I am not going to lie, I shed a few tears watching this beautiful union between Maharani Lopa and Aashish that was amazingly shot by Smiling Toad Productions. One of the best quotes to come from a family member is seeing a loved one smile a lot more because of someone new in their life. This truly is the case between our adorable couple. Both the lovely wedding and reception was held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center with floral and décor on deck by Dream Occasions. Maharani Lopa (seriously, what a cute name!) was dolled up by Sonia Sandhu while Mantra kept the guests full and satisfied with Indian cuisine. JSM Entertainment was on scene for entertainment. No reception would be complete without a cake and The Baking Institute filled that sugary void. All lighting and event planning once again goes to Dream Occasions. My favorite part was the look on Aashish’s face seeing his bride as he went in for that forbidden kiss! What a moment!

Maharani Lopa on how they met and their proposal :

"My best friend attending his sister's wedding (April 2014) where he was the Reception MC. The next day she called me and told me I had to meet her friend Maya's brother- he was tall, a good dancer, and funny! I asked if she knew if he was single, if he was looking to date someone, or how she knew he would even be interested! She talked to Maya and arranged for us to meet at Maya's birthday party in a few weeks. I attended the party not knowing anyone except my friend. Aashish and I hit it off instantly- we had sooo much in common to talk about, same majors in school, the same tattoo on our backs, and much more. I think I knew he was the one when I first met him, there was something about him that I cannot explain and I just knew.

Aashish made a whole weekend of the proposal. He told me it was all to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. It started with fancy dinner at Embeya and a spa night on Friday. Saturday morning we went to brunch at Longman & Eagle, we had been wanting to go here for so long, then we headed to HeadQuarters, which is where we met! All this time his sister and cousin were decorating his condo exactly how he had specified to prepare for the proposal. We headed home as we were supposed to go to his 'sister's birthday party' that night. When I opened the condo door, there were balloons everywhere, on every set of balloons was an envelope numbered 1-12 (1 for each month we had known each other). Each envelope contained a picture of us with a note Aashish had written on the back. The picture in the 12th envelope was flipped backwards with the note showing first and said "Turn Around"- I turned the picture around and it was a picture of my engagement ring, and as I turned around Aashish was on one knee!! After all was said and done (I actually don't really remember what he said since I was crying), I told him I have to call my parents. He said ok sure, but I have a bottle of your favorite champagne in the fridge, let's grab it and go up to rooftop and you can call everyone. We headed upstairs and my parents, brother, his parents, sister and brother-in-law were all there!!! After we celebrated and took pictures, Aashish suggested heading downstairs to the party room, so we could eat dinner. When we went downstairs our entire extended family was there! After his cousins suggested going out to a bar to continue celebrating with family, when we got to the bar, all of our friends were there- it was one surprise after another and quite possibly the best day of my life!"

I am sure I will be shedding a lot more tears as I share more fabulous Indian events with you all!
