How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met in school. I went over to his apartment because his roommate was hosting a mixer for a club that I was in. I met him there. He asked me if I wanted to see his new 3D printer, and then he promptly spent the next 10 minutes geeking out about it while I pretended to be interested and supportive. I can't remember when I started liking him. We started off as friends, and I just enjoyed spending time with him. We liked the same movies, food, and brought out each other's goofy side. I realized early on in our relationship that he was the one. He is super caring, supportive, always pushes me, and loves Taco Bell as much as me haha

I thought we were going to an after-hours night at the Philadelphia art museum, but once we got there, he said lets go around towards the river/ garden to take pictures. We went up to the side pathway to a more private area where you could see the sunset. There were candles along the walkway - my brain thought that someone had left their candles behind, but once we passed them and got towards the center of that space, he looked at me and got down on one knee. I tried calling my whole family when this happened, and no one really picked up the phone, which was annoying, but turns out everyone was in Philly at the Mulberry for a surprise party along with all our close friends.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I watched a lot of videos on TikTok and Instagram to gather ideas. I also stalked our vendors and saw their previous work, and used all of that as input. My wedding planner was a great resource in bringing together a dream team of vendors who worked very well with one another. It was nice to have everyone know each other’s working styles and be friendly with one another. They were like a well-oiled machine. I had a lot of fun going to different stores in Gujarat, Mumbai, and Delhi when looking for my outfits. I went in with minimal planning and just looked for something that really stood out to me.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My mom had suggested going to Anu Patel’s studio in Gujarat. I wasn’t familiar with her work, but had heard of her. I went in wanting a red lengha since my wedding was going to be in the fall, and I wanted to really play with the fall colors as the theme for that day.
When I got there, I was blown away by all the outfits that were on display. I loved the details, the colors, and how each piece looked different and unique. Anu and her assistant Krupa worked with us. Anu listened to what I liked about each outfit and then was able to take those elements and add other elements to create my wedding lengha. I was able to see the drawing within a few days, and she captured everything so perfectly. I was so grateful to work with someone who loves their craft and really cares about their brides. I felt like I could trust her throughout the process. I was never worried about the outfit being done correctly or on time.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
planning my outfits, makeup, hair, and jewelry. I had such a great time shopping with my family and working with my mom to figure out the fits for me and my bridesmaids (their outfits were done by Miss Queens in Anand, India)
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Food, Decor, overall experience. There were tons of photo opps set up that everyone got tons of photos. The decor was incredible; the wedding design and decor team killed it. Everyone also had a great time dancing with those music-based light-up bracelets (like the Coldplay bracelets). The most popular feedback from our friends and family was that you could really feel that love all weekend between the bride/groom and between the families. You could really see everyone's excitement
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Dancing with my family, friends, and husband at my sangeet. We spent months preparing for this moment, and the memories that led up to this moment make it feel even more special. We hired an amazing dance instructor for our dances, and it was a lot of fun getting together every few weeks and practicing. Seeing all our friends and family come together at our home, where we would have a 2-hour practice and then have some dinner and hang out afterwards. It just added to the excitement of what was to come.

I had so much fun taking photos at Taco Bell for our pre-wedding shoot, going back to a place that holds a special place in both our hearts, haha
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
It's hard to find the middle ground with soo many voices during this time. I think having 3 non-negotiables for both you and your future partner will help; it's exhausting to fight every battle. So in this way, you can at least get the things that matter the most to you.

Planning a wedding is SO much work; having a wedding planner - someone who is in your corner during the whole process will make things feel a little better. It's great to have someone running the show on your wedding day so that you and your family can really enjoy the events after all that hard work. If you have the budget for one or even a day of a coordinator, you'll have someone looking out for you!
