Sometimes the best love stories begin with a swipe. For Jasmeet, it all started on a dating app during her final year of optometry school while rotating through Hartford, Connecticut. New to the state, she needed someone to show her around—and Mark turned out to be the ultimate tour guide and so much more. Through moves, rotations across New York, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, and even the pandemic, these two proved that love (and great coffee) does conquer all. And yes—Mark won her heart and mornings by brewing her coffee every day. That, my friends, is true love.
Fast forward to a dreamy getaway in Paris, where Mark remembered Jasmeet’s offhand joke about the "ultimate proposal" in front of the Eiffel Tower. A few years—and one very thoughtful photoshoot—later, that exact dream came true. Mark popped the question with the Eiffel Tower standing tall behind them, proving once again that when he listens, he listens. Their wedding at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun was a breathtaking, all-inclusive blend of tradition and tropical luxury. Jasmeet, ever the planner, brought her wedding vision to life with the help of resort coordinator Nuria and the exceptional team at Tulipania, who understood the assignment and delivered a décor dream—on budget, no less. From the blush mandap draped in florals to the lavender-themed reception, every detail was steeped in style and significance.
The Mayian featured sunny rooftop views and a floral green backdrop. For the Mehndi, vibrant drapes, hanging umbrellas, and LED lights set the mood, paired perfectly with Jasmeet’s pink and green outfit. Speaking of mehndi, Loto Mehndi truly worked magic on her hands with designs that were as intricate as they were personal. The Jagoo exploded with color: a jhula, bright linens, plush pillows, and a sparkling LED dance floor that kept the energy high. Jasmeet wore white to tie it all together, proving her designer eye was in full force. When the ceremony began, the Sikh rituals unfolded under a serene sky, framed by the endless ocean. Gama’s dreamy décor transformed the rooftop into an oasis of tradition, while DJ Mehul spun the perfect soundtrack from ceremony to reception. And oh, that reception! With a lilac gown as her muse, Jasmeet brought the lavender theme to life—think floral bouquets, a two-tier Oreo and red velvet cake, and all the fun: photobooth, fireworks, ice cream station, and confetti galore. It was the “let your hair down” moment she’d been waiting for.
And how could we not spotlight Jasmeet’s gorgeous bridal transformation? Thanks to the talented beauty team at Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun Spa, she glowed effortlessly through every event, from mehndi to farewell. The cinematic brilliance of Romanzadeserves a standing ovation. Their photo and video team didn’t just document the wedding—they told a story. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We meet of a dating app called okay Cupid. While I was on my rotation as an optometry student in my final year . My first rotation was in Hartford ,CT! It was my first time in CT and I needed someone to show me around. after my 3 months together I travelled to NY, PA, NH and we managed to stay together through all of that and Covid.
I think I knew he was the one when he started making me coffee in the morning! I hate mornings and mark makes my morning something to look forward to!
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
On one of our earlier dates I jokingly mentioned a Paris proposal would be the ultimate proposal! It’s the city of love and pictures in front of of the Eiffel Tower would be the best proposal in my opinion
Mark remembered that one conversation and when we went on vacation to Paris he pooped the question during a photoshoot in front of the Eiffel Tower! It was the perfect proposal!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Everyone was fabulous! My wedding coordinator Nuria from the resort was fabulous she made my life and wedding planning stress-free! The decor team was able to bring my vision of everything I wanted to life and helped keep it within my budget as well! The decor was stunning I was very happy with everything! Hair and makeup was fabulous they did a great job getting me the hair and makeup I wanted!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted to do the traditional red wedding lengha! Everyone always thought because I loved pink I would get a pink lengha! But the red just pops on the photos! And having the blush pink bridesmaid outfits and in the decor brought everything together!
I got my outfit from India! Yes I made the trip to India with my mom for all my outfits! Thankfully my Nani, my massi and my cousin sukhraj were also there to help pick out all my outfits including my wedding lengha
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Personally my favourite part was decor! Every girl dreams of planning their wedding and decor is a major part! Working with tulipania was amazing they really helped bring my wedding vision into reality
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think everyone enjoyed the venue! Doing an Indian wedding at an all inclusive resort was definitely the right decision! Everyone had a great time
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My favourite part was the reception I think most of my worries were gone and finally could let loose and have fun ! And seeing everyone get on the dance floor with the confetti was perfect!
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For the mayian event we focused on the yellow decor on the rooftop we had a beautiful green backdrop with flowers . We had beautiful colourful drapes providing shade and extra colour.
For the mehndi we added umbrellas to hang off the ceilings along with led lights giving Indian vibe and style ! We had pink and green drapes along the gazebos to match my green and pink outfit!
For the Jagoo I wanted to make everything very colourful so I had a colourful backdrop with a jhula keeping with the Indian style and vibe! The tablecloths alternated between bright pink and blue tablecloths, colourful pillows along the white couches My dress was white to bring all the decor together!
We also had an LED dance floor with changing light colours which was perfect for this event
Finally the reception was lavender to match my outfit again! We had to get all the fun stuff from photo booth to ice creams station , to firework sparklers and confetti for the dance floors!
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Get a wedding planner/ day of coordinator ( and treacle coordinator if you do a destination wedding ) they are life savers ! They will save your sanity and you will really get to enjoy your big day without a lot of stress!

All my outfits and jewellery were from Phagwara, India! I loved all my outfits and jewellery!
My mehndi was done my lotus and they did a fabulous job
Venue was royalton splash Rivera maya Cancún an all inclusive resort which was absolutely the best decision the resort was the perfect place for a destination wedding
Cake - we got a double layer cake with one layer as Oreo and the other layer as red velvet! Both are our favourite flavours covered in lilac flowers
Bouquets - beautiful blush and white flowers to match my bridesmaids
