Happy Tuesday, Maharanis! Today I have an exquisite Indian wedding bash from North Attleboro, Massachusetts. We received so many wonderful wedding photos from Nicole Chan Photography, that this is going to be a six-part treat! For the the first post, we visit our bride's family home for the pre-wedding sangeet. This lively outdoor sangeet took place the night before the couple's traditional Indian wedding ceremony, as friends and family came together to celebrate the union of "a Bollywood lover meets a house music lover." Needless to say, that means there was a lot of dancing!
I love the energetic splashes of color, especially our groom's stylin' purple kurta! As Maharani Shruti says, fate brought the couple together through a mutual friend in August 2010, and on their first unofficial "date," the two seemed hooked on each other. Read groom Rishi's hilarious take on their first car ride home after these gorgeous photos!
More from Raja Rishi: "Shruti drove me home and I remember being half asleep and hearing “Bahara” playing in the background; funnier than that was hearing SHRUTI singing along to it completely off-tone and driving like an old lady. Regardless, after being dropped home I made sure to text her saying “Thanks for the ride, Aunty." Before I knew it, we were texting each other non-stop and she CLEARLY was obsessed with me. Let’s just say I sort of liked her too :)."
Yeah, pretty darn cute, right? Let's see what our wedding day will bring us next!
