Before we dive head first into their fabulous reception, we are not quite ready to let this Hindu ceremony go. Around every twist and turn of a Hindu ceremony, there is something special happening.  Very special. So, this part deserves a special post. Coming in a multitude of shapes, sizes, and styles, Kalira are my favorite part of bridal jewelry, and it’s not just because they are meant to make housework impossible.  Tied to the bride’s choora by her Uncle to signify a blessing and good wishes, it isn’t until the bride is officially a Mrs. that my love for the Kalira begins.  In a discreet little moment, a small ritual happens, where the bride shakes her Kalira overhead of a unmarried ladies, and whoever the kalira falls upon is the next Maharani!

Reception on the way!  See you in a minute!
