Events’ stunning floral and décor design reveals itself layer by layer—lush textures, vibrant hues, and intricate details that feel even more immersive in motion. Cinderella Bridez’s artistry enhances every frame, with a bridal look that radiates from soft, timeless elegance to full reception glam—capturing that perfect transformation brides dream of.

The ceremony scenes are rich with meaning—sacred traditions, heartfelt exchanges, and quiet, emotional glances that speak volumes without a single word. It’s in these moments that the video truly shines, preserving not just how everything looked, but the depth of what it meant.

And then—the energy shifts. With DJ USA Events and DJ KKV at the helm, the celebration explodes into life. What begins as a refined evening evolves into a full-blown, high-energy experience, where every beat pulls guests onto the dance floor. Bukhara Grill delivered rich flavors and beautifully presented dishes that kept guests happily circling back for seconds. The music, the movement, the joy—it all builds into a vibrant crescendo that feels impossible to watch without smiling. Captured through the lens of Unique Vision Studio, this video feature is more than a highlight—it’s a storytelling experience. Every detail, from delicate rituals to dynamic dance floor moments, is woven together to reflect not just a wedding day, but the feeling of being there.

Teju & Samin’s wedding reminds us why we love Indian weddings in motion—where tradition and celebration don’t just coexist, they come alive. Where elegance flows into exuberance. And where love isn’t just seen—it’s felt, frame by frame.
