Rockville, Maryland Sikh Wedding by Plum Pictures

Happy Wednesday, Maharanis! I have a visual treat for your today with images by Plum Pictures! Simranpreet and Toby's wedding celebrations coming from the Chesapeake Bay State. Our duo kicked off their celebrations with a wonderful Sangeet night at the Fox Chase Manor, and I have to tell you, I LOVE the bold colors, the festive vibe and the warmth radiating from each and every image! Maharani Simranpreet planned and design her wedding herself and I'm sure there's a trick or two we can learn from the wonderful job she did. The Moment Events helped our maharani turn her dreams into a reality, below are some of my favorites and the gallery is filled with so much inspiration!

Herndon, Virginia Indian Wedding by Akbar Sayed Photography

We are unveiling the colorful day of Abi and Varun! The vibrant sangeet added some bold colors to the wedding celebrations held at The Woodlands at Algonkian, the elegant event space was beautifully decorated with bright drapery and charming multi-colored umbrellas as centerpieces designed by the talented décor team of DMV DECOR. To complement the fantastic décor and ambiance, the bride and groom sat in a charming jhula where they observed the fabulous choreographies of their loved ones.  Extravagant Affairs took care of every detail and executed perfectly every wish of the bride and groom for their pre-wedding festivity. To dance along the sounds of India, the beautiful Abi chose a lively yellow outfit finished off with a side swept hairstyle and added a touch of romance with small flowers between strands. Check out the lovebird’s best moves in the full gallery by Akbar Sayed Photography!

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Hiram Trillo Photography

Today’s last feature hails from the wonderful city of Dallas and is a nod to all things chic, shimmering, and sensational. Planned and designed immaculately by K.I. Weddings, all the puzzle pieces fit together perfectly in this grand finale reception extravaganza. Prashe were the premier decor vendors that oversaw all the wonderful design elements you see in these snaps. Sparkling, floating candles and a multitude of lush floral arrangements adorned every surface at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Our favorite detail had to be the art deco backdrop and cascades of candles that framed the sweetheart stage so stunningly! Breathtaking Maharani Sonal switched up her aesthetic and was gorgeous in a sleek, green lehenga. We rarely see this color gracing the bride, and we are such fans of the lovely reception lehenga hue! The couple excited their guests with their graceful first dance, followed by speeches that brought the newlyweds to tears and buoyant laughter. Meanwhile, Premier DJ USA set up his turntables to whip the crowd into a dancing tizzy! This celebration looked like a absolutely glamorous blast, and we wish we’d scored an invite. Want more of these lovebirds? Head to the full gallery captured by Hiram Trillo Photography to see their entire soiree. And scroll below for our exclusive interview with Sonal!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

It all began in January of 2016 when I thought I would be attending Parth's boss' surprise baby shower. I received an invitation from Parth's colleague with the "baby shower" details - April 9, 2016 at Ink 48 in NYC. When the day arrived, we were greeted in the lobby of Ink 48 and told to make our way to the Penthouse where the baby shower would take place. I was so distracted by the baby shower signs that I had no idea what was about to happen! Minutes later, Parth opened the door to a breathtaking view of the city, thousands of roses, and a photographer snapping away.

In the distance, I saw two crystal champagne glasses, a bottle of champagne, and a table full of pictures and rose petals. Parth walked me over to the table, got down on one knee, and popped the question! Of course I said Yes! We then made our way to dinner, where I thought it would just be the two of us. As we walked to our table both of their families were anxiously waiting. I was so happy Parth was able to get my parents and brother to make it all the way from Texas. The day was absolutely perfect!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

We decided to work with K.I. Weddings in order to make our planning process easier. We can’t thank them enough for making our planning experience such a pleasure. For the most part, we already knew which vendors we wanted to work with. Each one of vendors played an important part during our special weekend and we were satisfied with each and every one of them.

Venue: Hyatt Regency Dallas

Amy was terrific to work with and made sure every request we had was accommodated. I cannot think of a time she did not go above and beyond to get us what we wanted.

Hair & Make-up: Ms. Painted Lady

Alex was amazing! She is the best in the industry and made sure I had a different look for each event. During the weeks leading up to the wedding she was accessible and helped me create the perfect look.

Décor: Prashe

Prashe is in a league of her own. The creativity she brought to the table was unparalleled. We were going for a modern yet classy look and she helped us achieve that. No event looked the same and she was able to create a wow factor each time our guests walked into each room.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I wanted a traditional lengha and visited a few stores until I was able to find the perfect one. My dad actually was the one to pick out my lengha and that’s when I knew it was the one. I wanted to make sure the lengha was red and gold to ensure it had a traditional feel.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Our guest had nothing but great things to say about the wedding which meant the world to us. There were actually a few things that stood out which were brought up to Parth and I from our guests.

Food – This is one of the most important things at a wedding. Guests love to see that you have a variety of dishes and want to enjoy each meal. Thankfully, Gopal Vegetarian Restaurant and Maharaja Indian Restaurant created a variety of dishes that our guests loved.

Décor – Our guests absolutely loved our décor and were impressed each time they walked into an event. Prashe made our vision a reality. We wanted a unique look for our wedding and reception and she was able to turn the room inside out to make it happen. Our wedding included traditional colors (red, ivory, gold, and green) with a modern open mandap, patterned aisle, and tons of candles. After the wedding, Prashe and her team were able to flip the room into a modern/edgy look with tons of mirrors, patterned dance floor, and a bar with the DJ elevated on top.

Music – We hired a live band (Medley Entertainment) and flew them down from NY for our Garba. Many of our guests had not seen this before and were very impressed. Additionally, we also worked with a DJ company called Premier Entertainment who is also based out of NY. Most of our guests were from the northeast and they loved the music that was played throughout our events.

Photo/Video – We used Hiram Trillo Photography and Epique Cinemas. Our guests said Hiram was extremely patient and was amazing to work with. He was great with the family and made sure we got the shots we wanted. Our guests were also in love with the same-day highlight video that was played during our reception. It was the perfect way to recap the weekend and we’ve received so many compliments on how great it turned out.

Venue – Our guests were impressed with the size of the venue as well as each of the ballrooms we held events in. Our coordinator was able to ensure we had a different room for each of our venues, which was important to us. The guests were extremely satisfied with the check-in process and the hospitality of the hotel staff.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

The most important piece of advice I can give any future brides is to live in the moment. Try not to get caught up in all the details and try to enjoy the planning process and wedding for what it is. This is a once in a lifetime experience and it will go by extremely fast. Everyone thinks they have a lot of time once the planning begins, but before you know it, your wedding day has arrived. We had 5 events in 3 days, but it felt like each event flew by. Try and enjoy the weekend as much as possible!

We hope you all have a magical weekend! Don't forget to meet our newest Platinum Guide members!:

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Hiram Trillo Photography

Welcome back loves! Today we celebrate the modern, lavish, and totally dazzling wedding of Sonal and Parth, and believe us when we say this shindig is one for the books! Featuring breathtaking decor and fashions, we know these photos will provide plenty of pretty bridal inspo. We’re obsessing over gorgeous Sonal’s lipstick red lehenga shimmering with couture level embroidery. She looked like a Queen as she posed for pre-ceremony shots. Dapper Raja Parth also looked fabulous in a cream and red sherwani fit for a King! Ms. Painted Lady decked the bride out in sparkling hair and makeup, and her bold red lips, smoky eyes and oversized golden jewelry were true game changers in this sensational ensemble. And did we mention her fabulous golden waist chain? This is the wedding accessory of our dreams, and added such a delicate touch to the regal ensemble. Prashe set up the indoor ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Dallas and incorporated a plethora of fragrant blooms, luscious foliage, and shimmering chandeliers in this truly magical setup. Such a high fashion, chic concept that we can’t stop staring at. The bride floated down the aisle and reunited with her one true love for an emotional ceremony. K.I. Weddings spearheaded planning and design for an ultra luxurious affair mixed in with the deep roots of Bollywood. We have a lot more images in the full gallery by Hiram Trillo Photography to help you get through your day!

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Hiram Trillo Photography

Morning Maharanis! The love between Sonal and Parth in today’s decadent Indian wedding feature is sure to add more heat to this wintery day. Each image captured by the very talented Hiram Trillo Photography paints a love story that we were thrilled to be a part of. The morning of the Sangeet began with a major bridal session, and Ms. Painted Lady adorned lovely Sonal in a voluminous side braid that we’ve been attempting to recreate all morning. From head to toe, this bride was just brimming with sheer elegance. Some of our favorite elements of Sonal’s Sangeet look was her joyful pink and yellow lehenga and tiered, glittering choker necklace. Her designer lehenga top and dupatta trim included so much intricate stitching that was simply mesmerizing under the sparkling lights. No Indian wedding celebration would be complete without the expertise of a wedding planner, and K.I. Weddings was there each step of the way to ensure flawless execution from beginning to end. The venue at the Hyatt Regency Dallas was dripping in glittery, rainbow finery thanks to the creative minds at Prashe. Head into the full gallery by Hiram Trillo Photography to soak in all the love. The snaps captured so many special moments, and the couple’s buoyant Sangeet performances and their jam packed dance floor and will have your pulse racing with excitement!
