Happy Monday Maharanis!  My favorite, latest pass time is Pinterest, and the only thing that would make Pinterest more fun is all of you.  Since we had such a great time collaborating last time, let’s all create a new Pinterest board together today!

Okay fashionista, I got the pinning started with a few of my picks on the board, Maharani Loves Spring Brights, and I am hoping that you will help me load it up with more beautiful ideas, inspirations, and pins!  Think jewelry, clothes, accessories, and of course, Indian wedding!

So, to get started :

First, leave a comment with your Pinterest URL.  For example mine is : http://pinterest.com/maharaniwedding/

Next, I’ll add you as a contributor to the board, and you can start pinning!

Finally, we will pick our favorite images and share them on Facebook.

This is going to be colorfully fun, and I can’t wait to see what we create together!

If you ask me what my favorite meal of the day is, the answer is always DESSERT!  So, when I found out that these two lovebirds dedicated a ton of creative energy to their wedding cake, I instantly fell in love with them.   Maharani Priya and her Raja, Chirag, actually met as dance partners in a cultural show at the University of Michigan.  Is that straight out of a modern Bollywood movie or what?! University of Michigan was so, so, SO special to them that they wanted local hot spots incorporated into their dessert design. One of their favorite places to watch movies was the Michigan Theater, so they commissioned the Food Network Challenge cake competitor, Courtney Clark of Cake Nouveau, who created a replica of the theater!

From Maharani Priya :

Our deserts were picked flavor by flavor and decorated to the theme of Ann Arbor Michigan, as we met as dance partners in an Indian cultural show at the University of Michigan.  Three memorabilia cakes were designed, one a replica of the Michigan theater, the second a replica of our first lunch date at “China Gate” restaurant, and the third, a maize and blue “M” to top off the spirited table.

Personal touches are the easiest way to make your Indian wedding stand out from the crowd.  More coming right up!

There are two things I am always on the fence about : cutting my hair and glitter mehndi.  Every time I see a picture of Victoria Beckham I feel like running to my hairdresser’s chair.  But, when it comes down to it, I never make it there because images of Rupunzel-esque beauties, like these ones by Kate Byars Photography, make me know I am a long hair girl at heart.  The funny thing about glitter mehndi, is I never know if it is truly me or not, but one look at the handiwork of  Bridal Elements, I know that I would adore any of these sophisticated designs.  Maybe at my next Indian wedding function, I’ll try glitter mehndi….unless I cut my hair!

Big thanks to Kate Byars Photography and KIS (cubed) Events for this gorgeous submissions and have a great night Maharanis and we will see you back here tomorrow.
