It was a long time coming for Sruthy and Ankur, whose sweet nothings began in the 9th grade through AOL, but in the words of our Maharani, “it wasn’t until 14 years later that (their) paths would cross again”. And we are so glad it did because it resulted in a stellar, out-of-the-world (see what we did there?) wedding that we were simply in awe of. Therese Cole Hubbs from Electric Karma planned and designed this multi-event fete. A&A Video Productions were the masterminds behind the phenomenal photography. Royal Sonesta made for a grandiose Sangeet venue, where hues of bright pinks, greens, and blues lent a gleeful vibe. “I had a general vision of what I wanted, and for the Sangeet and Garba, we wanted rich colors”, recalled Sruthy. Rao Factor added a ton of oomph through the stage decor, where fuchsia Kairi motifs adorned matching box cushions, and the backdrop was simply surreal. Towering blue metallic curtains were juxtaposed with gathered sequin lavender drapes. Decorated blue carts and blue hanging paper lanterns were cute elements that prevailed all over the ballroom. The grand piano added a romantic feel, especially noticeable in the shot where Sruthy’s piano recital had Ankur feeling both shy and ecstatic! Sruthy worked with Almas Tejani Desi Couture to have her outfits made, and for the Sangeet, she donned an ornate fuchsia lehenga set, and paired it with a statement gold and pearl choker. Hina Khan did her magic through artistic Mehndi designs for the bridal party. Ankur looked dapper in a pinstriped navy blue sherwani, with embroidered antique gold touches on the collar, cuffs, and buttons. An elated Sruthy reflected, "DJ Yogi from Karma DJs was amazing, and he really kept the party going and played all the type of music we requested.” Texas’s top Indian resto, Madras Pavilion, served authentic gourmet Indian cuisine, and the vibrant soiree came to a close to pave the way for the big day!
