There are destination weddings… and then there's Chandni & Rushi's wedding in Los Cabos. Held at the luxurious Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos, this vibrant multi-day celebration was less of a wedding and more of a cinematic experience—complete with a camel-ridden proposal origin story, funnel cakes at the sangeet, and a dance floor that could've powered Cabo's nightlife on its own. We're still recovering, TBH.
From the moment guests arrived, they were swept into a world built on intention and joy, curated masterfully by the planning geniuses at The Storyteller Events. No detail was spared—from themed décor to thoughtfully sequenced events—and trust us, your Pinterest boards will never be the same. Let's rewind to where it all began: Chandni & Rushi's meet-cute at a toddler's birthday party. (We know, iconic.) One test drive in a Tesla later, and the rest is history. Fast forward to their proposal, which Chandni thought was just another fake-out (Rushi's favorite prank on vacations). But in the middle of the Sahara Desert, with camels and a hidden photographer, he popped the question, leaving her speechless and saying yes under the stars. Casual.
The wedding kicked off with a Moroccan-themed welcome night, styled with cozy teepees and dazzling fire dancers—an homage to their proposal. Chandni stunned in "Papa Don't Preach," while custom jewelry from Pernia's Pop-Up added a touch of flair. From there, we entered Chandni & Rushi's Carnival: a sangeet-turned-festival with popcorn carts, cotton candy, Garba under twinkling lights, and custom carnival tickets stamped upon arrival. Oh, and did we mention the bride's family won the Tug-of-War at the Holi-themed Haldi? #Victory
On the beachside mandap, surrounded by fresh blooms from Flower Shop Los Cabos and design touches by Zuniga Decor, Chandni walked down the aisle in a breathtaking forest green lehenga, custom-made by Amrin Khan. Rushi matched flawlessly in a seafoam sherwani, proving that couples coordinate and celebrate. With Karan on Piano performing live as ocean breezes danced through the floral drapery, it felt like a scene straight out of a fairytale. Hair and makeup by Priyanka Patel (Pucker Up by Pri) was perfection across all events, while Styling Trio glammed up the rest of the family. Chandni says she felt like a princess—and honestly, we believe it.
When it comes to destination weddings, the light, the landscapes, and the emotions unfold like a dream—but capturing them with precision, artistry, and heart? That takes serious talent. Enter Amarjot Chana Photography, whose lens didn't just freeze moments in time, but told a story so vivid you can practically hear the dhol and smell the ocean breeze. From the sun-drenched beaches of Los Cabos to the candlelit romance of the reception night, Amarjot's photos masterfully documented the entire journey. The vibrant colors of Chandni's lehenga, the sparkle in Rushi's eyes during their first look, the sand between their toes at the Haldi—it was all captured with a level of care and clarity that made each image feel like a memory you could touch.
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I first recall meeting Rushi during a visit to see my cousin, who was in town for a wedding. Our interaction was brief—just a simple exchange of greetings—after which we did not see each other again. The second time we met was at my nephew’s second birthday party, and that encounter marked a turning point. Later that day, my cousin, her husband, his friends, and I went out to a bar. I noticed that Rushi had recently purchased a Tesla, and I expressed interest in taking it for a test drive. We ended up going on that drive together, and that marked the beginning of our story. I knew he was “the one” when I watched a video of him dancing in a lighthearted, carefree manner at his cousin’s wedding garba. I must have watched that video 500 times that night, laughing each time. In that moment, I realized he’s not like these other guys; he's different in a way that I knew he was someone who could make me laugh for a lifetime.

What I initially believed to be a vacation to Morocco with Rushi and two of our close friends turned out to be one of the most unforgettable and meaningful days of my life. As part of our trip, we embarked on a two-day journey from Marrakesh to the Sahara Desert. On the second day, just before reaching our luxury desert camp, one of our friends began to feel unwell. I grew concerned, especially since he had been so enthusiastic about the couple’s photoshoot his girlfriend had planned for all of us. Due to a sandstorm, we had to make an unexpected stop at a nearby riad before continuing to the camp. A couple of hours later, the weather cleared enough for us to proceed. Upon arrival at the camp, we had very little time to prepare, so Rushi and I quickly got ready and stepped outside. Just then, our friend’s girlfriend informed us that her partner was still not feeling well and had started vomiting. She encouraged us to go ahead with the photoshoot, especially since it had already been arranged and paid for. We went to meet the photographer, and I noticed two camels waiting for us—they were absolutely adorable. We climbed onto them and rode up into the dunes. At the top, I was greeted by a breathtaking setup: a beautifully arranged rug, two chairs, and floral decorations. Still, I didn’t suspect anything unusual. The photographer asked me to stand with my back turned to him, and I complied. Rushi was beside me, and he suddenly handed his phone to the photographer, saying, “Hold on.” Moments later, he tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and laughed, saying, “Stop playing!”
A bit of context: every time we go on a trip, Rushi playfully pretends to propose. So naturally, I thought this was just another one of his jokes. But this time, it wasn’t.
I asked, “Wait, is this for real? Oh my God!” Rushi was so emotional that he could barely get the words out. Of course, I said yes.
That night, we fell asleep under the stars in the middle of the Sahara Desert—and it was nothing short of magical.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We had the pleasure of working with The Storyteller Events to thoughtfully plan and execute every one of our wedding events. From start to finish, each celebration was curated with the guest experience in mind—designed to be distinct, immersive, and, above all, fun. With the help of our incredible planners, we brought our themes to life in ways that not only reflected our vision but added tremendous heart to the entire wedding experience.
Every venue was handpicked to complement the aesthetic and atmosphere we dreamed of. Our first event, “A Night in Morocco,” was hosted poolside at Eden and beautifully recreated the moment of our proposal. From cozy teepee tents to mesmerizing fire dancers, it was pure magic.
The Garba night transformed into “Rushi & Chandni’s Carnival,” complete with live funnel cakes, popcorn and cotton candy stands, and the sweetest candy station. Every detail reflected our love for playfulness and originality, brought to life seamlessly by our vendors and planning team.
Our wedding ceremony was nothing short of magical—set against the stunning backdrop of the Cabo shoreline, with the soulful melodies of KaranOnPiano weaving through the ocean breeze. His performance was truly unforgettable; each note felt like a whispered blessing, echoing the love that surrounded us. In that moment, it genuinely felt like a dream brought to life. Our photo and video team, Amarjot Chana Photography & Cineture, captured our wedding with a warmth and elegance that was simply unforgettable. Their work didn’t just document moments—it preserved emotions, glances, laughter, and love in a way that felt both cinematic and deeply personal. Every time I look back at the photos and videos, I’m instantly transported—each emotion, each moment comes rushing back like it’s happening all over again.
Our reception was a stunning black-and-white affair that truly celebrated what our guests love most—a great party! We danced the night away, living our best lives and embracing every joyful moment. To keep the energy going, we introduced crowd-favorite late-night bites like Midnight Maggi and Fries, which were an absolute hit with everyone. Our incredible MC for the evening, Neegam, masterfully tied everything together, seamlessly curating a perfect rhythm between high-energy entertainment and engaging moments. His games and interactive scavenger hunt had guests laughing, mingling, and on their feet, making sure there was never a dull moment. DJ DoubleJ brought the house down with his beats—his music set the perfect rhythm, and the dance floor never once slowed down. It was the kind of night you wish would never end. And to make the night even more unforgettable, we flew in LifeofaDholPlayer from the UK—their vibrant dhol beats ignited the dance floor and created a magical synergy between tradition and party vibes. Their energy was truly next level!
Hair and makeup by PuckerdbyPri was nothing short of enchanting. Each look was crafted to match the tone of every event—and honestly, I’ve never felt more like a princess!
Details meant everything to us. With the support of our talented planners and vendors, we made sure each event had its own signature element—from a ticket booth at our Carnival Sangeet to a live Chana Chor Garam station at our wedding. Our guests had an unforgettable time, and knowing they felt the love and energy we poured into every moment meant the world to us.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to wear a green lehenga. When I visited Amrin Khan’s boutique in Vadodara, Gujarat, I was immediately drawn to a stunning coral and ivory lehenga displayed on a mannequin—it was love at first sight.
During my consultation with Amrin Khan, I expressed my desire to have that exact design recreated in green. She assured me it could be done, and I placed my full trust in her vision. Months passed without seeing the final piece, and I had no idea how the color transformation would turn out. All I could do was trust the process. When the lehenga finally arrived, it exceeded all of my expectations. It was everything I had envisioned—and so much more.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was dreaming up the themes for each event and watching them come to life in the most magical ways. We poured our hearts into every detail—from choosing the perfect venues to curating vibrant guest experiences—and that creative collaboration was incredibly fulfilling. Seeing our vision take shape with the help of our planners and vendors felt like storytelling through celebration.
Whether it was recreating our proposal under the stars or turning a Garba night into a whimsical carnival, every step reminded us that this wasn’t just about planning a wedding—it was about sharing our love story with everyone we care about in a way that felt unmistakably us.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests especially appreciated the food, music, and overall ambiance of the events. Many of them personally reached out to share how intimate and heartfelt the wedding weekend felt. They also expressed how much they enjoyed their time at the Hard Rock Resort, seamlessly blending celebration with relaxation. For many, it became a truly memorable weekend filled with joy and lasting memories.
Our guests also loved how every moment felt like stepping into a different world—each event was a unique experience, full of personality and thoughtful touches. The care and creativity in every detail made them feel like they were part of our story, not just attending a wedding. What feedback did we get the most? “We’ve never been to a wedding like this before!”
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
One of the most memorable moments for us occurred the day before our guests began arriving and the wedding events commenced. We ordered room service for breakfast, sat together on the balcony, and took a quiet moment to reflect. As we looked at each other, we made a promise to fully embrace the weekend ahead, cherish every moment, and let go of any stress or worries. In the end, we can truly say that we kept that promise. We enjoyed the entire weekend wholeheartedly, with no worries and no regrets.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Rushi and I have always dreamt of a wedding where we could combine our love for bringing people together and the beautiful scenery of a beach in Los Cabos. When we think about our big day, we are overwhelmed with all the love and support that our families and friends have shown in helping us celebrate our big day in paradise! Each event was so thoughtfully curated to celebrate the special moments that have made us the people we are!
Starting with the welcome night, our theme was Moroccan Night, and we focused on adding aspects of what Rushi proposed. We added elements of a teepee tent where guests can get their mendhi done, and also incorporated fire dancers! It was truly a night in Morocco in Los Cabos! My welcome night outfit was a beautiful ensemble from Papa Don’t Preach and custom jewelry from Pernia’s Pop Up Shop!
When we envisioned our Haldi, we wanted it to be by the beachside, completely lined with the beautiful blue skies and the sparkling blue waters of Cabo! With both of our sides eagerly waiting to put Haldi on us, we made sure to include a flower toss with all of our favorite people! Given our strong Gujarati background, our families wanted to make sure we incorporated our family's recipes into this beautiful event - in fact, our moms had handcrafted the Methi na Gota recipe that was passed down generations all the way from the States, and we had live stations that spoke to our true first love - FOOD! Needless to say, with Chef Hari Dev’s expertise and the generation-old recipes, our Haldi event was truly a colorful and tasty affair! Of course, we can’t have just Haldi - without having a Holi party! We bought special Holi colors from a Mexican vendor & made sure to get our guests custom shirts to match the theme - and the side they were from! We included a bunch of different games to help the Holi Party flow, and in case you were wondering, the bride's side won the Tug of War match!
For the Sangeet night, we wanted to highlight our love for GARBA and our theme was Chandni & Rushi’s Carnival! This event was filled with live food stations, our favorite street food, and carnival carts bordering our dance floor! We incorporated funnel cakes, cotton candy, candy stations, and even a Popcorn cart that spoke to the theme & added a true carnival feel to our event. To go one step ahead, we even printed out carnival tickets for guests to bring to the event as an entrance ticket, and we had our planners stamp everyone with an entry stamp! To end the night, we had Garba under the twinkling lights, and it was by far one of our favorite events of the entire wedding weekend!
Our wedding day was quintessential, and it was filled with everything and everyone we love! Our theme was florals and greenery, and it complemented our outfits perfectly. Our wedding outfits were bespoke, finely curated by Amrin Khan, who’s based out of Baroda, India. Another beautiful touch to our outfits was the custom jewelry pieces that my mother had bought long before, saving them for our special day!
To end the beautiful wedding, we had a starry reception and cocktail hour at the most beautiful spot in the resort, overlooking the water and scenery on the beaches of Los Cabos. We wanted the reception to have white drapery and beautiful single bud vases flowing throughout the venue. The highlight was our hanging white drapery over the dance floor, adding a beautiful glow to the overall theme. I wore a beautiful white lehenga by Mahima Mahajan and Rushi in a fitted tux.
