Maharani Ambreen is getting ready to tie the proverbial knot with the Raja of her dreams, Altaf, and with hair and makeup extraordinaire, Beauty by Anh, by her side, she's sure to look flawless as she takes the leap from Miss to Mrs.! Her elegant white lengha sari is a stunning choice, and we love the pop of pink she's added to her look with her lip color. FengLong Photography captured these precious moments as she put the finishing touches on her ceremony look and then revealed just how picture perfect she was to Altaf in a first look portrait session. You can see all the unforgettable highlights from her nikkah at the Atlanta Northeast Jamatkhana by visiting the complete inspiration gallery. I'll be back later today to fill you in on all of her incredible reception details!
Maharani Ambreen on her hair and makeup:
"While planning for the wedding and after I had gotten all of my outfits for the wedding, I went through several hair and makeup styles on Pinterest to pick the perfect look for each event. I knew Anh Bui was the perfect makeup artist for me because she was able to bring out my natural beauty, making me feel good inside and out."
On choosing her dream lenghas:
"Before I went to India, I had decided a color scheme and the style of outfits I wanted for each event. Due to the time limitations of our trip I was only about to design a few of my outfits. While shopping in India for the wedding, I instantly fell in love with my reception outfit lengha because it literally made me feel “beautiful” inside and out."
On Raja Altaf's romantic proposal:
"Although I have heard many romantic proposals stories, I feel like my proposal was just perfect because it showed me that he knew exactly the type of person I was. On Friday May 31, 2015, my brother told me there was a food truck festival at the Botanical Gardens in Memphis and pleaded that I go with him. My brother said that one of my dad’s customers had given him two free tickets and said that these tickets would give them access for free food tasting, which pretty much convinced me since he knows how much I enjoy food. When we arrived at the parking lot, there were hardly any cars. It was 96 degrees and the sun was shining bright with no clouds in sight. After we walked inside, I asked the concierge where the food tasting event was being held and she said that it was being hosted in the rose garden, which really made me excited because I love the smell of roses. As I walked to the rose garden, there was no indication of a food tasting event. However, there seemed to be someone hiding behind the red rose bush, whose head kept bobbing up and down. I told my brother there might be a little kid hiding behind the rose bush to scare us or something and I did not want to walk any closer. However, he encouraged me that there was nothing there and insisted we keep walking. As I finally got closer, to my surprise Altaf was waiting on his knees in front of a sign on the ground that said “Will You Marry Me” outlined with rose petals. My mouth was hanging open with tears running down my cheeks and I could see that he had been here for a while because his face was red from the heat of the sun and it didn’t help that he was wearing a blazer.
While on his knees he said:
Although I cannot promise a life without struggles
I cannot promise you an easy pathway, which leads away from change or growing old.
I can promise all my heart's devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that's ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.
After being speechless for many seconds, I finally found the voice inside to shout out “yes”.
He picked me up in his arms and turned me around. That moment was truly magical for me."
See you back here in a bit, Maharanis!
