Now, it isn’t everyday that the bride’s dad steals the show, but totally he made my heart melt in these reception shots by Katha Images.  Whether it is the way he holds his daughter during their dance or the way he kisses her on the cheek, they are the sweetest images I have seen in a while.  So, grab a tissue Maharanis, you are going to need one!

In order to convey the emotions, traditions, and ideas behind an Indian wedding, we don’t really publish black and white images on the pages of Maharani Weddings.  Well, today we made an exception.  After seeing the heart wrenching, spirited feelings behind these photographs by Katha Images, we could hardly resist.  And, how can you blame us? The purity of the moment stands out in every single one of these images, and the beauty is obvious.  I know that I usually gush about the lenghas, the flowers, the décor, and the bride, but today, it all the barefaced emotions.

Excuse me, I need a tissue….I’ll be right back!

This bright and beach-y Laguna Beach E-session by AaronEye Photography makes me want to sing and dance and splash in the ocean waves!  What a bright blue sky to match the bright smiles on the faces of these two lovebirds! This engagement session in one word: dynamite!

 From Maharani Anuradha:

As a total California girl growing up on Hindi movies, there was no better way to combine the two than a Bollywood on the Beach engagement shoot! Donning a white sari, I wanted to evoke feelings of purity and love in the context of a beautiful landscape!  I also wanted an unconventional beach backdrop that had rock formations to add a dynamic element to the pictures. Dramatic, clean and technically sound our photographer did a great job with post-production to really enhance the natural beauty of our locations. One of my favorite pictures however is the romantic flying purple dupatta in Dilwale style pose.

See you all tomorrow!

From the moment I got this New York City Indian wedding by Imagique I have been DYING to share it with all of you.  Of course it has the usually elements that get me hyper…the bride’s amazing eyes, loads of jewelry,  and of course all captured spectacularly by Imagique.  But, this film stood out to me in particular because it reminded me of the very best piece of wedding advice I have ever received. “On the day of your wedding, let EVERYTHING go.  Things are bound to go wrong, but if you just roll with it, you will have a great time.”  Well, you will never, ever believe that this Indian wedding took place in the midst of hurricane Irene.  Talk about a challenge, but this couple handled it beautifully!

From Imagique :

The threat of Hurricane Irene bearing down on everyone did absolutely nothing to discourage or dissuade anyone present from having a great time. Literally one of the most raucous weddings we’ve ever shot. These people just wanted to dance. And dance they did. The sangeet, the wedding, the reception. It was a huge, fun party. Chirag and Sonali were gracious hosts and made us feel very special. Big fan of these two wonderful people!

Speaking of wonderful, worked with two very special people in Wrinkle In Time photography. Immediately clicked with these guys and they felt like old friends. LOVE THEM.

Irene threw off timing of everything so we made a decision with the couple to just do a trailer at the wedding and make something shorter. Once i spent 5 mins with this couple and their friends, knew the perfect song. One I had been waiting for the right wedding to use. This was it.

Happy Halloween weekend Maharanis!  What are you dressing up as?  I am going to be a hula dancer!
