From our Maharani Priya :
Saturday, the wedding day, was perfect. The ceremony started with an outdoor baraat procession, and Chirag rode in on a horse and carriage with his sar-bala dressed in his likeness. My sisters jovially made a barrier with their chunnis, not allowing the baraat to pass until their dancing was to their liking! Then came the Jai Mala and the ceremony. The ceremony was a traditional Sikh ceremony. The hall was decorated in red and gold with tons of flowers. The ceremony was completed with a civil component performed by Chirag’s sister Anju. She asked myself and Chirag questions about what we loved about each other, how we met, how we “knew,” and she spun a beautiful story to us and our congregation before formally conducting the exchanging of the vows and the rings.
If you love dessert like I do, you are going to love what we have coming up next! Back in a bit!
