St. Petersburg, FL Indian Fusion Wedding by Kimberly Photography

It's the end of today's fabulous Indian fusion wedding feature, and Tracie Domino Events saved the best for last, with a superbly planned reception! Held at the iconic Loews Don CeSar Hotel, the venue was filled with magnificent floral decorations by Suhaag Garden. We thought that the addition of succulents throughout the decor was especially charming! The wedding cake from The Cake Zone also featured flowers, and the menus by A&P Designs were done in art deco style to tie in with the venue! Every moment of the reception was exciting, and with Dudha Productions as DJ, the night was filled with dancing! Kimberly Photography perfectly captured the highlights from the event -- see it all in the full gallery!

Maharani Amy on how her family helped make her wedding special:

"My mother-in-law was absolutely amazing! She had custom outfits made for the ceremony for our bridal parties and my family! She also picked out my and the bridesmaids' jewelry and did a fabulous job! She had lovely clutch purses and gorgeous scarves made for all the girls. My friends were not used to getting so many gifts and were thrilled!

I have an identical twin sister who helped me through every single decision. There is no one's opinion I value more than hers and it really helped me stay very relaxed and calm and able to enjoy the process having her by my side and listening to me daily, talking about whatever task we were taking on! She also housed all of our Indian outfits and wedding details in her house! I live in LA and we were married in Florida and she graciously allowed us to take over a larger portion of her house!"

Final thoughts from the Maharani:

"The bracelet / rings, broach on my skirt and belly chain belt that I wore were the same my mother-in-law wore on her wedding day! It was really special.

Our ceremony and reception took place in a beautiful award-winning historic hotel with extensive history dating back from the 1920s! F. Scott Fitzgerald and Al Capone frequented the hotel in the '20s. Our reception had art deco touches to go with the stunning architecture of the hotel. It was an absolute dream come true to get married in such an iconic hotel in my hometown area! We had guests coming from all around the world and everyone was able to make a nice holiday out of the weekend!"

See you tomorrow for a wonderful Indian wedding!

Maharani Amy on their first dance song:

"We danced to 'Sea Of Love.' I come from a very musical background and currently have worked in the music industry at Warner Music Group for over 10 years. My family recorded, sang and played all the instruments; it was a very beautiful and touching moment that my family will always cherish. We also took dance classes and had choreography put together for our song. It really added a nice touch! People are still raving out our first dance!"

On her wedding day look:

"I knew I wanted a red lip but the rest I looked up on Pinterest. I wear a red lip pretty regularly so I knew I wanted to incorporate that into my look."

The magical reception you've been waiting for is up next!

Maharani Amy on meeting her Raja:

"We met playing kickball in New York City! I work in the music industry and he was an investment banker and we would never have crossed paths otherwise! Sahil was our kickball captain."

On the romantic proposal:

"Sahil proposed at the top of Runyon Canon in LA. After two and a half years of long distance from NYC to Chicago, we were out visiting LA to look for new apartments and he wanted to start our lives together in the new city we would call home."

On their wedding style:

"Our wedding style was an Indian fusion mix of vibrant traditional Indian colors and details for our Pujas and Hindu ceremony. Our hotel was a beautiful historic hotel from the 1920s. We had art deco touches tied into the reception, which was a traditional American reception. We had the florals stick with the bright colors to tie in the Indian vibe throughout the day and give a feel of cohesiveness. I wanted the colors to be the bright colors you typically see in Indian weddings. I started with pink and orange and built on that. I love the warmth and brightness they bring that you don't often see at a standard American wedding."

We can't wait to see Suhaag Garden's fabulous decor at the ceremony next!

Maharani Sneha, on picking the perfect venue:

"We wanted to keep things looking very classy and simple, and in keeping with the naturally beautiful surroundings that Kew offered. It had to be a nod to our Asian backgrounds, but with a contemporary feel to it.

The venue was something that we struggled with for a long time. We weren’t sure what we were looking for, so we spread our search to manor houses, halls and hotel and looked at practically every venue in the south east! It wasn’t until we went to Kew that we felt this is where it can happen; this is where we actually get married. Additionally, it was the only place that we both walked into and instantly liked it. There was literally nothing bad or negative to say about it."

Maharani Sneha and Raja Farhaan, on their most magical wedding moments:

"The moment I saw Farhaan at the end of the aisle. I was very nervous before that, for many reasons – tripping over my high heels, my hair coming undone, walking in front of so many people etc. I know it sounds super cheesy, but as soon as I saw him, it’s like no one else or nothing else mattered. I literally only remember seeing him, and having the biggest sense of relief – like all the weight that was on my shoulders just lifted away." - Sneha

"There are a couple of high points for me. Similar to Sneha. Waiting at the end of the aisle felt like an eternity but when the music started and I managed to get a peek at her past all the friends and family I realized that this was it! And the moment we had been waiting for had finally arrived. Seeing her in her wedding dress was an amazing moment I will never forget.

Another high point for me was at the end of the day when the more informal activities took place. Our first dance and then seeing all our friends and family on the dance floor was a special moment. Especially with our traditional Indian drummers playing along to the music." - Farhaan

Insight from the newlyweds:

"Wish we got to eat more on the day, as everyone raved about the food but we never really had much.

Making a wedding website was one of the better things we did. It was a lot easier in communicating to everyone what the days plans were (even if they hadn’t received their invitation in the post).

If you’re trying something different with the centerpieces, it may be worth doing a trial run with the florist; to make sure that there is a mutual agreement on what is expected.

Try getting to know your suppliers on a personal level. Yes, you pay them to get something done, but they play a part in making sure whatever you've planned for the day comes together.

If you’re having kids at the wedding reception, make some kids activity packs. It keeps them occupied and really makes them feel welcome as well (this was someone else we made.

Most importantly, just enjoy the day! It will go by so quickly and before you know it, it will be over. Try and enjoy it as much as you can and don't worry too much about other things."

Additional thoughts from the bride:

"First and foremost, Kat Halls (event coordinator from Kew) was an absolute star on the day. She really helped me keep my calm and make sure things ran smoothly. Natalie Danielle (H&MU artist of the day) was another person who I must thank, for keeping me sane! Our photographers, Daria and Marek, who were probably the best choice we could have made with making sure the day was captured. Hanging out with them was like being with friends."

Weren't Sneha and Farhaan an absolute dream? We'll be back tomorrow with another spectacular South Asian wedding celebration, so don't miss out!
