Bently Reserve Reception by Ambiance by Tejel + Wedding Documentary

A Maharani should know that when it comes to wedding decorations, it's easy to simply use color to completely transform a room.  What I love about this reception, other than the fact that the venue is at the gorgeous Bently Reserve in San Francisco's Financial District, is how well the colors are tied to together.  I don't just mean from flowers to cakes to the reception stage.  Actually, this Maharani totally rocks her reception colors... by wearing them!  The purples and blues you see in the centerpieces perfectly match this Maharani's purple and blue contrasting lengha, bangles and even the adorable little flower in her hair.

From Maharani Punam:
After the extremely romantic proposal, we had 9 months to plan our June 18th fairy tale wedding. As a young girl I dreamt of how I would want my wedding to be and knew that I wanted it to be chic and elegant. The event planning started with the purchase of both of our wedding outfits in India. The outfits were embossed with a flourish pattern that I fell in love with and decided to incorporated it as a theme throughout the wedding in the invitations, schedule of events, lighting on the ceiling, table cameras, and the bar signs for the signature drink. I wanted to have an even flow of colors to match throughout our special day so I infused everything with ivory/champagne and gold tones. Choosing the venue was a task in itself. The venue we finalized was this amazing little gem in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District. Our vision of the perfect day had come to life. Both Hemil and I were ecstatic and guests were amazed with the ambiance, décor, and food. The memories will live with us forever thanks to the terrific job done by all of the vendors and especially Wedding Documentary for capturing every moment with precision. It was the single most important day of our life. We were marrying our soul mate, our best friend, the love of our life. We made a commitment to each other for better or worse – sickness and health – we are now bound together forever.

Congratulations to Punam and Hemil!

San Francisco Indian Wedding Ceremony by Wedding Documentary

There is nothing posed or rehearsed about this wedding, but rather the genuine emotions and the exact moment-by-moment expressions were captured with great precision in these photos by Wedding Documentary.  I love the ivory and cream colors used the decorate the mandap which gives the traditional Indian wedding ceremony a very chic and elegant feel.  And as much as I love a mega-watt Maharani smile, there is something about that subtle, coy smile signature of an Indian bride that is so timeless and beautiful!

It's not over yet...the chic elegance carries on into the reception! Stay right there!

NYC Reception by Shira Weinberger Photography

I don't think I've ever seen tiny little taxicabs like the ones used to give guests their table assignments at the reception, but I am absolutely in love with it! It's such a neat idea that Mona, Parth, and their wedding coordinators from Elite Event Management came up with, along with the incredible ice sculpture of the NYC skyline by Jimmy’s Artistic Creations! Pairing those decorations with the beautifully lit reception hall must have made Mona and Parth and their guests feel like they were stepping into a completely different world. But I think what really made the reception so spectacular was how much fun everyone was having! Just looking at the pictures at how happy Mona and Parth are and how much they and their guests were enjoying themselves on the dance floor makes me so excited! When there's fist-pumping music, shimmering silver and gold streamers flying around, and a bride wearing her brand new husband's tie AND playing the dhol, you know it's going to be a good night!

Congratulations Mona and Parth! See you bright and early tomorrow morning, Maharanis!

Bay Area Indian Wedding by Wedding Documentary

Enter: Maharani Punam.  One look at her, and you will agree with me that the anticipation was totally worth it.  These stunning photographs from Vijay Rakhra of Wedding Documentary capture her exquisite bridal look so beautifully-- from the gorgeous diamond ring to the lavish lengha to the groom's great style!  Looking at hi s perfectly fitted white and red sherwani and at her gorgeous lengha adorned with gold design, I can totally see why this bride did all her shopping straight from India.  With big brown eyes and an absolutely lovely smile-- this bride has completely stolen my heart in an instant!

These outfits need an equally gorgeous mandap, and I'll reveal it in just a second!

San Francisco Indian Wedding by Wedding Documentary

I hope you Maharanis are ready to be excited this fine morning because we are getting started with some absolutely gorgeous getting-ready photos.   These spectacular photos from the very talented Vijay Rakhra of Wedding Documentary capture every little sparkling detail like I could never have imagined.  My eyes are glued to the screen today and I am not only completely tantalized by them, but totally awe-struck.  I am so in love with the ruby red, gold and diamond set and their sparkle just does something to me-- and I have to catch my breath!  From head to toe, this Maharani has every little detail all set and ready to go.  From those simply sophisticated ivory heels to the matching gold toned lengha to her groom, who looks so sharp... I am just dying to see the bride!
