Good morning Maharanis! We kick off this Thanksgiving week with an Indian wedding that's all about tradition, family and loads of delicious food! This decadent event takes us to Long Island, New York where we meet Maharani Sahiba and groom Vijay. Their Sikh love story begins with a beautiful outdoor mehndi party decorated in tons of color and gorgeous fabric canopies by DESIGN HOUSE. All the events you're about to see are especially noteworthy because the bride, an event planner by trade, organized everything herself!
Photographer Gio takes us to the party, where Habib's Salon artfully draws mehndi on guests. The bride, who wanted a "farmhouse in Delhi" feel, treated party goers with a traditional Punjabi meal that included makki di roti, sarson da saag, dal tatdka and goat biryani -- YUM!
