Ahhh, Brazil! Famous for Carnaval, the Amazon, music, football, beaches, and The Girl from Ipanema, Brazil is perfect for any couple that wants an action packed honeymoon.

Brazil 1
Brazil 2
Brazil 3

There are three absolute must sees when visiting Brazil…

First up are the 250 spectacular waterfalls make up Iguacu Falls.  Jointly shared by Brazil, and its neighbor Argentina, you will want to mark one day for each side of the falls.

Next, the Amazon. Brazil’s Amazon jungle are home to some of the greatest biodiversity on the planet. Naturalist or not, it is impossible unimpressed by the million insect species, tens of thousands of plants, and some 2,000 birds and mammals that inhabit the rainforest.  You will come away from your trip to the Amazon with a new found appreciation of the fragile ecosystem and will definitely think twice about printing that email!

Lastly, no trip to Brazil would be complete without a visit to the exhilarating city of Rio De Janieros. Whether you two are at the Copacabana sipping caipirinhas or at the tops of the scenic outlook of Corcovado; the music, people, and city of Rio will easily steal your heart. And, when you are all samba-ed out, relax at the beaches outside of Salvador.

With the world as your oyster, choosing a honeymoon location can send any Maharani into a typhoon! Travel Tuesday is here and for all January brides searching for their ultimate honeymoon destination, we have just some amazing ideas for you. After the snowy, silvery reception, and maybe even a horse drawn sleigh, January brides will want to jet off to somewhere tropical and enchanting. Lucky enough it is primes season for some of the hottest (no pun intended) destinations around the world. Bali, Brazil, and Costa Rica all experience their best weather in January!

First up Bali…

Tiny but tough is the best way to describe Bali.  You can drive around the coast of the small paradise in only one day, however, the unique experiences will leave you speechless.  Sunrises that paint the rice terraces pink and purple, magical Hindu temples, and endless sashes of sandy beaches are just a few of the images that will be crystallized in your mind. Forever.

Highlights of Bali include, Ubud's Monkey Forest, The Royal Temple, Taman Ayun Temple, of the Mengwi Empire, and the early morning hike of Mt Batur to watch the sunrise. Bali is bursting at the seams with a plethora of cultural, relaxation, and adventure activities.  So, whether it’s Kuta’s frenetic energy or the car free Nusa Lembongan that catches your fancy, it is easy to see why people are mesmerized by Bali.

Oh, and if your hubby is the type that is constantly connected to his ipad, you will be happy to know that the spotty internet connections of Bali will guarantee a romantic honeymoon!

We have been having all sorts of fun researching the Top 5 honeymoon Destinations for 2011 and even though our list was comprised of places for Maharani on a Budget, it is easy to see that the exotic locations on our list are nothing short of insanely fabulous.  So, our Number One spot belongs to…

Argentina!

This is one place any Maharani would be thrilled to visit.  From the cosmopolitan restaurants and shopping to the amazing hikes, waterfalls, and penguins, Argentina is a thrilling adventure.  The jewel of Argentina is Buenos Aires. Known as the Paris of South America, BA overflows with sites to see, streets to walk down, and restaurants to lounge at.  And, make sure you catch a futbol match when you are in Buenos Aires, after all, it would be a shame not to soak up a little culture! Let’s face it, Argentina is a terrific deal any way you slice it.  Hotels go for 100 bucks a night and a nice date night will cost you 30 bucks a head.  With prices that low it is no surprise that it was our number uno!

You are never going to believe what city made our number two spot.  Drum roll please…

Naples

You are probably thinking that Italy is so expensive and we have probably lost our marbles.  Yes it is true, Italy is expensive and with the strength of the Euro against the little ole’ dollar it seems like a 5th grader on the 3rd grade play ground.  But, if you have been dreaming of a Mediterrean honeymoon all your life, Naples is the gem you have been looking for.  Tucked away next to an inactive volcano, Naples is one of the best values in Italy. You can easily find charming B&Bs for around 100 bucks a night, and great  deals on the fresh, local, yummy cuisine of the region. My favorite part of a honeymoon in Napels is a visit by ferry to the historic island of Capri. For just under fifteen dollars, you will be able to bring back some Italian boots as a souvenir!

Coming in at number three we have…

The Philippines

Move over Thailand, the best cheap beaches of the world now belong to the Philippines.  If you are looking for surf, sand, and delicious food for about $30 dollars a day, the Philippines definitely wins over Thailand.  Ferries link the second largest archipelago in the world and with prices at $5 per hour, you will quickly see that not only does your dollar go a long way, but the Philippines is truly one of the great treasures of Southeast Asia.
