West Orange, NJ Indian Wedding by The Made in Heaven

Some love stories feel like they were written long before the couple ever met—and for Priya & Remi, theirs began on a Caribbean island during the very first days of medical school. Priya still remembers the moment she first noticed Remi flying past island traffic on a white dirtbike, cinematic in every sense of the word. Later that same day, fate intervened again when the two crossed paths at a small food stand perched beside a cliff overlooking the ocean. After waiting in line for lunch, Remi looked up, smiled, and invited Priya to join him. What started as a simple lunch became the beginning of a love story rooted in friendship, resilience, and unwavering companionship.

Through endless nights of studying, hidden beach adventures, and sunset bike rides, the two became inseparable. But beyond the romance was a deeper bond forged through life’s hardest moments. After losing her father just before starting medical school, Priya entered this chapter carrying unimaginable grief. Remi became her steady anchor—offering patience, comfort, and quiet strength while she navigated both heartbreak and the intensity of medical training. Together, they built a relationship grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that they are always stronger side by side.

That same intentionality and emotion carried into their breathtaking wedding weekend. Wanting a venue that felt timeless and transportive, Priya & Remi instantly fell in love with the old-world elegance of Pleasantdale Chateau. Nestled among ivy-covered stone walls and storybook architecture, the historic French château felt less like a venue and more like destiny. Working alongside planner Maranda Ashkar, the couple transformed the weekend into a beautifully curated fusion of Jordanian and Indian traditions, where every event reflected a unique atmosphere while remaining seamlessly connected.

The festivities unfolded across some of New Jersey’s most stunning venues, including Royal Albert’s Palace, The Madison Hotel, and Pleasantdale Chateau itself. The Sangeet burst to life in rich jewel tones, vibrant music, and nonstop dancing beneath glowing chandeliers. Family and friends filled the night with infectious energy, setting the tone for a celebration rooted in joy and togetherness. For the Indian ceremony, the aesthetic shifted into soft romance with delicate florals and elegant pastel hues. Debbie’s Flowers created an ethereal setting that honored tradition while feeling fresh and contemporary. Every detail reflected the couple’s vision of timeless sophistication with modern refinement.

Then came the grand finale: a monochromatic Western ceremony at the château that felt effortlessly chic and impossibly romantic. Clean lines, cascading orchids, and graceful calla lilies transformed the space into a scene of understated luxury. From beginning to end, the entire weekend carried an almost magical sense of ease—as though every moment had aligned exactly as it was meant to.

Fashion played its own starring role throughout the celebrations. Priya stunned in designs by Liz Paul, Riantas, Seema Gujral, and Castle Couture, effortlessly transitioning between bold traditional glamour and sleek contemporary elegance. Each look felt intentional, elevated, and completely reflective of the bride herself. The emotional heartbeat of the wedding, however, came from the families who made it all possible. Priya & Remi credit both of their mothers for pouring endless love, time, and effort into every detail of the weekend. Their support helped create a celebration that was not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful.

Guests were immersed in a weekend filled with music, culture, laughter, and unforgettable moments on the dance floor. With entertainment by Hank Lane Music and live performances from the Liberty Band, the reception became the kind of celebration guests never wanted to leave—the type where “one more song” turns into an entire night of memories.

Capturing every emotional glance, joyful embrace, and cinematic detail was The Made in Heaven, whose photography and cinematography preserved the weekend with an editorial elegance that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the celebration.

What made Priya & Remi’s wedding truly unforgettable wasn’t simply the grandeur of the venues or the beauty of the décor—it was the heart behind it all. Their wedding was a reflection of healing, resilience, culture, and love. A reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that fully embrace every layer of who you are and every chapter that brought you together.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
It was one of the first days of medical school, on a Caribbean island, and I first noticed Remi while on our way to class when I saw him flying down the road passing traffic to school on a white dirtbike- it was like something out of a movie. Later that day, I bumped into him after class at a small area with food vendors where students would get lunch, and it was next to a large cliff overlooking the ocean. We had both waited in line to get food and randomly turned into each other, and when he looked up, he smiled and asked me if I wanted to eat lunch with him. That simple invitation changed everything, and we soon became inseparable. We studied side by side through long nights for endless exams, but we also chased sunsets, biked hidden trails, and found quiet beaches that felt like they belonged only to us.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
In medicine, we often lose our 20s and 30s lost in books, exams, and hospitals. For me, I was also lost in grief from losing my father right before I started medical school. I felt alone and abandoned, and at 11:11 every day, I always wished for an angel to find me and save me because what I felt was becoming unbearable. Remi quickly became my anchor and made space for my sorrow, not rushing me through it, reminding me I am not alone. His quiet strength and patience carried me through medical training. As I fulfilled my father's dream, it helped me heal. Through both the intensity of our medical training and the joy of exploring the world side by side. Today, whether we’re puzzling over a complex ICU case or travelling through a remote corner of the globe, our connection thrives on curiosity, courage, and the unshakable feeling that we’re always better together.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We wanted a venue with character, something that could transport us to another time. When we saw the venue, a historic French château, with its timeless beauty and old-world charm, we knew it was the perfect place. Aside from the beautiful venue, it felt like divine intervention when we signed the contract with Fred.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The planning process was both exciting and emotional. We wanted every element to reflect both of our cultures and families. While it was at times overwhelming, seeing it all come together into a weekend of pure joy made every moment worthwhile. The credit truly goes to both of our amazing mothers, who spent the money, time, and effort to see that everything was perfect. I am deeply grateful for that.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We wanted our guests to feel our joy, love, and deep appreciation of their presence on one of the most important days of our lives. We wanted to be surrounded by music and the warmth of family. Blending Jordanian and Indian traditions, our wedding was rich in culture and soul with unforgettable moments of dance and laughter that brought everyone together.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our design was all about timeless elegance with a modern touch. We wanted something classy, contemporary, and clean, and an atmosphere that felt sophisticated yet effortless. We chose orchids and calla lilies for our centerpieces, adding grace and simplicity.

From beginning to end, the day felt so charmed. It was beautiful, effortless, and filled with a kind of luck that made it seem as though it had been waiting just for us.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

Plano, TX Indian Wedding by Photo Kumar

There’s something incredibly powerful about a wedding that feels deeply personal from the very first moment—and Sarah Zephaniah’s celebration was exactly that. It wasn’t about following a template or checking boxes… it was about creating a day that reflected them—their faith, their cultures, and their undeniable connection. And trust us, Maharani readers, this one was filled with heart, intention, and just the right amount of wow.

Set within the beautiful Prestonwood Baptist Church, the ceremony carried a sense of reverence and grace that instantly grounded the day. There’s something about a church wedding—the music, the stillness, the emotion in the air—that makes every moment feel magnified. But this wasn’t just a traditional ceremony—it was a fusion of cultures woven together with intention. From the intricate mehndi designs by Mehnaz Ranmal, adding a touch of South Asian artistry, to the seamless blending of traditions throughout the day, every detail felt like a reflection of both worlds coming together beautifully.

Behind the scenes, Events by Rama brought everything to life with their signature expertise. Known for creating seamless, culturally rich celebrations, their planning ensured that every transition—from ceremony to reception—felt effortless. And paired with Elegant Affairs DFW’s stunning floral and décor, the aesthetic struck that perfect balance between elegance and warmth, creating a space that felt both elevated and inviting.

And then… the celebration truly began. Because once the formalities were over, Sarah & Zephaniah’s wedding shifted gears into full-on celebration mode—and it did not hold back. With Outspoken Visions and DJ Raj leading the charge, the dance floor quickly turned into the place to be. Add in cold sparks by Full House Media (because every couple deserves their main character moment), and suddenly the entire room felt like a scene straight out of a movie.

Guests were treated to a delicious fusion of flavors with catering by Jimmy’s Burger and Grill and Bawarchi Irving—because if your wedding menu doesn’t have a little bit of everything, are you even doing it right? And just when everyone thought they’d seen it all, Petite Sweets stepped in with desserts that were almost too pretty to eat (almost). One of the most unforgettable touches? A live portrait artist, Maura Ehresman, capturing the magic of the day in real time. There’s something so timeless about watching your love story come to life on canvas while the celebration unfolds around you—it’s the kind of detail guests talk about long after the last song plays.

And speaking of capturing moments, Photo Kumar ensured nothing was missed. From emotional ceremony shots to high-energy reception moments, their team documented the day with a cinematic, storytelling approach that brings every feeling right back to life. When your photography and cinematography team understands both the emotion and the energy of a wedding, you know you’re in good hands. Magiclick Dallas elevated the event by incorporating a charming photo booth where guests could capture fun, memorable moments against a variety of playful backdrops.

What makes Sarah & Zephaniah’s wedding so special isn’t just the beautiful details or the incredible vendor team—it’s the feeling. The authenticity. The way every moment felt true to who they are. It’s a reminder that the most unforgettable weddings aren’t about perfection—they’re about connection, intention, and creating a space where love feels seen, celebrated, and shared.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We were introduced through cousins who had been friends back in India. It wasn't long into getting to know each other that it just felt right, the kind of connection that's hard to put into words but easy to feel.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
It was a complete surprise! I was told we had a family photoshoot at a location in Toronto, Ontario. Little did I know I had a surprise. Surrounded by our immediate family and closest friends, he got down on one knee and I had absolutely no idea it was coming. We celebrated the engagement with a beautiful dinner at the CN Tower — the perfect end to the most unexpected and wonderful day.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We were so fortunate to have Rama Bhat as our wedding planner — she took care of so much and connected us with the best vendors. The planning process involved visiting multiple venues, exploring decor inventory, several makeup trial runs, and endless Pinterest boards that we were thrilled to finally bring to life. It was a labor of love, and every decision felt exciting because we were building something that was truly ours.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My bridal lehenga was actually selected over the phone while my mom and mother-in-law went shopping in India! I always knew I wanted something extravagant — you only get married once. I didn't see it in person until it arrived in the US, and the moment I did, I immediately fell in love. It was a stunning dark purple/burgundy that felt so authentically me, and it tied in beautifully with our overall wedding color theme of purple.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part was having the freedom to make it entirely our own. My husband and I could choose whatever we wanted without restrictions, and that made every decision so much fun. At the heart of it all, we wanted the celebration to be a moment where both our families truly came together and had the time of their lives and that vision kept us energized throughout the entire process.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Without a doubt, the Sangeeth ceremony was the highlight for our guests. We had a full-on dance battle between the bride's side and the groom's side — it got everyone involved and turned into the most incredible party. The energy in the room was unmatched. The food was also a huge hit — Jimmy's Catering absolutely delivered, from the cocktail snacks to the dinner buffet. Not a single complaint, only compliments!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Looking around and seeing so much family who had flown in from overseas — that image stays with me. These are people we don't get to see often, sometimes for years at a time, and having them all in one room to celebrate with us was incredibly emotional and meaningful. That togetherness is something we will carry with us forever.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy every single moment — it goes by faster than you think. And please, don't stress the small stuff. On the day itself, the little imperfections fade away, and what remains is the joy, the love, and the people around you. Soak it all in.

Maharanis, if you’re envisioning a fusion wedding, remember your love story can be uniquely magical.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met freshman year of college! We happened to be in the same dorm building and, through a stroke of luck, happened to meet about halfway through the year. Four months of friendship later, and we started dating! And it's been 11 years since

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I knew the proposal was coming, and I told Jason that my only 2 requirements were that the time and place had to be a surprise! Jason planned it with a few of my girlfriends, and then proposed when we were on vacation in Seoul, South Korea!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I was so so lucky to find wonderful and accommodating vendors! Special shout-out to Neha, our wedding planner, who not only helped us find those vendors but also really helped manage my stress levels- especially the month before the wedding when last-minute issues came up!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My little sister officiated our vows ceremony, and her speech was so amazing that multiple people told me it was one of the best wedding speeches they'd heard! It's very hard to make me cry in public, but she had me tearing up after just a few minutes, and I'm so proud of her for doing such an outstanding job

Plan a fusion wedding to celebrate all traditions and create something uniquely you.

McKinney, TX Indian Wedding by Hanna Hix

Some weddings feel like a perfect blend of cultures, emotions, and unforgettable moments—and Oviya & Gabriel’s celebration was exactly that. It was romantic, vibrant, and just a little bit unexpected in all the best ways… the kind of wedding that keeps you smiling long after it’s over.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of D’Vine Grace Vineyard, this wedding felt like a dreamy escape—rolling greenery, open skies, and a setting that effortlessly balanced elegance with warmth. It’s the kind of venue that already feels magical… and with the right team, becomes unforgettable. Enter Rama Bhat Events, who once again proved why they’re a go-to for seamless, elevated celebrations. From start to finish, every moment felt intentional and beautifully orchestrated, allowing Oviya & Gabriel to fully enjoy their day without missing a beat. When a planner understands how to blend logistics with emotion, the result is pure magic.

The décor by Elegant Affairs DFW brought the entire vision to life with a perfect mix of romance and sophistication. Think lush florals, soft textures, and thoughtfully designed spaces that framed each moment without ever overshadowing it. It’s that delicate balance that transforms a wedding from beautiful to breathtaking.

Oviya’s bridal look was effortlessly stunning, thanks to Ms. Painted Lady, who created a glam that felt modern, radiant, and timeless. It’s the kind of look that doesn’t just photograph beautifully—it feels like you, which is exactly what every bride hopes for. But what truly made this celebration stand out were the experiences woven throughout the day.

Guests were treated to a delightful chai cart by Dallas Chai Cart (because honestly, chai at a wedding? Always a yes), adding a cozy, cultural touch that everyone loved. And just when you thought the vibe couldn’t get more fun, Mariachi Entertainment stepped in, bringing a lively, cross-cultural energy that had guests fully immersed in the celebration. It’s these unexpected elements that turn a wedding into an experience.

Of course, the dance floor had its moment too. With LG behind the music, the energy stayed high all night long. From classic hits to crowd favorites, the dance floor became the heartbeat of the celebration—filled with laughter, movement, and those unforgettable “one more song” moments. Adding a seamless touch to the day’s flow was IGport Limo, a Platinum Guide member known for ensuring smooth, stylish, and stress-free transportation. Because let’s be real—arriving in style is part of the experience, and when logistics run effortlessly, everything else just feels better.

And capturing every single moment with an artistic, storytelling lens was Hannah Hix Photography. Their work feels organic, emotional, and beautifully composed—turning fleeting moments into lasting memories. It’s not just about the big highlights, but the in-between moments that truly tell the story.

What makes Oviya & Gabriel’s wedding so special is how naturally everything came together. The elegance, the energy, the cultural fusion—it all felt authentic, joyful, and deeply personal.

Take this as your sign: embrace mixing traditions and creating a celebration that is uniquely yours.
