Featured Fusion Wedding : Intira & Vikram

Monday, Monday, Monday….well, we have just the wedding to chase the Monday blues away!  Trisha Cranor, of Working Brides, put together one of the most charming Indian fusion weddings, I have ever laid eyes on.  Intra and Vikra had an intimate, traditional wedding that fused her Thai family with his Indian roots.  Take a peek…

Soooo much goodness today, we are just getting warmed up.  Stay tuned!

Featured Fusion Wedding : Intira & Vikram II

After you get married, people will ask you, “Is there anything you wish you would have done?”  Well, my answer is always, “No” because I truly cherished my wedding day.  If there is one tiny, winey doubt that creeps in, it is to have had live music at my ceremony.  Traditional, romantic, and the perfect little touch.

Featured Fusion Wedding : Intira & Vikram III

If you are just tuning in today, you will notice a sleeker look for Maharani, and this totally adorable Thai/Indian fusion wedding.  Our intern, Sapna once said, “Some of the cutest desi brides, are not even desi!” And, when you lay your eyes on Intira, that will definitely be the case!  I love this regal looking mandap that takes you back to Jaipur.  Looks like it is straight out of a movie!

Reception finale on the way….back in a flash!

So, I must say….I ab-so-freakin-lutely love this idea by Working Brides and Partyland Events & Flowers.  They did a quick costume change at cocktail hour, and transformed the ceremony room into the reception room.  I love, love, love this idea of leaving the mandap, and transforming it into the stage for the sweetheart table.  Isn’t it well, sweet?!

From Trisha, of Working Brides:

They opted to simply have a luncheon and with the use of bold colors and a traditional mundap they really were able to have their DREAM WEDDING!! You see sometimes its not always about the glitz and glam. Bride & Groom both hold Ph'd's and money was really not a factor, they simply wanted something that was authentic to them.

I met this couple about 5 months before their wedding and we selected their venue rather quickly. They wanted elegance and simplicity. Once the venue was selected taking Intira to meet Partyland was next on the list. We selected a brand new mundap, which was rich in tradition. Something I had never done before, but made perfect sense for this couple. With the burst of color and the elegant fuchsia linens and orange overlays we were set in no time!!

The ceremony was mainly a hindu ceremony, but we splashed in a Tea Ceremony to fuse in some of Intira's rich culture. After the ceremony guests dined on a fusion of Indian and Thai inspired dishes.

Congratulations to our sweet bride and groom, and Working Brides for sharing this wedding with us!
