Indo-Canadian Rani: Local Indian Fashion Find!

When we started wedding planning, I was a bit anxious about where I was going to find my wedding lengha. Thankfully, my family decided we'd be heading to India - the experience of it all was really important to my parents and I'm really looking forward to it.


 
As it turns out, I could've found something amazing right here in Calgary. Indian fashion franchise Crossover Bollywood Se opened up just a few months ago, and it carries every Indian designer imaginable and every outfit is one-of-a-kind. The store owner, Aman, was an expert at reading my tastes and basically gave me the best shopping experience ever.

Aman was amazingly knowledgeable too! She has her own line called Javeda, and can work with you to create something customized just for you. Talk about making me feel at ease - while I'm in India, I know won't be feeling as overwhelmed as I've been anticipating - if I don't find what I want, I can always come back home and have Aman make it for me!

I love mendhi artists who can work with thin and intricate designs, particularly those talented enought to make up the designs as they go. I had two potential mendhi artists in mind a few months ago, and neither one of those looked like it was going to work out for me. Feeling a bit anxious, I turned to friends for help and they definitely came through for me.

Based off of recommendation from a friend, I met with Calgary mendhi artist Shelina. I immediately felt at ease, and without any hesitation whatsoever, put my deposit down to book her. Shelina understood my style, and offered her advice on the look I was going for.
 
Moreover, she was extremely professional and came prepared with samples of her work, which was a great variety of detail for every style. I am so confident in her abilities and excited to see what kind of designs she comes up with for me!
