From the bride, on family and friends helping:
"My parents were extremely involved from the very beginning and my little brother was truly indispensable. He was my right hand man and my sanity through it all. We made all the creative decisions together with input from Amar and his family as well. I feel like my family became even closer than we already were since this was literally a year long project. My extended family, both in India and California, also poured their hearts and souls into the wedding planning; to the point that we didn't even need wedding planners or coordinators. We had planned every detail in advance during our regular meetings and any minor hiccups during the events were coordinated seamlessly by two of my uncles who worked tirelessly and enthusiastically all weekend. Everything was executed smoothly and for once, all the events were on & even ahead of time! I cannot thank our family and friends enough for helping out with the smallest details like filling welcome bags, making indian snacks for our out of town guests, making little potlis with dry snacks and sweets to munch on during the wedding ceremony, making my floral jewelry for the pithi, putting in so many hours of dance practices etc. With almost 400 guests (including a 125+ from out of state) and so many events, it was no small task. Amar and I are so lucky and grateful that we have so many people in our life that truly wanted to get involved in making our wedding week so magical!"
On the first dance:
"Our first dance as a married couple was Dildaara/Stand By Me from Ra One. It is a great mix of Bollywood+American music. The song is upbeat and the lyrics hold great significance to both of us. We had a snow confetti blast right as the chorus hit and I think that got all the guests really excited. Made for some amazing pictures too!"
On a special moment:
"The entire week was magical but there was a point during the reception, after all the amazing speeches and performances, when Amar and I were sitting on our beautiful bridal stage realizing that almost everyone that mattered to us was under the same roof that day. We both realized how fortunate we were to have such amazing friends and family who were there to bless us and celebrate our union. I also remember the thrill of walking down the aisle with my dad and brother heading to meet Amar, it was a very emotional moment for all three of us."
Hope you had a blast seeing every detail of this wedding! See ya next time, ladies!
