Clearwater Beach, FL Fusion Wedding by Diego Stuart Films

If beachside breezes, cinematic sunsets, and a dance floor that never quits are your love language, Shivani & Ryan’s wedding is about to steal your heart. Set against the sparkling Gulf waters at the incredible Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, this was the perfect canvas for a celebration that blended coastal romance with vibrant Indian tradition—and the result was pure Filmy Friday magic.

From the very first frame captured by the talented Diego Stuart Films, it’s clear this wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a story unfolding in waves. Shivani & Ryan’s same-day edit feels like a love letter to sunshine and soulmates, layered with emotion, movement, and just the right amount of dramatic slow-motion (because what’s a wedding film without that epic entrance shot?).

The venue provided a dreamy oceanfront canvas for every event—from a lively sangeet to a heartfelt ceremony and a reception that shimmered beneath Florida skies. With Eventrics Indian Weddings at the helm, every moment flowed seamlessly. Known for their expertise in orchestrating large-scale Indian celebrations with precision and poise, the team ensured that each transition—from ritual to revelry—felt effortless.

Utopian Events transformed the space into a coastal-meets-classic wonderland. It was the kind of setup that makes guests pause mid-conversation just to take it all in.

Shivani was radiant, thanks to Beauty Marked, whose hair and makeup artistry gave her that flawless bridal glow that somehow survives humidity, happy tears, and hours of dancing. (A true achievement, honestly.) From her intricate mehndi by Henna Allure to her sweeping bridal entrances, every detail came together beautifully.

Let’s talk about energy. Awaaz Entertainment delivered a baraat that could probably be heard from space—in the best way possible. The beats were bold, the dancing was unstoppable, and by the time the reception kicked off, the dance floor was already primed for a full-scale celebration. Add in delicious bites by Saffron Caterer and a photo booth experience by The Gala Photo Booth, and you’ve got a guest list that left well-fed and fully entertained.

Joseph Kang Photography captured the still moments—the stolen glances, the laughter between friends, the golden-hour portraits that belong on a cover.

That effortless fusion of cinematic storytelling and beachfront vibrance. Shivani & Ryan’s wedding proves that when you pair expert planning, talented creatives, and a setting as breathtaking as Clearwater Beach, magic is practically guaranteed.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
As fate would have it, Ryan found himself at a Covid wedding in Chicago in May 2021, invited by a colleague he knew from Accenture. The bride, a longtime friend of Shivani’s from pharmacy school, had always dreamed of setting up one of her single friends in hopes of sparking a lasting romance. Ryan's dance moves weren't quite enough to win Shivani over, but a mistakenly "stolen" late-night coffee gave him the perfect opportunity to ask her out for a drink instead. Just a day before Shivani was set to return to Philadelphia, Ryan asked her on their first date, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Shivani had hoped for a proposal during their trip to Spain and Portugal in June 2023, but Ryan had bigger plans. A month later (and after a near-disastrous last-second derailing of his secret surprise), Ryan gathered several friends who had flown in and hid in the Planetarium. On a picture-perfect day with the Chicago skyline in the background, Ryan got down on one knee and asked Shivani to marry him at the exact spot where they had first met.

After a resounding "YES!" from Shivani, the couple was further greeted by friends and family in the West Loop to celebrate their engagement.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We really let Eventrics take control over the timeline and we focused on finding our favorite vendors. Having curly hair made the hair piece of the weekend a little more stressful, but I looked at Instagram for inspo, made sure I had a trial set in place, and I was so so happy with the end result. For us, Eventrics was able to make sure we thought of everything before our wedding weekend so that if something were to go wrong, we were ahead of it.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted to get my dress in India. So my masi, mom, and I went to Bombay and we fell in love with Shyamal & Bhumika. We also shared that we both came from the state of Gujarat which I loved. I wanted to stick with Red as that is traditional, and I wanted a timeless piece. We were able to find the most bejeweled Lehenga and I was thrilled.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Working with Eventrics. I looked forward to our meetings because they quickly became friends with my husband and I.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think the guests loved how smoothly everything went throughout the weekend. Our team was able to make sure our guests knew where to be. They also loved how we were able to mix both of our cultures together over the weekend. Lastly, the food was a major hit!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My husband's reaction to seeing me do classical indian dancing, Kathak, for the first time in real life. I did a solo dance during our Friday Welcome Party and he was just floored. I'll never forget his reaction!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Kinjal and her team from Utopian Events were amazing. Our guests were floored with the reception decor and said they had never seen anything like it. They were able to go above and beyond for what we wanted and within our budget.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Trust the process and trust your wedding planners. Try not to be a bridezilla because the things you stress out about are probably minimal in the grand scheme of things.

Head over to Instagram and tell us your favorite Filmy Friday moment. We want to know.

Santa Barbara, CA Indian Wedding by Lumière by Aishia

There’s something about Santa Barbara that already feels cinematic—the ocean breeze, the golden light, the Spanish-style architecture—and when Meha & Rovan chose the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort for their South Asian celebration, they didn’t just host a wedding… they staged a full-on coastal masterpiece.

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this wasn’t going to be your average beachside affair. Under the expert guidance of Pree Events, the weekend unfolded with precision and polish. Visually, Aqua Fusion transformed the beachfront setting into a floral dreamscape. It felt elevated, immersive, and effortlessly luxurious.

Meha was the definition of radiant. With hair and makeup by My Fair Bride, her look was soft yet striking—glowing skin, perfectly defined features, and styling that carried beautifully from ceremony to reception. Every detail felt cohesive and refined, enhancing her bridal fashion without overpowering it. And when she stepped into the sunlight? Pure magic.

The baraat brought the energy—and yes, we mean ENERGY. Savannah Rose Carriages added a regal touch, turning the groom’s entrance into a moment that felt straight out of a fairytale (with a little Desi swagger, of course). Guests danced their way toward the ceremony space, setting the tone for a celebration that would not slow down anytime soon.

Masala Spice delivered a catering experience that had guests going back for seconds—and probably thirds. When the food is that good, you know people are going to remember it long after the last dance. Speaking of dancing, Desi Mix kept the vibe electric, ensuring the dance floor stayed packed from the first beat to the final song.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Boogey Lights elevated the reception atmosphere with dynamic lighting that shifted the mood from romantic to high-energy celebration. Rentals by The ESC Productions completed the visual story, tying together every design element into a cohesive, unforgettable setting.

And then there’s the storytelling. Lumière by Aishia captured both photography and cinematography for the weekend, and the result is nothing short of breathtaking. Their ability to blend natural coastal light with emotional intimacy created imagery that feels timeless yet modern. Every laugh, every quiet glance, every high-energy dance move—it’s all preserved with artistry and intention.

Meha & Rovan’s Santa Barbara wedding is proof that when you combine destination charm with thoughtful design and a powerhouse creative team, the result is incredible. It wasn’t just beautiful—it was immersive, joyful, and unapologetically celebratory.

San Francisco, CA Fusion Wedding by The Eventides

If ever there were a venue made for a grand love story, it would be San Francisco City Hall. With its sweeping staircases, gilded balconies, and architectural drama that practically demands a cinematic entrance, Anisha & Abhilash chose a setting that matched the scale of their celebration—and then elevated it even further. Their fusion wedding in San Francisco was elegant, emotional, and layered with thoughtful detail from start to finish.

Their story unfolded in true modern romance fashion, but the wedding itself felt timeless. With Opal Event Planning at the helm, every moment felt seamless and intentional. From guest flow to décor placement, the planning team ensured the grandeur of City Hall never overshadowed the intimacy of the couple’s connection.

Visually, this celebration was nothing short of breathtaking. Saba Decor transformed the space with florals that complemented—not competed with—the venue’s ornate architecture. Lush arrangements softened marble textures, while carefully curated design details created a balance between modern refinement and cultural richness. The result? A reception that felt like stepping into a dream sequence.

Anisha’s bridal fashion was a study in contemporary South Asian elegance. She selected ensembles from Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, blending modern silhouettes with traditional craftsmanship. Abhilash complemented her beautifully in attire from Manyavar, bringing a regal polish to the celebration. Together, they embodied the essence of fusion—not just in culture, but in style.

Beauty played its own starring role. Dolled Up By Lulu ensured Anisha’s hair and makeup struck that perfect balance between soft glam and bridal radiance. Her look enhanced her natural features while holding up flawlessly under City Hall’s dramatic lighting (and trust us, those balconies are not shy about spotlight moments). Intricate mehndi by Nishu Jain of Navkaar Henna added a layer of tradition and artistry, grounding the modern setting in cultural roots.

And then came the food—the true love language of every South Asian wedding. Guests were treated to a culinary experience by Jalsa Indian Catering and Sakoon Catering, offering flavors that were both comforting and elevated. Plates were cleared quickly, compliments flowed freely, and we’re willing to bet more than a few guests went back for seconds.

Music and atmosphere were carefully curated. Synchronicity Strings infused the ceremony with live instrumental elegance, creating a romantic soundtrack that echoed through the grand hall. Later, Kingh Official took over the reception, transforming the marble-floored space into a high-energy dance floor that kept guests celebrating well into the night. Because what’s a fusion wedding without a little bit of classical strings followed by a packed dance floor moment?

Every arrival and departure was handled in style thanks to Ambassador Limo Service, while Social Elegance ensured guests felt attended to with polished hospitality throughout the evening.

Of course, none of these moments would live on quite so vividly without The Eventides, whose photography and cinematography captured the grandeur and intimacy in equal measure. Their lens didn’t just document the architecture or the outfits—it captured glances across balconies, laughter echoing under domes, and the quiet pauses between celebrations. The kind of storytelling that feels immersive long after the last dance.

Anisha & Abhilash’s wedding proves that fusion celebrations don’t have to choose between tradition and modernity—they can honor both with confidence. When intention meets collaboration and cultural pride meets creative vision, the result is pure Wow Factor.

Cancun, MX Indian Wedding by Saptapadi Studio

Experience the beauty of Mala & Anush’s big day—now unveiled on the Platinum Guide Blog!

reception couple portrait, plum bridal lehenga, black tuxedo groom, elegant evening wedding style, modern south asian fashion, luxury wedding reception, stylish couple portrait, formal wedding attire, sophisticated wedding photography, contemporary bridal fashion

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

We were introduced by my best friend, Shelly, and his brother Sachin. They were medical school classmates and good friends who brought their friends and family together often. One of those times, Anush, I crossed paths and stayed in touch...and the rest is history!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Anush was living in New York City, and I was visiting from Philadelphia for Memorial Day Weekend. We had our religious engagement a few weeks prior, so I had a feeling Anush had something big planned. However, when I came up on Friday, and we had a lowkey dinner, I thought it wasn't going to be the proposal weekend just yet...

The next morning, he asked me to meet him at his place before brunch with his friends. I came dressed in a casual brunch outfit, so I was surprised to see him in a blazer - he even hinted that I should change into something nicer, which he never does! Now I was a little suspicious, but New York does have upscale brunch spots, and his friends are quite fashion-forward, so I thought it could be a hint to meet those standards. I changed, and he came by in an Uber to head to brunch.

Then of course, Uber had car trouble...Anush seemed a bit stressed now. He called another Uber to take us to brunch, citing that his friends were already there and that we were running late. On a typical day, I am the one stressing about being late, and he would be the one staying calm and stress-free, so I was definitely surprised but again thought nothing of it.

We get to the rooftop and head upstairs - the hostess tells us our table is in the back corner and walks us through the restaurant past other diners. As we keep walking toward the back, some of the diners have their phones out and are smiling at us - I knew something was up! And of course, as we turned the corner, there was a MARRY ME sign and flowers set up in a secluded corner area with the NY skyline in the background! Anush, of course, got down on one knee while a photographer captured the perfect moment. Then we spent the rest of the long weekend checking out more of the city and sharing the great news with friends and family!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I have been lucky enough to be a part of Dream Shaadi for 6 years - a wedding planning company based in the DC area and run by a good friend, Sumeet Bagai. Through my years of experience, I knew what priorities I had when it came to vendors and the types of personalities I wanted to work with for our big events. Since we had plenty of family in India, we had one large religious ceremony in Chennai, India and a fun 3-day party and reception in Cancun, Mexico. For a couple that loves to travel, we ended up having a double destination wedding/reception, and we were so, so lucky that Sumeet helped us plan everything.

For our Mexico celebration, we had 3 main events and picked 3 different types of themes for each. The first day was a welcome party, and we found a cool all-white outfit idea for Anush - so we built the theme around it! I also wore white (and gold), and we had the decor reflect white, black, and accents of gold/neutrals. Since we wore white, the guests could wear "bright" (colors) to make everything go together nicely.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My favorite color is blue -for my Indian wedding, my sari was a gorgeous blue one from Tulsi Silks. So for this epic celebration and vow ceremony, I got a custom outfit made with multiple shades of blue in it as well from Harshita Singhvi's Shades of Blue collection.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The weekly meetings with Sumeet, duh! Of course, other than that, I enjoyed working on "projects" with Anush, our brothers, our families, and select friends. For example, we planned themes and other details together as a couple, dances with the brothers/cousins, ceremony details with the parents, and so much more. We also liked both site visits and all of the dance practices - small moments that end up being like the "calm" before the actual moment. Sometimes dance practice also brought a lot of laughter and teamwork as we work on a common goal and get better and better with time. I'm also not a huge fan of trying on and shopping for clothes (neither is Anush) but we still had a nice time spending time with family on these tasks and taking breaks with yummy snacks and other activities when needed.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Two things come to mind - 1) was the fun method of bringing people out to the middle of dance floor during the welcome party: we had our MC say custom rhymes that applied to a group of people (let's say guests who are at their first indian wedding or our high school friends) and then a song clip played indicating that those folks should come out and dance with us. It was a huge hit because people loved that they could identify with one or more of these special groups to us and spend a fun moment with us in the limelight 2)

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our vows, of course - I had come up with some general topics to touch on when I said mine, including fun references to all of Anush's favorite things (NBA, Marvel) and things we liked to do together. Anush, on the other hand, blew me and everyone away, but came up with thoughtful, sweet words completely on the fly. The weather, view, and other details were also absolutely perfect during our Vow Ceremony, followed by the most gorgeous rooftop dinner event. On top of that, Sumeet was our talented "officiant", which was meaningful as he has been a big brother, mentor, friend, and planner to us over the years.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our reception evening was an homage to our love of travel and the various places we have lived, traveled together, and so on. Many of our friends and family also felt connected to these places, and we featured themed ways (like travel postcards!) to connect with us. During the reception, was also when our brothers gave fantastic speeches, our parents said some really nice words, and our best friends sealed the deal with fun memories from our past. Just like our cross-cultural upbringing of being Indian American and having such a diverse group of friends, our dances all featured English, Tamil, Spanish, and Hindi music (often mashed up), and everything came together in an epic fashion.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Get a planner! It doesn't matter if you are detail-oriented and have a vision - it's nice to just have another person or team on your side that understands your vision and vouches for your ideas when it comes to complex family-related decisions or dealing with vendor-related issues. As a couple, it's necessary to be in the moment and enjoy things instead of stressing out - so with a planning team handling things in the background, we were able to truly enjoy every moment! On top of that, a good planner just knows how to save you money and work with your budget at every stage. Highly recommend!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
We wanted to certainly shout out two vendors that were extra special to us - Dynasty AVE and Saptapadi Weddings. I have worked with Dynasty extensively through my time as a wedding coordinator, and so many of them have become good friends with us over the years.  The other vendor, of course, is Saptapadi Weddings - I also had the privilege of working with them at several destination weddings - Federico, Poncho, and Hector have become such familiar, friendly faces that it was nice to have them at our Mexico events. They kept us relaxed and brought out the most beautiful moments through film and photography. Not only are both vendors our friends, but they are just amazing at what they do and go above and beyond all expectations.

Maharani brides, if you’re dreaming of a destination wedding, share this with your planner.
