From the bride, on details of the mehndi night: "Both my husband and I, being Bollywood addicts and loving the whole 'Om Shanti Om' vibe and era, we wanted a disco theme mehndi but with an electric-glow twist. At most of the mehndis I have been to bangles are laid out for the guests to wear, which I always loved! So to keep with the tradition we had bangles, but to add a little flare, we also had glow sticks for our guests to enjoy and wear. Also getting some inspiration from Pinterest, I saw these beautiful cookies with lovely henna patterns drawn on. I showed them to our wonderful cake baker who was able to bake them and also have them glow in the dark! The stage also was electric-glowy in color, as well as the customized doli my father designed, and our decorator decorated for us. Our side (bride) entered the mehndi party adorning some glow gear and dancing to 'It’s The Time to Disco.' Once the doli set foot onto the dance floor, the floor lit up just like in the disco era. Our guests were all pleasantly surprised and excited. As the night continued and all the rasaams and dinners were winding down it was time for the entertainment to begin. While watching the dance and skit performances a falooda and kulfi station was set up to satisfy those with a sweet tooth (aka my husband and I), plus to energize the guests to dance the night away.
In all, those couple of nights were truly unforgettable and filled with lots of love, happiness, and joy. It was the perfect way, for us, to start off our new journey together."
A princess pamper-sesh is up next!
