Whippany, NJ Indian Wedding by Damion Edwards Photography

When Maharani Devi began planning her big day, it was her parents that came out on top. “From the big picture to the very minute little details, my parents not only helped but really took the lead for a lot of it. Nish and I are really fortunate to have a pair of parents that are so supportive and excited for all of our lives' big moments!” With endless pins on Pinterest and working alongside Elegant Affairs Inc., a timeless fairytale hatched that we are certain guests are still talking about. KC Makeup by Karun Chani ensured that the bride glowed from head to foot while donning a flowing, glittery anarkali that was a mixture of modern sophistication and Bollywood flair. The ballroom at the Hanover Marriott was transformed into a luxurious oasis by Elegant Affairs Inc. with a glowing sweetheart stage that was festooned with white and golds adorned with rustic charm. Sukhadia Caterers provided the full package to the couple and indulged guests with a savory Indian cuisine. After dinner, the dance floor became packed with the gyrating beats of DJ Raj USA on the turntables. This ballroom affair was captured elegantly by Damion Edwards Photography & Cinematography with all the images in our gallery.

Weddings adorned by the hands of Elegant Affairs Inc. always deserve that extra round of applause. Each venue this talented floral and decor team touches always leaves us breathless and inspired. Devi’s outdoor Indian wedding at the Hanover Marriott was certainly yet another stunning affair. The bride and groom took advantage of the weather and exchanged their vows under a cornucopia of flowers and pastel drapery that served as their mandap. We can’t think of a more serene location at the moment to get married in and the Hanover Marriott was the most idealistic venue for this couple. This Indian wedding unfolded just as the bride expected it to with wedding planner Event Nirvana ensuring a perfect streamline of events behind the scenes. Join me in this perfect gallery by Damion Edwards Photography & Cinematography and get lost in all the charm yourself.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

We had been dating for almost four years at this point.  Nish had told me that his work was having Spring Gala event on Friday March 4th.  Being a medical student busy in rotations, I jumped at the opportunity to get all dressed up!  We met by the Boston Commons to head over to the event together and as we walked through the park, it began to snow!  It was beautiful.  I then realized that the path and the gazebo were all lit up beautifully with candles.  Before I could process any of it, Nish was down on one knee asking me to marry him.  Obviously I said "Yes, of course!"

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

There were so many!  I remember hanging out with my bridesmaids before I walked up to the mandap and thinking of how I never wanted the moments to end.  I remember hearing Nish's vows and just feeling like the luckiest person in the world.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

We wanted our sangeet to be fun, whimsical, and energetic.  We wanted bright colors, fun performances, and lots of dancing.  For the ceremony, I wanted it to feel like we were in an ethereal spring garden with lots of blush tones and pretty pinks.  The reception was all cherry blossoms everywhere and it felt like a fairytale!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Try not to let all of the family drama get to you during the planning process.  Weddings can be really stressful, but remember that when it's over the marriage is what really matters- and if you're lucky you'll have that forever.

The reception, which we have coming up soon, highlights delectable cuisine from Sukhadia Caterers. See your right back!

Virginia Beach, VA Indian Wedding by Hugo Juarez Photography

We are so impressed with the talented artistry of Imperial Decor and absolutely loved sharing the memories of Kamaljit and Meet’s grand bash! The ballroom at the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center was in for a real treat with the hands of Imperial Decor ensuring that the spacious quarters was bathed in pure luxury. Overflowing bows of bouquets were placed on each table with a sweetheart stage lit up in special LED lighting by DJ Manan Entertainment taking command of the room. The bride donned traditional colors and went for an ultra sassy wedding lengha with a unique twist - the reception outfit was made in Delhi from the same designers that made her mother's outfit back in 1984! Guests danced the night away after eating a delectable Indian meal catered specially by Nawab and the dance floor was never empty thanks to the talented crew of Jay Dabhi Entertainment. After you view the gallery captured by Hugo Juarez Photography who also captured all the live action, head on down below for our chat with bride Kamaljit as she relives her special day.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

The first thing we booked was our venue and from there it was a breeze! My father and husband dealt with all the contracts while I met with all the vendors to make sure they were the one! Ashley Loffredo from the Westin in Town Center was amazing! She bent over backwards for us and really made sure everything was organized to our liking. I can't thank her enough, without her I don't think our wedding would have been so perfect!

Imperial Décor did such an awesome job, they took my vision and gave me much more! When I first met Saba Kamran, I was so excited because she understood what I wanted and worked around our budget versus other vendors. I told her that I wanted my décor to be classy and elegant with lots of candles and bling. I got that and more! Saba and her team completely blew me away! Just a small example of them going above and beyond: The company they ordered my flowers from informed Saba that they didn't have enough of the roses that I wanted two days before the reception. Saba found a company in California and had the roses flown out to the venue.

My Makeup artist, Sapna Desai, was awesome! She was just such a sweet person to be around and I felt so comfortable with her. She listened to what I was looking for. Each event had a different look and it was so classy and natural! When I saw myself after getting all dolled up I was in tears! She really amazed me!

Our Dj's rocked the floor both Sangeet and Reception night! Sangeet night we had DJ Manan Entertainment, his company also did all the lighting in the event spaces! Him and his team were so great! For the reception, Our DJ Jay Dabhi and his MC were flown in from New York City. He definitely got our crowd going and kept them all on the dance floor! There wasn't one minute where our guests actually sat down!

To capture our most memorable moments, we had Hugo Juarez and his team who went above and beyond from the day of our proposal to the end of our reception night!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

The only advice I have is to plan ahead and try to have everything done a month before the wedding so you can really spend some time with your family! The wedding day goes by really fast so just try to soak it all in!

Same time, say place tomorrow Maharanis!

Virginia Beach, VA Indian Wedding by Hugo Juarez Photography

Grab your maid of honor and your notebook as we explore Maharani Kamaljit’s  well thought out chain of events planned and designed by Events by Truly Yours. But first we have to mention Meet’s amazing proposal with a flash mob in the middle of Times Square! As Kamaljit walked up to her family and friends that consisted of the large group, each family member gave her a rose with "Will you marry me" by Jason Derulo playing in the background. What eventually rose from this stellar night would be the gorgeous wedding celebrating both Kamaljit and Meet’s background. The bride’s ceremony outfit was extra special because not only was it a one of kind designer piece made in Gujrat, after designing the garment herself, the bride realized that the embroidery was the same as her mother's wedding outfit. The Sikh ceremony took place in the Guru Nanak Foundation of Tidewater with the Gujarat ceremony at the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center. Imperial Decor did an outstanding job with ensuring that the venue was bathed in pure luxury and with overflowing bouquets of flowers and romantic candles, we are sure guests were blown away. We have a lot more memories tucked away in our gallery captured by Hugo Juarez Photography, so take a peek and relive these lovely moments celebrating the couple of the hour!
