We are thrilled to bring you the incredibly glamorous wedding of Maharani Naina and her Maharaja Rohit, captured by the talented artists at Joie Cinematography & Photography. From the very first moment of the film, we were transported to the gorgeous festivities, and our breath was truly taken away when the beautiful bride descended the magnificent staircase at Addison Park to meet her groom for their first look. Both the ceremony and reception took place at Addison Park, and Elegant Affairs outdid themselves by transforming the venue into a lush, romantic garden, complete with a spectacular blush-colored floral wall. There are so many incredible moments from this wedding, from the couple's emotional vidaai, decadent food from Moghul Catering, and send-off in a vintage Rolls Royce. The centerpiece of the film of course, is the gorgeous couple. Naina had a number of drool-worthy wedding looks, including a royal red and gold embellished lehenga and a fashion-forward seafoam green and navy blue ensemble, both from Frontier Raas. Her makeup and hair were perfectly done by Marissa Pascone and Dawn Gomez - We hope all you brides-to-be find inspiration in Naina's incredible looks! Naina, could you tell us about your and Rohit's proposal story?
My husband proposed February 28, 2015 at the Brooklyn Bridge reenacting the scene from Kal Ho Naa Ho where Rohit is falling in love with Naina (coincidentally our names). The movie came out the year that he and I met and it meant a lot to us. A specific scene from the movie was filmed at the Brooklyn Bridge and that is exactly what Rohit reenacted that day during the proposal in front of all our family and friends. It was perfectly orchestrated, especially with a choir singing Kal Ho Naa Ho on the bridge. At our reception, Rohit performed the scene from the movie where he professed his love for me as that happens in the movie as well.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The minute we walked into Addison Park, Rohit and I fell in love with the extravagant foyer and double staircase with the checkered floors. We knew that with the vibrant colors of an Indian wedding against the black and white elegance would really pop. Hair & makeup was such an easy experience with two of my favorite artists. Dawn Gomez blew me away with multiple different hair looks between the Sangeet and the Wedding/Reception. She made me feel incredibly beautiful. Marissa Pascone did a fantastic job with my makeup as usual! Dawn and Marissa were incredible! Also, Elegant Affairs made our decor vision come true. The blush flowers and decor allowed my red outfit to really stand out and they were absolutely wonderful in producing a high quality result while leaving me worry free! They also created creative food carts at our Sangeet which really jazzed up our Sangeet venue at Pines Manor in Edison, New Jersey.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was definitely working personally with our vendors to nail down details about decor, food and music. We loved going through the details of flowers, mandap design, and especially having lots of different varieties of food through our different wedding events.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Yes! One of my favorite moments was during the reception when Rohit surprised me with a special performance with our bridal party. He not only danced with his groomsmen and amazed me with his dance skills but also reenacted another scene from our favorite movie Kal Ho Naa Ho, which was the inspiration for our proposal as well. I was totally blown away.
