Hey, Maharanis! Do you LOVE looking at images of glittering lenghas and showstopping reception decor? How about browsing through galleries of glorious Indian wedding inspiration? Would you love to have the chance to share your knowledge and style on our blog? If you answered yes, then this may be the PERFECT FIT for you!

We are looking for an awesome, enthusiastic editor to join our Maharani Weddings team to help create fabulous content for our site. This wonderfully wedding-tastic person will ideally have some professional writing experience as well as a keen ability to navigate programs such as Photoshop and WordPress. As a growing company, we are constantly expanding and refining our site to be the premium Indian wedding resource, so we want to find a brilliant new editor who can bring a fun, fresh voice to our readers. Additionally, we are seeking an editorial intern to devote one or two afternoons a week (for a total of around 6 hours a week) to help us with a variety of tasks: writing, correspondence, and special projects.

So, here is how to apply:

  1. Send us an email to editors@maharaniweddings.com by May 17th with the following info:
  2. Current resume
  3. A  brief letter introducing yourself and a list of your favorite blogs and why you love them
  4. Writing sample: Choose one image from Maharani Weddings and write a paragraph on how you would present this image to our audience.
  5. Just a tip: Make sure your personality shines through!  We dream of writers who love Indian weddings as much as we do, so if you have mandaps, lenghas, and jewelry on the brain, this is the job for you!

This is a part-time position, 8 to 16 hours per week.  We are a small, fast-moving company and there is always room for growth, so this position is long-term. We’d love it if you lived in the San Francisco Bay Area near our headquarters, but it is not required.

We can’t wait to find the next Maharani Weddings editor!

Now that you’ve seen the Atlantis, Paradise Island‘s grand exterior, let’s take a closer look at why it’s the perfect place for a Maharani to live out her destination wedding fantasy! I know the sheer size of the resort can be intimidating, but the Atlantis can help you plan the most intimate or most grand of weddings. Ceremonies can take place on a secluded beach, seaside pavilion or in a lush garden setting. And don’t you worry about feeding your guests: the resort’s catering team includes an Indian banquet chef for the most authentic Indian cuisine in the Caribbean!

For more inspiration, take a peek at this featured Indian wedding (and ceremony!) from 2010 that took place at the Atlantis — gorgeous, right?

If you’re even curious about what the Atlantis, Paradise Island can do for you and your Raja, I highly suggest you check out their Website for more info. There are new special wedding packages and offers all the time!

I hate to leave the Bahamas, but I still have to show you the conclusion of this dreamy Laguna Beach Indian wedding. And let me tell you, you CAN’T miss it!

Happy Tuesday, Maharanis! I hope you’ve had a wonderful long weekend, and are ready to delve into more Indian weddings with us! But before we hop into today’s featured Indian wedding, I want to share with you one of my favorite luxurious resorts…

True Maharanis dream BIG, and there is no bigger dream than a gorgeous destination wedding in the Caribbean. If you’re looking for an island wedding venue that will cover ALL your bases, Atlantis, Paradise Island should be at the top on your list. White sand beaches? Check. World class dining with 40 restaurants and lounges? Bingo! Wedding specialists on hand to fulfill your every whimsy? YES!

Don’t believe me? Just take a look at this Indian wedding that took place at the Atlantis. It features dolphins, a bamboo mandap and the most gorgeous scenery a Maharani can dream of!

The resort stands on more than 100 acres and has all the amenities a Maharani could want for her friends and family. For the ladies, there’s the 30,000-square-foot Mandara Spa where you can beautify and pamper all your pre-wedding jitters away. For the gentlemen, the Atlantis boasts golf courses and the largest casino in the Caribbean!

And let’s not forget the kids: there is plenty of outdoor pools and recreational activity to keep your Mini Maharanis and Rajas entertained.

Look for more pictures of this luxury resort in our second Atlantis post! But up next, I’m excited to introduce to you our first couple of the week and show you where Anand and I got married — yay!

We are going to take a break in today’s beautiful wedding feature, for an important Maharani message. There was a horrific act at a place of worship, and my heart goes out to families of the victims of the shooting this past weekend in Wisconsin. Suddenly the world seems very, very different. To rally support and awareness Gurudwaras all around the globe are holding a candlelight vigil this week for the victims of the Oak Creek Sikh Temple Massacre. Maharani Weddings is hosting it’s own viral awareness so together we can unite and stop hatred and ignorance. I hope that you invite your friends and family to take part. Simply like this image on our Facebook page to show your support.

My goal for us is to together break 10,000 likes, and I know that we can do it. Like it and Share it on your own walls.

Will you please join me in showing your support today?

xoxo
