This wedding reception is truly fusion at it's finest with 108 guests from all over the world - Australia, Canada, United States, Argentina, Italy, India, England and the Middle East.  Every part of the ceremony and all the speeches were translated into Spanish during the romantic reception in the Villa's central courtyard. The live Italian musicians and the cake that was assembled in front of the guests are just some of the very unique and special touches that were captured perfectly by Nabis Fotografia.  My favorite moment that was captured though has to be the one of Maharani Roopa, who is truly glowing from the inside out, laughing and looking spectacular in that deep royal purple velvet lengha!

A very BIG congratultions to Roopa and Mauro!
From the bride, Roopa:
Mauro and I met way back in high school in Milan, Italy. His sister was one of my best friends. I reconnected with his sister over New Years in 2007 and that following May traveled to London to visit my brother, so since they lived in London we went for a night out. Sparks flew and we dated long distance for a year, traveling between London and New York until I decided to make the move to London.
In May 2010 Mauro proposed on a weekend trip to Prague on Charles Bridge on a romantic night in the rain with onlooking tourists and lots of cheers. Given our history of living in Italy (I also studied art abroad my junior year of college and his parents now reside in Florence) we couldn't think of a better place to get married and celebrate all of our cultures and experiences together with family and friends. I'm of Indian heritage but grew up overseas my entire life with a large part of that in Italy and New York. Mauro is from Argentina with Italian heritage and grew up mostly in Argentina and London.
With several different cultures to be represented and different languages coming into play, everything from the ceremony details to the stationery for the wedding was a fun challenge to be reckoned with. We were very lucky to find a hindu pandit and catholic priest who are very liberal and wonderful people to officiate our ceremony. We had a legal civil wedding at the beautiful Palazzo vecchio in florence on Sept 1st followed by a reception at Mauro's parents place. The big day on September 3rd was a combined hindu and catholic ceremony in our villa gardens followed by a romantic reception in the villa central courtyard. Unique and wonderful touches were the musicians, the cake that was assembled in front of our guests, an old fashioned ice cream cart for gelato, and the wonderful dessert spread.  The celebration was amazing and I hope you enjoy looking through our pictures and thanks for taking the time to read our story.
