Aside from flowers, I am a big sucker for wedding stationary.  Invitations, menus, place cards, you name it, I love it.  I just think that no matter what the budget, some well made, neat stationary adds a level of sophistication and class to any wedding celebration.  Needless to say, I was thrilled when I saw the details involved in today’s featured, and I was especially tickled when I saw all of their collection of stationary.

From our bride : Indian elements were scattered throughout the decor.  I had saris draped in the stairwell, on the altar, and under the cake.

The cake was covered in a gorgeous henna pattern.  I had sent my baker pictures of the henna design I was getting done on my hands, and she an amazing job of recreating those elements on the cake. Another inexpensive way I carried the henna theme throughout was by buying a stamp in the design and applying it to all of my printed materials (programs, menus, name cards, etc.).   I used colorful lanterns throughout to give the space an Indian feeling, while adding great mood lighting at night.  I bought mine from eBay!

The food was a blend of our favorite American and Indian treats.  One of side of the buffet, fried green tomatoes, on the other, Chicken Tikka Masala.  Appetizers included mini Philly cheeseteak tarts and vegetable samosas with a peach chutney.    Signature cocktails included Pimms' Garden Cups and Mango Bellinis.  We gave out chocolate chip cookie favors at the wedding but included homemade Indian sweets in the hotel welcome bag.  I loved how eclectic it all was.

The day was simply amazing.  It was pretty emotional; we both cried when we opened each others presents, cried again when we first saw each other, and cried again at the altar.  I gave him cuff links I had made on etsy; they were of vintage maps, one of Chapel Hill where we fell in love, and one of Decatur where we got married.  He got me a gorgeous engraved picture frame, with the cutest hand-drawn picture of us in it (to be replaced by a real photograph).  We had this lovely acoustic guitarist for our ceremony music, and our favorite band from college (a Beatles coverband) play the reception.  Our first dance was to Brooks and Dunn "My heart is lost to you," a song we first danced to 5 years ago, at which time I knew it would be our first dance song.  Everything was exactly as we wanted it, and all of the little details were perfect.  Sigh.  It went by so fast!

Just to make your Friday a little sweeter, and the weekend come a little faster, check out this dreamy highlights video by Indy Productions Dot Net :

Like any great wedding cinematographer, Indy Productions dot Net did a great job of capturing the day, and editing it down into a digestible little sample and makes you want to come back for more!

Congratulations to the lovely pair, and great job to all the vendors that brought their dream fusion wedding day to life!
